Two things I noticed when I got mine: 1: you can actually remove the coins without opening it. There is just enough clearance for the tabs to come out. 2: the tabs seem to have been a necessary evil in this case. The switches inside are lever switches rather than push buttons, which might have taken more space. I'm quite happy with this one, both because it's lighter and because it fits in the buckle better. Too bad this one doesn't lock in backwards, but it's not a big deal to me since they don't show it that way in PR anyway.
That's bad for me, the fact that the new one can't be locked backwards makes it not Sentai accurate at all, you know, the Zyurangers wear them like that when they're not transformed. So putting Zyuranger labels on it won't make it accurate enough. 😔

The Legacy version was also used as a prop in Power Rangers Legacy Wars by Tommy and Ryu. The Lightning morpher is basically a fun kid’s toy which has many inaccuracies such as how the morpher is too bulky, the PR logo is too thin, and how there’s a big gap around the coin and morpher. The electronic features are pretty good but I wouldn’t spend $50 on it.
@@MarkyMarc89 The lightning collection version is supposed to replicate the 1991 Zyuranger Dino Buckler and 1993 Mighty Morphin' Power Morpher. Imo I find the lightning collection one more superior since the legacy one is far too heavy and the coins do tend to slip out if you're not careful.

VERY TRUE! ‘93 and the Legacy versions are so much better. I bought mine 2 weeks ago and one week later it kept reading 3 of power coins differently such as how triceratops kept saying mastodon and most of the time with the power coins in the morpher it kept making the static sound as if there are no coins. I now have to press the coin that’s in the morpher and press the button at the same time for it to work properly. This is definitely not worth wasting $50 on.
I missed out on the original legacy release. I'm just hoping that Hasbro takes the feedback/criticism and makes another legacy quality release for the Dragon Dagger. With both releases from Hasbro you're paying a $20 upcharge for the stand. The notion that kids don't have imagination anymore is bollocks. David White oh yeah. Great review, AccentRider. Since I never got the Bandai stuff, I'd happily get this version. Still would love to see their take on an Astro Morpher, Thundersaurus Morpher, and Delta Morpher.
Design-wise the original 93 morpher isn’t just more accurate, it’s literally what was used on screen outside of season 1 where they used the Zyuranger Dino and Dragon Bucklers. If we disregard size, design-wise the Legacy morpher is more accurate to Zyuranger, where the medals were aged and weathered and lacked tabs. It also features all the back detailing of which only the Z sticker section is accurate to PR and only during season 1, where it shouldn’t have bolts on it because they chucked the sticker sheets in the bin. That of course carries over to the Lightning morpher where it should also have no back detailing or only the Z section, but the coins are more PR accurate where they used the Japanese toys. That said the gap around the coin is inaccurate to either version. Lightning has the correct red button while the Legacy has black. The Legacy movie morpher is literally not accurate to any version of the morpher that actually appeared on screen. The holster they packed it with is just wrong, it should be mounted on a weird plate thingy with a different handle (though I appreciate you orienting it correctly in the video), almost certainly didn’t have any back detail (if it was ever even functional/removable). The front of the morpher is pretty good, though.
Actually, the Legacy Movie Morpher IS accurate to what's on screen. The colors of the claw marks matched the Ranger color, it didn't have the "Power Rangers" or "Zyuranger" labels around the coin, and they were a bit larger than the regular Morphers. However, in the movie, for whatever reason, the Rangers held them up with the holsters rather than just the morpher, making me think they were molded together rather than be separated.
@@buchiklop110 If you ignore the inaccurate holster (which was basically a chunk of colored resin in the movie with a handle), the back detailing that should be non-existent (assuming they were even using the toy and not a resin copy), the coins having the wrong finish, and possibly even opening at all (since we never actually see the morpher open in the film and the button sure wasn't easily accessible), sure, I suppose you COULD call it accurate. www.morphinlegacy.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/White-Power-Morpher-MMPR-Movie.jpg

Just so you know for the red ranger, when he says Tyrannosaurus they took it from the clip from the forever red episode in Power Rangers wild force. I actually bought the more for myself so I know what I’m talking about
Oof. Those stickers for the black claw mark things look really cheap. No idea why they didn't go with paint. Also not sure why they have that low hum at the end instead of the sound effect when Jason morphs and the camera zooms in on his helmet forming.

Probably not, Hasbro tends to do more online exclusives than con exclusives, and the past several years they had the con exclusives available online so you could get it without attending.
I really wish this had been another morpher it literally could have been anything else like jungle fury they really should have done that since jungle fury never got a modification but that’s just my opinion
I feel, given how they handle their figures, that they aren't gonna go in show order. They're probably gonna jump around different seasons, atleast I hope.
The legacy morphers Tyranno coin almost looks 3d like its Popping out of the center, the wethered coloration adds such depth to the coin making the tyrannosaurus appear to pop out at you in 3 dimensions 🦖🤯😵
One of the collectibles I had to get before retiring from collecting. I like this and the Green Ranger Legacy one equally, but better than the core 5 Legacy Morpher in my opinion and what made me like this is it looks and feels like the early 90s toy like you were saying plus I love how it has the morphing calls and Ranger colors.
Only the original legacy Morpher plays the original power rangers song? Or they all do?(should) They all light up color of specific rangers on all 4 different Morphers?
There are officially seven different kinds of Ranger Power Coins. Yes, I'm counting the Ninja Storm Power Disks. They are very much like the Power Coins.
To me any version of the imporved 93 morpher is a great option to go with for example if you aren't fortunate enough to get the OG or legacy this is the next best thing and like Dosm mentions Hasbro captured the OG look!! To me it fits that 93 asthetic look just wish it wasn't so bulky but just a minor nit pic they nailed the look of the coins to me as well
They never made a Legacy Black Ranger Morpher did they? I’ve got a White Ranger Movie one and I’ve seen Red, Pink, Blue, and now a Lightning Collection Yellow but not Black. Reason I ask is because I will be meeting Johnny Yong Bosch pretty soon and am trying to think of a good one to get signed. So far I got the original 93 Morpher Signed by him last time I met him along with the original Zeonizer. I’m considering getting the Legacy Morpher signed to match how I got the Green/White Ranger Morpher Signed by Jason David Frank along with the Movie White Morpher that he signed. Also the Legacy Morpher looks more aged kinda like how the Morpher looked when Adam came back in Space. This new Morpher surprised me with the colors changing to match the ranger (I love this) however I wish it had Adam’s voice too to match his autograph but it sounds like it’s locked into Zack so I’d probably have Walter Jones sign this one. The other reason I’m kinda leaning towards the Legacy Morpher is it was designed to work with the Ninja Coin Set so it works with both the Mastodon and Frog coins with similar matching designs. Just wishing they made a Black Movie Morpher. Do you have any suggestions on a good one to get signed by Johnny Yong Bosch?
The legacy one is a high quality replica, and the hasbro one it´s just a toy, it looks cheap... and has some potential issues, for example when the sensors wich match the tabs of the coins doesn´t work, the entire morpher will be ruined, or if one of the tabs of the coins fall out, then the coin won´t activate the electronics, also I think its probably that the gold paint of the coins will comes out for the use of switching them.

So is this out yet? I've seen so many PR youtubers review this. I also tried to buy a Dragon Dagger at my local Gamestop but they said they don't have them. Online store only. I'm really not trying to order everything online and wait 3 months for it to come.
Just so you know for the red ranger, when he says Tyrannosaurus they took it from the clip from the forever red episode in Power Rangers wild force. I actually bought the more for myself so I know what I’m talking about
Did anybod notice in the 90s release the buttons is on the rob like the decals and everything is upside down
What happens if you close the Power morpher lightning collection?
Oof. Those stickers for the black claw mark things look really cheap. No idea why they didn't go with paint.
Also not sure why they have that low hum at the end instead of the sound effect when Jason morphs and the camera zooms in on his helmet forming.
Is this worth buying at 120 usd?
I Already have the legacy morpher but I want one to play around with. The legacy one is in a display
“Stickler Meeseeks!” 🤣😂🤣😂 dead 💀
I managed to get the dragon dagger but i missed this went it went up on sale here in the UK (exclusive to a company i don't really use) AND i also missed the legacy morpher, so now i'm a sad panda, i really hope Hasbro do a second run
Edit : i found one - my coins are slightly inconsistent though not sure whats going on but it doesn't always match the colours properly - my biggest issues are with red and yellow
Can we put these as buckles to normal belts
I've heard that this thing has issues reading the clips on the Power Coins. A minor nitpick, but it looks good. It's a nice collector's piece.
It's the tabs on the back, real easy to reset the coin and get the right glow before you open the morpher
I have owned multiple and every one I have purchased has not been able to accurately determine which coin was in the morpher every time. Sucks returning something, to get another one, only to have the same issue. This would be great if it functioned properly.
@@reiddutchess9955 ouch. Honestly the QC for Hasbro has been hit and miss lately, and I'm not just talking Power Rangers. Transformers and Nerf have been having their own QC issues too.
The Legacy Morpher is a prop. This is just a kid’s toy as it’s way too bulky compared to the ‘93 morpher _(which I have and was used in the show)_ and the power ranger logo is also way too thin than the original version. The Legacy Morpher was used as a prop in PR Beast Morphers as Jason flipped the Legacy Power Coin and morphed with Rangers from other seasons. Tommy and Ryu also used the Legacy Morpher as a prop when morphing in Power Rangers Legacy Wars. Study this video *CLOSELY* _(pausing it continuously esp. at exactly __6:00__ and __9:00__)_ to see how “accurate” it is: m.ruclips.net/video/FKYPgrykZxI/видео.html
If you want to display it with the Legacy coin blu-tack is your best friend
DosmRider I really hope SPD is next
bandai japan did make an artisan version of the sp license for around $80-$120 if you don't want to wait for the lightning version. The artisan version has voice lines of the dekaranger cast and various lines and soundtracks from the show. It also comes with the fire squad license than Ban/DekaRed from the vs movie and 10 years after movie.
I hope we're getting a green ranger/white ranger version
Walmart has clearanced them for 50% off, if it wasn't worth it before it is now.
Does the stand resemble the motif of the Shogun zords in anyway? I feel like I can see that, especially where the coins sit
Hay there long time fan of your work. I’ve been wondering dose the black holster from the lightning collection compatible with the legacy morpher ? Cause mine broke and was hoping the lightning collection one can maby replace it
I can already smell that the green ranger and white ranger morpher will be an con exclusive somewhere 😒😒😒
You would think given how popular Tommy is they'd make his Morpher a standard release. But I fear you're right.......😥
Probably not, Hasbro tends to do more online exclusives than con exclusives, and the past several years they had the con exclusives available online so you could get it without attending.
Wait most of the reviews I've seen have said the black circle marks were painted on the LC version and stickers on the Legacy version
The "Z" stands for Zordon not Zyuranger for obvious reasons. 2:51
I can tell you the original sounds, it’s just a beeping, and the lights flash.
Does it comes with the stand
Yepp
Do you think hasbro will release power coins for green or white ranger or even a morpher specifically for tommy?
I really wish this had been another morpher it literally could have been anything else like jungle fury they really should have done that since jungle fury never got a modification but that’s just my opinion
David Murray ?
I feel, given how they handle their figures, that they aren't gonna go in show order. They're probably gonna jump around different seasons, atleast I hope.
The legacy morphers Tyranno coin almost looks 3d like its Popping out of the center, the wethered coloration adds such depth to the coin making the tyrannosaurus appear to pop out at you in 3 dimensions 🦖🤯😵
But can you stil make the master morpher with it?
Just got it off of eBay
One of the collectibles I had to get before retiring from collecting. I like this and the Green Ranger Legacy one equally, but better than the core 5 Legacy Morpher in my opinion and what made me like this is it looks and feels like the early 90s toy like you were saying plus I love how it has the morphing calls and Ranger colors.
is it possible to wear it like a belt buckle?
There are the clips on the back to hang it on your belt, but not a legitimate secure belt buckle.
4:12 what did he just say!
Only the original legacy Morpher plays the original power rangers song? Or they all do?(should)
They all light up color of specific rangers on all 4 different Morphers?
There are officially seven different kinds of Ranger Power Coins. Yes, I'm counting the Ninja Storm Power Disks. They are very much like the Power Coins.
I really wish you would’ve seen if the legacy morpher could fit on the stand.
It does fit
Wow, that’s really all the sounds huh...
More sounds than the legacy one
For the red ranger they did use a clip but it’s the voice from the forever red episode in wild force
To me any version of the imporved 93 morpher is a great option to go with for example if you aren't fortunate enough to get the OG or legacy this is the next best thing and like Dosm mentions Hasbro captured the OG look!! To me it fits that 93 asthetic look just wish it wasn't so bulky but just a minor nit pic they nailed the look of the coins to me as well
Huh... I am from India and getting this is a dream for me😞😞
Its Torphine Mine 💯💕❤️
How much does it cost
the coins not being the right size is just, oof. How do they mess that up? You shouldn't be able to see the tabs at all.
Do you have any suggestions on a good one to get signed by Johnny Yong Bosch?
i want to order how much
Lightning Collection Samuraizer, Hasbro make it happen
Idk if it’s in the video but I accidentally put my pterodactyl coin in upside down and it said saber tooth tiger haha
BANDAI Morpher has more ADULT Appeal (looks like an upper tier replica).... HASBRO Morpher has more Kid appeal (sounds and shit) 👍👍
I dunno, I know plenty of adult collectors who are hyped for the voice clips and the more accurate silver finish.
Dark legacy coin is the best one
And i think its more fitting for power rangers
Adam when he appear in space has a darker detail coin
Thanks for the review! Do you know if they sell the Green Ranger coin for this?
Not at the moment, but I'm certain we will get a Green/White Ranger release eventually.
My morpher won’t recognize my tyrannosaurus coin, it keeps reading it as the mastodon coin 😞
Turn it abit harder in the slot. I had the same issue
i want it can i have one where do you buy it i want it PLEASE
Why has NO ONE tried to test for Dragon does sounds?
These things really should include dragonzord and tigerzord
anyone know were to buy this
Amazon. I just bought a set for $94.
At Some point, I wanna get this morpher. I do hope they make Dino Thunder morphers. As Dino Thunder is my Favriote season.
I don't know witch. One I like the most
Awesome review
The lightning collection has accurately copied the original mmpr toy with larger size and coin reader and they accurately not put out a gold version like in 1993
What’s up dude like this power morpher for lightning collection thanks 😊🤩🤩🤩🤩
We are the people of the land come and take our happy hand 👐 bubble boy is the best
Zyuranger version ??
This come out on my birthday September 15 I will be 14
It’s already out
It’s not in stock I don’t know when will it will be back in stock but I will get it once’s it’s gets back in stock
The show morphers were the toys but the coins were velcro
Cool. I just found one someone tossed
HERE IS POKEMON STADIUM!!!!!!!!!
❗How does the LR Morpher know the difference between each Coin?
I liked to haved this morpher my problem was the toy was too expensive
But they made the background of the coina weing it ahould bw red not green
The hasbro power coin looks more like the original from the show.
Why legacy didn't use this gimmick too?
Atleast here the lightning collection got the botton right not like the lagaxy version
The bits sticking out of the coins kills this for me. Def never buying
