Collecting Designs, from Ancient to Today

Since the Industrial Revolution, the definition and boundaries of design have been gradually shaped along with the innovation of standardized mass production and production efficiency; along with the beginning of a new round of technological revolution, the definition and boundaries of design have been expanded in the face of new technologies, new ideas and new social relations; along with the emergence of design museums and design galleries around the world, the dimensions and meanings of design are being reshaped. From classical furniture and figurative artifacts to contemporary design, what is good design? In this discussion, we look back at the systematic construction of design collections around the world and try to provide more directions for the future development of design collections.
