From an engineering/fabrication standpoint it's great. That being said, hearing the roar of a 45 degree v twin out of a vintage sled is somehow sacreligious.
Damn that’s so sweet. I was like man that thing is going like 85mph all day. 88mph!! With that set up is pretty sweet. No chain drive all clutch. That’s impressive.
That's awesome. Great idea. I see a movie trilogy coming. "Hells Angels on Ice: The forgotten years". "Hells Angels on Ice: Fighting Mounties and Frostbite" "Hells Angels on Ice: Sonny Bager, The Toeless Leader"
HA!! Too Cool!! Frikken Love this!! I've thought about doing the same with a Sporty engine, simply because they so readily available, and so damn reliable. (and cheap too!)
ironcast no way in hell a 45 degree (tractor/harley) motor sounds better than a small bore 70's 2 stroke twin. Search rotax type 354 and open the guy doing asphalt runs. Now that is the sweetest sounding snowmobile motor of all time (even if it's transplanted into a junk polaris tx chassis).
Bob Rynda, you did some really nice work here. I have a '73 Harley Davidson sled that I would like to do the same thing to. I realize that it is a mid-mount engine chassis but I already have the solution to that drawn up. I know you previously stated that do to liability reasons you would prefer to keep your drive engineering private but I think you should patent it! I would be willing to pay for and sign a waiver to have you make up another or furnish some drawings and a parts list. Hope this makes it to you.
Did a nice job on it. I like it. With all the work you put into it I would rather you used a original Harley-Davidson sled. Even with the mid engine mount you could put a front mount bulkhead with IFS. But that's just my opinion. Still a very nice piece of craftsmanship. Two thumbs up!
If you bolted on an 80” evo with the same carb, se57 cam adjustable pushrods and valve springs and cycle shack slip-ons 1/2 the price and twice the torque, 20 more horsepower, w/stock compression, up to 40 with 10.5:1 JE pistons (factory recesses for high lift cam valve clearance) may have to use a milling machine and end mill to trim the case to clear the cam lobes. Or make a FATVO BLOCKHEAD 88” TC heads on an 80” evo lower, i think it adds up to 99/100” ? Don’t recall. Looks sweet, Id like to see it at its potential though!
Hans Schtuk citation ? You've gotta be talking about a citation ss. (Ss being the 368 with twin carbs). The plain ol 4500's were only good for 65 or so.
When you want a Harley but live in Canada lol
Speaking as someone who was around when Harley made sleds. This thing runs faster than any Harley sled did.
I seen that sled at the scorpion homecoming in Crosby Minnesota!! Nice that you made a video. Sure wish Scorpion would have stuck around😎
From an engineering/fabrication standpoint it's great. That being said, hearing the roar of a 45 degree v twin out of a vintage sled is somehow sacreligious.
That's what all snowmobiles should sound like. Perfect job!
One of the most badass things I've ever seen!
Said the squirrel to the chipmunk!!! yeehaw!
Awesome. And 88 mph is plenty fast enough. The guy is a visionary.
OUTTATIME
I think this thing actually takes the cake for the coolest thing I think I've ever seen
I'd take that over any if these new sleds. Man that's a wicked build! Respect✊
Slow as fuck
@@mikeslocum4966 Is that what your 5 th grade teacher wrote as her assessment of you ?
What a beautiful sounding machine what a cool idea
Harley engines in general do nothing for me but this build and the remarkable fab work is awesome. 5 stars!
Damn that’s so sweet. I was like man that thing is going like 85mph all day. 88mph!! With that set up is pretty sweet. No chain drive all clutch. That’s impressive.
Nicely done. I thought about doing this back in the early 80’s when I owned a 74 inch shovelhead.
Well that is just plain freakin' COOL!!! Good job!!!
It sounds like an old WW2 fighter going by lol
That's awesome. Great idea.
I see a movie trilogy coming.
"Hells Angels on Ice: The forgotten years".
"Hells Angels on Ice: Fighting Mounties and Frostbite"
"Hells Angels on Ice: Sonny Bager, The Toeless Leader"
Nice job, very clean and well put together.
Best of both worlds!!!!
Very clean and nice machining!!!
Tommy Boy ..
Beautiful machine !
Nice Fabrication work (Messerschmitt perfect)
sounds awesome! 👍 looks great too. the old scorpions rocked like a hurricane.
88 mph all you need is a flux capacitor....
My turn to take it for a spin..... Awesome setup.
First good sounding sled I have heard
Wow! I am a fan of Scorpion snowmobiles and a lover of Harley's I have owned both!! And would love to own this awesome machine!! Great job!!!
Maybe the best sounding sled i've ever heard. Very nice
I bet the Torque is the fun factor for this sled,a real nice professional job!!
I love when a guy goes "i didnt want that so i BUILT my own transmission"
Looks great, sounds great.
Sweet looking sled, outstanding engineering.
what a quality Mod! Nice work!!
Sweet!!! Love that HD V Twin!
Amazing job grafting that motor in it!!
Back in the 70’s Harley Davidson had a line of a few snowmobile’s but they didn’t last long only a few years.
Check the Harley snow bikes of today..sick
Ya they werent all that good either. They looked good though.
Wicked fast!! Faster then what I would have guessed
ThatS very cool , good work
That's impressive! Let's see; Speed, awesome sound, nice craftsmanship with attention to detail...and, I have not seen anything like it...
Still have a lot of throttle left .. lol. Could pull a mobile home with the damn thing !! Love it !!
sounds like a Harley goin by, great sound
Best sounding 4 stroke sled!
HA!! Too Cool!!
Frikken Love this!!
I've thought about doing the same with a Sporty engine, simply because they so readily available, and so damn reliable. (and cheap too!)
OMG.....I just love the gas tank !!! thumbs up !!!
I think its great.and sounds nice
That is bad ass in so many levels
That was AWSOME. It would be cool if H.D would start making there own snowmobiles.
Craig 2E They did make them back in the early 70s.
very nice job!
awesome bud love it
Freedom sled! Murica! xD
I gotta say that is pretty cool
Nicest sounding snowmobile I have ever heard.

They both sound good.

FUN man!!🤙🏼
Coolest sled ever
Excellent 🎉

That's badass!
Unreal!
Sweet I’m surprised you didn’t travel back in time and put this in Harley’s lineup for next year
Very cool
Very very cool
Scorpion snowmobiles were quite nice back in the day.
Righteous!
Love it!
Awesome!
Cool! With snow underneath you can really see how much oil it’s leaking!
Boat Axe twin cans don't leak. it's not a pan shovel.
Jason Hausmann I know, but it’s still funny.
Hahahaha!
looks fun to cruz
Almost looked like a rainer beer commercial when driving ur sled fast in the video lol
I've always wanted to see a Sea Do, or any jet ski powered by a Harley engine.
Literally working on that on a js550 stand up ski right now lol
Now that's a super twin eh
I LIKE IT!
Love it.
I’ve never seen anything like it before ,👍
Bob you are a evil genius..LOL!!!
Nice 👍
Awesome
THAT THING RIPS
Wow That's Cool
Guess who's going back to the future.

Beauty
Cool
this is groundbreaking! not the build, but a harley rider wearing a helmet
Need to paint it Harley orange with black stripes.

To cool.
Badass
My 83 Citation would hit 80mph. Nice job on your sled.
Hans Schtuk citation ? You've gotta be talking about a citation ss. (Ss being the 368 with twin carbs). The plain ol 4500's were only good for 65 or so.
Maybe in the back of a pick up🤔
Twist and go?
Dude!
That thing sounds absolutely amazing with a capital F
Always thought Harley’s were sleds😏
cool i ride motercycles im learning snow mobile
Huh.. I've seen plenty of 90 mph fly by's....I was going to say about 70-75. Cool sled any way.
It's a killer.yea baby.T800Aust
MMMMM Daddy likes!!!!!
