For Pinsir it would've made more practical sense to make the horns thinner instead of shorter so the females can at least use their main weapon in battle.
Rockin Rootbeer Except as pointed out most females of it’s species have no horns or really small ones! I agree it looks wack but is true to nature. Making them thinner for no reason is kinda weird? They could of balanced it a bit more by lengthening the females a bit as well as making the males a bit larger. This way she wouldn’t have to have hers shortened to such a degree it looks weird, but they’re a bit shorter.
@Nadia Blue The male's sex organs (hemipenes) need more tail room to, ahem, remain tucked in, so their tails are thicker and usually longer, while the females obviously lack hemipenes and so their tails are thinner and shorter.
Or according to Wobuffet you just need lipstick, and they actually kept that difference. In fact I think I must be a guy because I don't wear a bow or lipstick.
I think that some of these changes shouldn’t have been removed, and kept. They would make them look more unique and cuter in some cases, and more tough in others.
@@ChangedMyNameFinally69 sure, but that doesmt mean it wasn't the logic behind it, pokemon DOES try to reference actual biology as much as reasonably. They cut it, either way, so they probably thought the same thing you are.
@@vocalvortexstudios2058 I mean I'm actually fine with the idea, it just sounded kinda sexist to imply female Pokemon are weaker than their male counterparts when that's not the case
some of the ones that they cut just make me wonder even more how some of the others made it in. like wobbufet putting on lipstick and pikachu having a heart-shaped tail for some reason?? i guess to make it more cute for marketing but why would they change their mascot for something that's not even based on anything???
I actually think female Pikachu was good. It seems more like a posture difference than dimorphism. It would have been cool if we could have had posture/animation differences based on gender to reflect behavior differences.
Ya that was off putting for me. Delete it and extent the cheeks to replace the missing stash. Takes less than a hour. Literal minutes if your experienced with modeling.
Can we just agree that starters shouldn’t have sexual dimorphism (unless it’s small details like Torchic’s butt speck or Venusaur’s flower)? Like seriously they tried to implement sexual differences in every starter and it resulted in the females looking worse or just plain dumb. Your starter is supposed to be your partner for life so they should stay virtually the same regardless of whatever sex it is.
Look, it's cute when Pikachu's expression changes to match, but it's pretty weird to have it's ears down even though it's expression is literally: :3 But yeah, Espeon and Flereon weren't that bad,
Damn i went to check just now and it did. Now im scared and probably never want a female one. Its weird enough without ears but even stranger with smaller horns
Actually, I think the female Flygon looks quite nice. Cute, but not TOO cute, just cute enough while still being a dragonfly dragon thing. That's just me, though. You know, I honestly LOVED all the sexual dimorphism in gen 4, it's one of the many reasons I felt like gen 4 was when Pokemon peaked and they should have ended it there. The underground was amazing, the contests were perfect, adding new evos and prevos to old Pokemon was pure delight (I mean, gen 4 gave us Bonsly, the purest embodiment of cuteness)…more than anything else, the world felt so ALIVE, and I'm sure the many instances of sexual dimorphism added to that a great deal as well. Everything since then has felt, to me, like milking. I used to LOVE going through a full Pokedex and seeing what Pokemon had different male and female forms and playing spot-the-difference, and it still makes me happy; I'm sad that they don't do it that way anymore. But it is a lot of work, I will concede that point…and I mean it's not like they make enough money to hire a few dozen more people to cover that extra work and still make a profit or anything… >.>
you should play hgss if you haven’t. if you have two DSs and a dppt game card too you can hand craft a perfect pokemon experience, basically being able to manually choose your team with eggs from the start. i do that more for diamond and pearl because i love the pokemon around the starting area in soul silver.... chikorita, mareep, furret, togepi
It's funny how the cut design for male Sharpedo originally had bigger fins when it's usually female sharks that are larger and longer (I find egg-laying species generally have more instances of larger females.) I'm glad a lot of these were cut. It seems like many of the beta differences exist for the sole purpose of existing (in what possible way do tiny ears benefit a Pokémon?) *Don't forget about the Gen 5 differences: Frillish, Jellicent & Unfezant*

Did you know, snakes have tails. Yes, they aren't just full tail. Usually male snakes have longer tails.
@Nadia Blue
The male's sex organs (hemipenes) need more tail room to, ahem, remain tucked in, so their tails are thicker and usually longer, while the females obviously lack hemipenes and so their tails are thinner and shorter.

2:20 Uh, Lockstin? Houndoom still has that difference it the actual games.
male kirlia looks like a dear sweet prince.
4:59 it's because crobat's teeth come from the bottom of his mouth, while those fangs are designed like they come from the top.
15:30
Im actually pretty sure that dinosaur females are bigger.
But what do i know im just a teen sitting and playing minecraft all day
And gacha life
If you use gacha this be meaning you dumb
13:40 Yo I only needed a bow to be female?! That’ve made my transition one thousand times easier if I’d know that’s all it took XD
Hormone pills: no
b o w: yes
You could also tape a heart-shape to your Lightning tail
FellAzzy722 not a bad idea, I think that’s literally sex reassignment surgery for pikachus 😂
Or according to Wobuffet you just need lipstick, and they actually kept that difference. In fact I think I must be a guy because I don't wear a bow or lipstick.
I think that some of these changes shouldn’t have been removed, and kept. They would make them look more unique and cuter in some cases, and more tough in others.
at the very least they could have kept the heart tail for pikachu, in fact I think the cosplay ones have this
@@keeganlafferty1395 Yeah sorry to break it to you but female Pikachu kept the heart shape tails, it's just Closplay Pikachu IS a female Pikachu.
I agree. And it’s just a fact that male and female sex differences exist.
Keegan Lafferty They have kept it.
Out of every eeveelution
Espeon looked kinda cute with tiny ears
The rest suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked
Literally they do, that was not looking good
Yeah, Umbreon even looks like they just cut her ears, not smaller, straight up cut.
Espeon was highkey adorable but like...then both males and females should have it
Imo all them were cool, though umbreon... That's another story
Ikr
Can definitely understand Pinsir's - They use those to hunt as well, and their crushing attacks would cease to make sense on the female ones
How so? All Pokemon can fight
@@ChangedMyNameFinally69 because females of many of those beetle species have smaller weaponry, or even no weaponry at all
@@vocalvortexstudios2058 Yeah, but beetles also aren't giant and capable of killing humans.
Lockstin: No wonder a lot of these got cut!!
Ad: Ok, Let me cut you off right there.
some of the ones that they cut just make me wonder even more how some of the others made it in. like wobbufet putting on lipstick and pikachu having a heart-shaped tail for some reason?? i guess to make it more cute for marketing but why would they change their mascot for something that's not even based on anything???
I’m a simple man. I see “sex” in the title and I click. lol
I am a skinny man. If I see a skeleton, I go through a midlife crisis because it reminds me of myself
No, you're single

So you came for the bidoof?
I'm a manly man I see a gym and I work out.
What if the idea is that Ampharos' pearls are all the same size but their bodies are overall smaller?
Dude, I freaking LOVED that Arcanine difference. I wish that was still a thing
"Mr Mime" Ears!? Those aren't ears, surely.
I actually think female Pikachu was good. It seems more like a posture difference than dimorphism. It would have been cool if we could have had posture/animation differences based on gender to reflect behavior differences.
yeah! it also feels like loppy rabbit ears!
I wish female theivul didn’t ha e the mustache
Ya that was off putting for me. Delete it and extent the cheeks to replace the missing stash. Takes less than a hour. Literal minutes if your experienced with modeling.
Honestly, I would have liked thievul to NOT have the whiskers to begin with. But since they HAVE them, I don't mind the fact both females and males do
I mean, to me I like it 'cause it looks like Will Zeppeli's moustache.
Nich White the zeppeli bloodline is full of chads

Yeah which cool for the Male.
But I'm not nicknaming my Female Theivul Zeppeli any time soon.

I'm so sorry you had to see your little cousins doing "it"
Ah yes, two bidoof breeding so their trainer gets a shiny HM Slave
Can we just agree that starters shouldn’t have sexual dimorphism (unless it’s small details like Torchic’s butt speck or Venusaur’s flower)? Like seriously they tried to implement sexual differences in every starter and it resulted in the females looking worse or just plain dumb. Your starter is supposed to be your partner for life so they should stay virtually the same regardless of whatever sex it is.
Honestly really like the cutesy look on the female espeon and flareon
They look adorable!!!
OMG AND THAT FEMALE PIKACHU IS SOO CUTE!!
Look, it's cute when Pikachu's expression changes to match, but it's pretty weird to have it's ears down even though it's expression is literally: :3
But yeah, Espeon and Flereon weren't that bad,
Should rather just be a variant of them rather than a gender difference.
Me want cute pika
For real, the eeveelutions look so adorable, shame they ended up getting cut
The one-horned female charizard is probably a reference to the early design of the whole Pokémon, which was inspired by pterosaurs
Sorry to be this guy, but, um actually Houndoom kept the sexual dimorphism. Again, sorry to be that guy
Damn i went to check just now and it did. Now im scared and probably never want a female one. Its weird enough without ears but even stranger with smaller horns
You're not alone. I think most of these should have been kept. Even if it's just to make some species more interesting.
In the first video he mentioned it had them, so it's just a mistake on this script
I was sure that a few of these were kept...

Well...
Feels like Nintendo, being who they are, could’ve handled more sex differences. Not as many as were cut, but still could’ve had more.
Too bad Nintendo doesn't make the Pokémon games. They just publish them.
Nintendo?, they have little to no creative controll on GameFreak and the PokemonCompanmy
Now not only is sex the biggest word in the thumbnail, now it’s *G O L D*
This may just be the Mandela effect, but I feel like some of these were reintroduced for the Pokemon Go 3D models.
