1 - 12 inch (30cm) wooden dowel OR piece of driftwood
22 - 60 inch (152cm) 3.35mm single strand cotton rope Single Strand Cotton - Ropeshop.ca

working cords: Scheepjes Chunky Monkey yarn (medium worsted weight) Scheepjes Chunky Monkey
- Jasmine 1218 (off white)
- White 1001

- Orange 2002
- Flame 3908 (reddish orange)

* each square on grid pattern represents a vertical double half hitch knot in the corresponding colour
* I don’t give out specific measurements for the working cords because it can vary depending on tension and materials used. However, I like to work with 60 inches (152cm) at one time

💙 aw I’m glad I was able to help 🤗 Pixel macrame can seem very daunting but it’s really just one knot over and over again. It only gets more complicated with larger grids and more colours to switch around

I love butterflies, this one will definitely be on my to do list. I just finished your cat silhouette but I used a black background with multi color chunky yarn. Looks like a poster from the 90's with the velvet background. Thank you so much for sharing.

💙 I like to work with 60 inches (152cm) at a time which is roughly my arm span; but the length for your working cords doesn’t matter as you will always add more once you’ve run out. Use what length feels comfortable to you
As far as the quantity of balls of yarn….you only need one small ball of yarn for each colour and you won’t use it all. You will have lots leftover for other projects. I use Scheepjes Chunky Monkey yarn which is 100 gram or 300 meters

Can I use 4mm single strand and Scheepjees?
💙 you certainly can! Just make sure when you tie your vertical double half hitch knot around your rope, it forms a square shape just like the grid pattern (otherwise your image might distort)

💙 Hello 👋🏻 For this project I use both! I used 3.35mm single strand cotton rope for the filler cords, and size 4 or medium worsted weight synthetic yarn for the working cords. You can find all the measurements and materials used in the description box 💙
