Not really. Why does it need to be so manoeuvrable? I think they either built it for air superiority and then realised it couldn’t compete with the west.
Or it was built as a bomber and they realised it had great manoeuvres afterwards.
Either way, it’s a waste and Russia can’t compete with the number of Jets the US has and when you throw in Europe made fighters, well Russia doesn’t stand a chance.
@@d.tim1989 The Su-34 at the end of the day is a twin seat bomber development of the Flanker, one of the most maneuverable fighters in history. While yes it is a medium bomber first and foremost, it still has Flanker DNA built into it.

The Su-34 has proven to be very effective against unarmed Syrian farmers and hospitals. Just the same, the aircraft is a thing of beauty and this series is very well done and quite informative.
So as effective as all American planes built after 1945. Even then America still gets destroyed by poor countries. 😂

For all that it is an air show acrobatics star, as a combat aircraft in russian hands against a near peer adversary, it is a failure.
Russia has 10 times superior aviation than Ukraine but couldn’t conquer the sky in Ukraine, Russian army is very good in destroying civilian infrastructure, fighting army is impossible for Russia
They are great at destroying civilian infrastructure because the Ukrainians are great at using their own civilians as human shields
Russia is not using its air force against an ultra inferior Ukrainian air force. Tanks, artillery, and missiles are enough.
Also, those civilian infrastructures are where your ammunitions and bombs are hidden. You use civilians as your shield to make it look like the Russians struck your civilians.

It's not even capable of avoiding short range manpads I can well imagine what would be it's condition if NATO f16 is in air and some western air defence system is in ground. A junk airforce with some junk fighters which can perform only in airshows and against static dummy targets.
