- We Lost the Skyline (also Transmission 7.1) is a live recording by Porcupine Tree, recorded during an in-store performance at Park Avenue CDs in Orlando, Florida, with 200 fans in attendance. Although it was originally planned that the full band would play, lack of space dictated that only the two guitarists/singers Steven Wilson and John Wesley did. This one-off performance was captured by a remote recording facility and the complete 8 song, 33 minute show is now being released in a mail order only CD, but the band are currently negotiating a low-key release for the CD through a number of independent stores in the USA that have supported Porcupine Tree over the last few years (including Park Avenue CDs itself). However, the CD was released in Poland in small quantity.
If you have reached here, We will be a good friend. Trust me. I know how it feels to be PT's fan. Only you know that feeling. How you wish that you could show or tell this to the whole world but sadly no one cares as they are not ready for this music. Thats why, we will be a good friend. I understand this feeling. Wilson is magician 💓
true ❤
Its so sad, Porcupine Tree has had literally ALL the chances to become popular, they have some really good and beautiful songs that could make them popular, like trains or Lazarus, people just dont want to try something new. Thats why it is so sad, a hidden diamond of music industry, for me at least, like Pink Floyd
That's extremely true
I thank my friend who introduced this band to me many years back. I just wish him well cuz this band is just so special to me
Porcupine Tree is a band that plays beautiful music that sounds more beautiful live. This is a perfect example of that.
truly amazing. I was born in '94... the year this was written, a weird coincidence given that its one of my favorite songs from undoubtedly my favorite band of all time.
I see what you did there with your name
I just can't get enough of this record
Just wonderful. Beautiful song, amazing band
This is beautiful.
The moon shook and curled up like gentle fire
The ocean glazed and melted wire
Voices buzzed in spiral eyes
Stars dived in blinding skies
Stars die, blinding skies
Tree cracked and mountain cried
Bridges broke, window sighed
Cells grew up and rivers burst
Sound obscured and sense reversed
Stars die, blinding skies
Hello Neil and Buzz,
I am talking to you by telephone from the Oval Room at the White House
and this certainly has to be the most historic telephone call ever made
I just can't tell you how proud we all are of what you have done
For every American this has to be the proudest day of our lives
Because of what you have done the heavens have become a part of man's world
and as you talk to us from the sea of tranquility
it inspires us to redouble our efforts
to bring peace and tranquility to earth
Idle mind and severed soul
Silent nerves and begging bowl
Shallow haze to blast a way
Hyper sleep to end the day
I NEED THIS ON A VINYL !!! I've read the description so people, please, release it on Vinyl as well, there's still great following for these. Was on a God is an astronaut concert, seen 2 albums of theirs on vinyls and bought it immediatelly. This is the music to cherish and store for later generations, my Mom has records from Pink Floyd, Queen, Scorpions, Doors, Zeppelin, Deep purple and many more - I couldn't be happier to found these home.
Even now friends come over to listen to LPs of Pink Floyd.
+rusko dudesko What do you mean what do you play them on? A record player. Simple. Some people simply prefer the format. It's very... visceral.
*****
I more or less meant "exceptionally direct and physical." You can dislike it all you want, but you kind of lose all integrity in any sort of discussion when you decide to subtly insult the intelligence of anyone who happens to enjoy a certain thing.
Besides, music is just as much about primal, inward feeling as it is about exercising one's intellect.
love you JB, keep doing your thing
Thank you Vaibhav for introducing me to this music.
Shivers.
Here we go again...
beste live band, derzeit.
Love this so much. Anybody have any idea what this song is about?
+Jorrit Neerhof about how all things inevitably come to an end
amazing song...
Fantastic
I am here again ...
Yeah haha I come here too like once a month, just sounds so awesome
this sound ever better with HHD sound speakers
@Nancetha It's one of my favorites.
@SilkTopHat Thanks for your kind words! Are there any other Porcupine Tree songs that you would like to see uploaded in HD?
Is this maybe the reason why people should buy high end audio instead of a small ipod ^_^
the two PeoPle who disliked the song Probably doesn't enjoy the PEaceful sensation the song Provides
Sometimes people hit the wrong button. Seriously.
@SilkTopHat Then i do believe ill upload the remastered "Up The Downstairs"
Is there a live video concert for this album?
unlikely. Park Records is a very small record shop in the art district in Orlando. I go there often. Perhaps audience footage, as someone who was there i saw no cameras.
i think there's something worng with the viewer counter
ur right. half of it has to be me ;)
Reminds me of Camel :)
"Sentimental"
@2006geralt Its sad that the general public will never understand what "HD Audio" actually is. Ipods just don't cut it for great quality.
