Yessss. It is definitely a must. Since surgery I have definitely had my share of Infusions to get my supplements, also suffering from low iron. I have learned my lesson about neglecting my vitamin supplements. Thank you for sharing this video. It's Definitely Vitial 💯💪🏾💯
A little hack I found was to look at the ingredients that are in the bariatric vitamins and then finding a multi that has very similar ingredients. As for mine I was able to match of the major bari brands to Nature Made multi that I was able to find on Amazon. You just have to take 2 vitamins in order to get the same as the bari ones. However, I often find the Nature Made ones on sale on Amazon or at Walgreens
This is what I was told to do by my bariatric team. I do take the chewable flinstone vitamins with iron. I just take one a day. It has everything in it that I need and my labs are gorgeous. I’m 15 months post op RNY.
I’m iron deficient now because I neglected taking my vitamins but I am getting back on track because the way my hair has thinned out is atrocious! Love the video ❤
I’m 6 months post. I kept forgetting to take all my vitamins, and my primary doctor suggested that I put them in the bathroom. 🙌🏾I haven’t been missing them now!!!!🎉
Thank for sharing the love and encouragement as always, Karen, it was definitely needed and welcomed, sending love your way as well and be blessed as this journey continues for us both ❤.
Personally, I’ll stick to taking vitamins catered to bariatric patients. I noticed that when I switched to a regular multivitamin, my vitamin levels dropped significantly. My body seems to like Barilife multivitamin. Plus, I love that it has iron in it. 🤩
Yea for the first month some centers don’t have you take vitamins at all while still in the healing phase from surgery so those would be fine. But you would definitely need a good bariatric vitamin after that.
I love you Karen and appreciate you so much for always sharing your experience and wisdom with us on this journey! And it’s true I asked my center about samples and they gave them to me to try.
I needed this right at this moment... Thank you. I was doing really well until about 2 months ago and I completely stopped taking my vitamins. I have a number of extremely unpleasant things going on in my life and I take so many and I don't feel good when I take them so eventually I just stopped and I have been struggling hardcore with depression lately. I gotta get back to it.
Is it bad that I’m still taking the chewable vitamins even though I’m 7 months out? Lol I hate the pills and the barilife chewables aren’t that bad lol
I make one year post op vsg on June 1st. Just got all my bloodwork back and majority is low🫤 Its soo hard to stay consistent with my vitamins because I take soo many multiple times a day its like a chore. And some make me nauseous😭 I need to get on top of it cause my hair is super thin now and Im always fatigued, bruise easily, etc.
They key is to take it with food or after you have had your largest meal ! That helps with the nausea. I know it’s veryyyyyy annoying but it’s necessary to keep you healthy

Yess it’s so important and so many people skip it
@@karensandiego Yes it's so vital. Those infusions are annoying and time consuming 💯

Yup your vitamin levels will drop on non bariatric vitamins because they aren’t formulated in a way our bodies can obsorb them after surgery !
My surgery team recommends the Flintstone Complete multi-vitamins, the caltrate 600 plus d chews and 27mg of iron. For the first month.

Love you too 💕💕💕 yess they usually have sooo many samples just laying around
One can always take a bariatric vitamin capsule. 😊
Thank you so much !!! I’m starting my journey in a few months. This was very helpful ❤
Hi sister,
Did you know any cream for skin?
I have my operation 7 months ago but i have loss skin on my neck
I know of someone who passed because they were vitamin deficient after surgery 💔
I’m so sorry for your loss 😔 stories like this are why I made this video. I want us to be aware of the risks.
@@karensandiego appreciate you 🫂💕 your videos have helped me a great deal as I’ll be going for my surgery very soon. God bless you
What are your thoughts on vitamins from patch MD
I tried them early in my journey but my doctor had me stop because they were doing absolutely nothing for my levels.
Thank you so much my love

It not to late to get back on track with it, you got this 💕

Nope ! The chewables have the same vitamins in it so it works just as well
Is your code still active? Tried entering it and received error for not being a valid code
Yup it’s still active ( karen20 ) it doesn’t work on subscribe and save orders if you’re trying to use that option.
Thank you
