Jennifer Lawrence produces and stars in No Hard Feelings, a laugh-out-loud, R-rated comedy from director Gene Stupnitsky (Good Boys) and the co-writer of Bad Teacher.
Maddie (Lawrence) thinks she’s found the answer to her financial troubles when she discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to "date" their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, and bring him out of his shell before he leaves for college. But awkward Percy proves to be more of a challenge than she expected, and time is running out. She has one summer to make him a man or lose it all.

@@elementblue780 She made an indie movie with that one actor Brian Tyree Henry where they played war veterans dealing with medical and emotional issues. I forgot the title. I think it was an Apple TV exclusive.
She is perfect for this role. She has TONS of experience selling her body for money. Weinstein was a big fan of hers and got her all kind of gigs, and we know what the price for that was.

@@downforwardone there have been plenty attempts between 2014 and 2019 for comedy movies, which failed becouse they tried to be funny and also political correct at the same time... which is simply not possible.
That naturally resulted into less and less production of comedy films...
We live in a world where "friends" is getting critisized , almost 30 years after it's release becouse their group is... 5 white people hanging out.. instead of 1 chinese, 1 dwarf, 1 black, 1 russian and 1 orc.

No superhero movies in the 2000's? You have selective memory my friend. And movies of all genres have been made at all times. Making issues where there arent any.
A good thing about the movie is, in spite of having sex as textual & integral part of it, it never uses the same as means of entertainment but do uses it as a means of thoughtful statement. A not so great thing about the movie is, it unable to tap into the potential of relationships it created. E.g. damaged car repair expenses may be borne by protagonist friends (the couple) in spite of them having financial difficulties. Further the boy character may have more flow in his character arc in spite of having quite a sharp shift.
Not dissing the fact that this is a film at all, but I wonder how many introverts would find this premise insulting?

Is it just me or is the premise of this movie problematic?? Like if this was an older man and a younger women no one would think this would be okay but society keeps pushing the notion that men who don't have sex or are successful with women are somehow losers when they can be just as focused on other ventures/aspects of life
That will probably be the point of the movie.
The movie is about an asexual character (The "A" in LGBTQIA+) with overbearing, non-understanding parents. His awkwardness isn't because he's a "loser" but comes from having rich, helicopter parents who sheltered him his whole life and he doesn't have a lot of experience with socialization (or he's autistic). The age gap is irrelevant, especially since the characters look similar ages.
