Fun Fact: The MMPR morpher opening up is meant to mimic a dinosaur egg cracking opening!
Learned something new today 😎
Cool! I didn’t know that
Thought it was a rock
How old were you when you learned that? I was today years old...
You are cool :)
Fun fact about the ninja battle morpher: The sentai version was a sidearm as the rangers used their swords to transform instead. That sidearm toy sold so poorly that when bandai of america adapted the toyline, they made it the morpher so it would seem more essential. On top of that, this choice ensured that the sword could be sold as a separate thing from the morpher, nudging kids to buy both.
Interesting. I was wondering why they didn't use the swords
I personally didn’t like those ninja battle morphers. they were bulky, and felt out of place. with the sentai version, having the transformation device actually be the sword made more sense. it also felt more versatile, allowing the rangers to transform and use their weapon at the same time.
Ah so that's why
Interesting fact, in the comics, its actually dangerous to morph without a morpher as thats a direct link to the morphing grid and it basically can harm the user.
Always felt the phone Morphers didn’t make sense but wrist morphers are more cooler.
I don't get it. You can't morph without a morpher anyway. So it's not really dangerous
@@AutoRevLife some can, he mentioned the exceptions
How does one morph without a morpher?
@@Siromuse Tapping into the raw power of the morphing grid, you basically switch between suits across the morphing grid.
Fun fact: In Space had a game mode where the morpher would call out numbers that you had to match. Difficulty and speed increased as you progressed, almost like a bop it. The morpher even saved your high score. Great video!
the shodophone is probably my favourite - it's an excellent transformation and both forms look very different in design and functionality, and the calligraphy brush works perfectly into the aesthetic of the series.
I love the magiphone for the same reasons!
@@tjppercussion that one is also really very good!
i also love that the shodophone is not only used for morphing but also for combat as well
I wish that Power Rangers Samurai had just used the Shodophone and Sushi Changer, at least just the Shodophone anyway. I was happy to see Lauren have that as her Morpher when she showed up (probably my favorite thing about that season)
On one hand, the Mobiarates is probably my favorite morpher solely for the versatility the user has to access all the Ranger team powers via the keys. But on the other hand, the Solar Morphers from Jungle Fury - at least in the context of the show and not the toys - can just make you look even more badass when you’re not morphed and are definitely the most well-hidden disguise.
Nobody:
RUclips Ads: TRICERATOPS, SABERTOOTH TIGER, Have a break, have a kit kat. 😂
I must've missed the episode in which that happened. 😂
🙈
I grew up with the disney era seasons, so phone/wrist morphers are my absolute favorite type of morphers. I absolutely hate weapon/gun/sword morphers, their just too big and bulky. I prefer my morphers slick and sexy
I like them too, but mainly because they're supposed to be secret. Hard to keep it secret if you're talking through a tiki head.
Except for the Jungle Fury Rhino morpher. Not sure why.
same. I've hated all the recent morphs cause they look so lame with the bulky ass morphers. Even Sentai is doing this. Patoranger vs Lupinranger has one of the bulkiest morphers and it looks horrendous when they use it to transform. Kyuuranger's morpher orb is okay, but the wrist-mount for the orb is humongous
@@kori228 I can understand disliking the bulky Morphers for certain seasons (I hate the Gosei Morpher because it looks ridiculous when they use it to communicate), however I feel the VS Changer and X Changer work well within the context of their series, and I love that the change gimmick is a part of the DX mecha toy line. I feel like it adds more incentive to collect the gimmick by doing it that way (admittedly I'm also just a really big LuPat fan, while I recognize not everyone feels that way about it)
@@kori228 Gun morphers are my absolute favourite types. Kyoryuger's had a revolving barrel as well as the ability to put multiple gimmick items in at a time, even combine it with the sword that took the same items, you don't get combination gimmicks with wrist morphers, just bulkier upgrade items. Not to mention how good the Zenkaiger gun looks and the compatibility with the Donblaster, even the Donblaster being able to give the sword toy new sounds for the final attack based on the gimmick item you inserted. I can't really think of any wrist/phone morphers that have that level of playability. You'd think at least the phone morphers would be able to connect to weaponry or the like.
And let's not forget the Go-Busters phone AND gun morpher.
8:14 - To be fair, the US release of the Overdrive Tracker did include the blacklight feature with several (5 or 6?) card chips to scan for secret messages, just like the Japanese release. The European release replaced the blacklight LED feature with a regular red one and didn't include the card chips however, so that made it pretty feature light.
11:09 - Some of those photos are the PR version and some are the Japanese version. The JP ver. featured an LCD screen that did full animations with "change", "call", "robot" (showing each mecha arriving and forming the robo!), mission countdown timer, and two games (there's a good video here: ruclips.net/video/CXHuMiU1mxU/видео.html) The PR ver. just had two static pictures on the screen with a light underneath. It was larger than the JP ver. & had different buttons too.
14:04 - Some more switching images between JP & PR versions. The JP Engine Souls were chunky like the props, had metallic stickers, and each had an LED and many unique sounds. The PR Engine Cells were just a thin, flat piece of plastic with non-metallic sticker that did nothing. Body-wise, the PR ver. was missing paint, chrome, had just a hole instead of a screen, and only 1 button moved.
A few things:
The Chrono changer in Japan had a game, unlike it's American counterpart.
The Rescue morpher didn't have an lcd display - only the Japanese one had that. But that had 2 (TWO!!) games on it! The American only had a little mirror-effect light up area in place of the lcd screen.
Congrats on the 100th video! Thanks for airing out the frustration that I share about the Dino Charge morpher lol. The gun spin was so cool and you couldn't even do it. Every time I saw the morpher in-store, I'd drop it on my foot so many times before I figured out it was missing the trigger guard.
Not only that but also missing the second battery slot. Which I really don't get since it's an avid part of the show and is needed for the armour on their arm.
The Mighty Morphin Morphers will always be my favorite, their belt buckles. Freaking belt buckles! I love it!
I get so tired of the wrist based Morphers. And while Megaforce and Super Megaforce were not the best seasons. I love the Gosei Morphers, to save the world utilizing a children's card game.
To be fair, we did get the Dairanger Aura Changer in some form with the Magna Defender Morpher in Lost Galaxy.
So dairanger is a gingaman😡 what should I call them? Daigager
@@nadimls3672 not exactly. Black Knight Hyuuga just used the sword and a big explosion to transform, but the Magna Defender uses a repainted Aura Changer to add to the dramatic impact of the morph sequence.
Cool that you used my Go-brace and Beast x Morpher comparison photo. At 14:45
The Gaburevolver is totally one of the best. But i agree the Gokaiger Morpher is pretty much the ultimate.
That latter device’s name is wrong, the Changer’s name is the Transformation Cellphone Mobilates.
@@avoprim5028 correction: Mobirates
@@nadimls3672 Where did that spelling of the device’s name come from, the one with the R where an L should be? I have always seen it spelled with an L, not an R.
@@avoprim5028 Its Japanese pronoumciation. L become R and R become L. So, Mobirate.
Lovely content mate
Been thinking of buying a morpher and remembered your poll from the other day.
This is a great video. Even if I'm not certain you know what "objectively" means. :p
The nostalgia I just felt seeing the Ninja Storm morpher! I had that one as a kid.
As Linkara claimed in his retrospective series, the toy Power Morphers from Mighty Morphin were apparently so show accurate that the crew would just go out and buy the toy when they lost or broke the props.
Also, 16:23, "Galwit Mysto Ranger". Is that what the voice-over guy said when the Mystic Force Power Rangers morphed? I always thought that he was saying "Calling Mysto Ranger".
I always thought it was "Go with Mysto Ranger"
It sure is. It took me a while to understand what he was saying because I thought he said “calling mr ranger” and I was so confused when the girls would morph. Also, when they summon their zords or go legendary, he’ll say “galwit mysto ermax” and “galwit mysto prifior” (apologies if these are spelled incorrectly)
It's because the magic words were tied to the buttons on the phone:
1 - Galwit
2 - Mysto
3 - Ranger
When the Rangers needed to cast a spell, they had to dial the three-number code first.
So as a note on the Movie Morpher, it is in the movie (you can barely glimpse one forming around a power coin when they morph) so its possible that it was made based on how it was supposed to work in the film.
I've always loved the phone morphers the most. It allows them to communicate and would be easier to explain away always carrying.
This was a super fun list! I haven’t been able to keep up with Power Rangers since I was a kid, so it was really cool to see and learn about all these different morphers. I agree with almost all of your list as well, with only a couple personal changes. Just me, I don’t care for the Dino Charge pistol morpher as it seems a little bulky and complex for what I like, so it would be lower. I’m also not a huge fan of the key based morphers, with the exception of Turbo because it fit the theme so well with its look and gimmick, because inserting and/or twisting the keys isn’t as easy as just pushing a button or making a single gesture to activate it. I also love the Mystic morpher a lot, and it’s in my personal top 3, because the cell phone gimmick served 3 different purposes as a morpher, a phone, and a magic wand that I think worked really well, and it’s functions were simple and quick to use. To me it’s the most unique and multifunctional morpher of them all in that regard, because even other cell phone morphers that were actually used as phone didn’t really have a third function the same way
he's the sole reason that I am still in school
I honestly just wish that they did more with the Pirate style rangers, there was so much fleshed out there and the designs were so good. But took a huge backseat to the rest of the show.
Yea I wish that they didn’t do super megaforce and made there own proper season with an actual good final battle man was that disappointing
Gokaiger was a brilliant Sentai series and if you haven't seen it I highly recommend you do. It will actually show you just how bad Super Megaforce really was.
@@jabbersthekillerrabbit5057
Super Megaforce had to be the worst-named season. I jokingly call it "Super Mega Awesome Force" in a loose reference to Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series ("super special awesome").
Its Morphing Time!
Let’s Morphin’. Henshin Da!!!! Get it, because, Tokumei Sentai Go - Busters, the, at the time of Beast Morphers Season 1’s release, 7 year old Sentai counterpart to Beast Morphers, with its transformation call of, “Let’s Morphin’!”, not only referenced @Power Rangers Official in general, but, also, was the official translation of the, “Henshin Da!!!”, phrase used in the Japanese dub versions of @Power Rangers Official, with the Japanese characters for the phrase being the Deluxe Morphin’ Brace’s, or, Beast - X Morpher in America, box. In the alternate reality of the Go - Busters V - Cinema direct to video epilogue film Go - Busters Returns VS Dobutsu Sentai Go - Busters, whereby the malicious computer virus known as Messiah did not attack, the device is still present, but the transformation call has been changed to, “Animal Change!”, and, unlike in the main Go - Busters world, the Brace does not speak.
I wasn’t expecting dino charge to rank as high as it did but I’m very happy it did!! It’s my favorite of the seasons and the characters are some of the best I’ve seen
The toyline was the best, right before the mess with the (Super) Ninja Steel toyline.
@@jennings861b8 I haven’t got too many of the toys left unfortunately, which makes me sad cause I love the series sm
Fun Fact, the keys from the super megaforce: Deluxe legendary morphers would actually be able to be used with the Legendary Megazord as you would be able to open the red zord and you would put the Ranger key of your choice inside.
I was always a fan of the simple wrist-worn morphers. Of course, they didn't have a lot to offer as a toy but from a more realistic point of view, I'd think a Ranger would want something easy to morph quickly. That's why I always hated morphers that doubled as a weapon and/or had to stuff inserted first etc. and required more time-wasting theatrics. So basically, the morphers between Zeo and Time Force, for example, still are among my favorites.
Correction on the light speed morpher:
With the US version, they replaced the LED screen and animations that the Japanese version had, with a silver painted one sided lens and two lights one for the ranger morph and the other for the zord. Which those were just painted on clear plastic and the red and green lights were on either end of the screen illuminating the respective picture . Red flashed for the morph that lit up the left side of the screen and picture of the ranger, green flashed on the right lighting up the picture of the megazord.
I hope your spd review comes up fast man miss your content man
Awesome 😊
I absolutely love the Gosei Morpher. It might be because I bought a lot of the Megaforce line, but it was so much fun and I really do like the design. What I love about the US toy line though is being able to connect it with the Gosei Ultimate Megaozord to create a base to display Gosei and the Rangers. Which I thought was super cool.
I pssed down to my nehphew my old robo knight and 2012 troy fig, and my old dragon zord balster
I was a big fan if megaforce and power rangers libe from 2012-2017(emd of super dino charge) since then. Blah. Like after dino. It just feels out of date
The original power morpher is my absolute favorite. You just can't beat the old classics.
Yeah I agree with the buying of pervious morphers. I'm in the process of doing a version of the Red samurai ranger that I use for Dungeon and Dragons, I had to spend 50 bucks on ebay because no where else didn't have them available
I actually had Tommy's dino mopher as a kid, came with the spinosaurus faceplate as well, took me ages to get the motions right and work without missing thr keyhole
Love it
I think they even used the Legacy Morpher back in the Dimensions in Danger special, so it's been screen accurate for a couple years longer even. Though it's pretty far in the background when Rocky uses it. But I think even the Master Morpher is just a modified Legacy Morpher.
I love the dino thunder one. I had the black dt one as a kid loved it
In regards to the turbo morpher, the key itself has a spring loaded opening mechanism, but I very much remember the section that rotates also being spring loaded.
lol ur new haircut is 2 funny ah ah
I remember as a kid, I was absolutely obsessed with the Power Rangers RPM morpher, specifically the green/black ranger’s version of the morpher, it was by far (and probably still is) my favorite ranger morpher lmaooo
In regards to the original Power Morpher I think I like the Lightning Collection version better than the Legacy Collection version for one reason. The Legacy Collection coins aren't a consistent size, so they can fall out (including my own not all fitting snuggly despite being sold in the box together brand new). You don't get that issue with the tabs of the original toy or the new Lightning Collection version. As someone who might like to use my Morpher for roleplay or cosplay I would very much prefer to not risk losing my coins because I jostle the thing a bit
Nice video now make another one for special rangers
My favorite will always be Dino Charge. Yeah, it’s not inconspicuous, but a Morpher that is a laser gun, shotgun and able to become a sword, all-in-one is just too good to pass up. 2nd would be Silver Super MegaForce’s with the Mystic Morphers in 3rd place. While, for Ninja Steel, I prefer when the Ninningers used their swords, I get why it became the Battle Stars as it’s easier to conceal.
Other way around. Conspicuous means it stands out. Inconspicuous is when something is easily overlooked.
how love to see you rank Kamen rider HENSHIN belts
In space should be in the top 5. That morpher is near perfection
happy 100 th
The power coin tabs are probably to keep the coins in there, as evident with the behind the scenes morph, in once and always, of when the power coin falls out . Though maybe they could have made it lockable from the back? Who knows
i always wished the doron changer was adapted as a morpher for the alien rangers, makes lots of sense considering it's esentially the same as the original (coin based)
That's one of my favorite morphers actually as it's easily hidden and it more or less is a compact version of the Dino Buckler. It's known as an inro in Japan and it was a purse essentially and they were handmade and nice looking things to have.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inro
Happy Meal's (or was it burger king?) morpher had the animal power coins. The coins were pretty good but the morpher is super thin.
For me: dino thunder, mighty Morphin, dino charge, and SPD Morphers are my favorites in power rangers.
I'm pretty sure the Super Samurai Morpher can be turned into a caligraphy pen phone which actually looks really cool.
yea i was rlly sad that wasn’t mentioned in the video
Not in the US version
I'd argue that the idea with reinventing the franchise is that sometimes you forego the staples of the franchise for the sake of something different.
Also, if anything, I think lack of morphers encourages play in children who can't afford all the roleplay toys.
I feel like of all the season Wildforce shouldn't have had morphers. Or at the very least not cellphones. They're a team of mystic, animal powered rangers who fight for the environment, I feel like their morpher shouldn't be something technological that ends up on trash heaps, and is often thrwon away by people to get a better model.
I think there's an issue with translating PR when it comes to the morphers. Like think about it: In Zyuranger, they're ancient tribal people who are gifted their powers by divine beings, so it makes sense why the morpher is so ornate and looks/functions the way it does. But for PR, it's all technology, so why the morpher looks and acts the way it does is strange in comparison.
@@mouthyschannel2474 I mean Zordon is also ancient.
And I'm pretty sure the environmental mmessage was also present in Wildforce's source material. Don't know about cellphones.
The coolest morpherer as of now is the Ohger Callibur including the Zero as well as the Kumunos Slayer. The design is not only cool but also very luxurious.
Had no idea they were making an abaranger memorial edition. Let us know when it's up for pre-order and where we can get it.
probably expect it to be revealed this fall since the 20 years after movie comes out later this year.
@@arkanamaster4961 mighty morphin was the best one
I always ended up getting the special ranger morphers. I had the howling wolf, the green samurai, Tommy’s black Dino Thunder morpher. It was really hard to get a hold of any morphers as a kid
So glad the Mystic Force Morhper was so high on the list. My favotire PR series
I think the only morphers I ever owned were McDonald's toys. I had a MMPR movie one that came with the ninjetti coins, then I randomly found an OO one on the side of the road.
Loved them both to pieces. Wore and played with Mighty Morphin as a kid. I thought the Operation Overdrive morpher was cool in its show.
Now now the zeo gold rangers morpher is his staff
Honestly mostly came here to watch where the Dino morphers ended up. I think they should've been nr 1. But that's also because Power Rangers Dino Thunder was my first PR show
When I was younger I had the blue and gold bandai solar mobile Morpher blade from mystic force alongside the overdrive tracker loved both can't remember for the life of me what happened to them
I know it would be way harder but what’s the chance we get a tierlist for the super Sentai counterparts?
Reduce morpher was different in us where it was mirror with ranger flashing where image shown in your video was the Japanese version
the 2017 movie rangers did have their morphers, they were built into the belt of their suits and held their power coins in place.
personally like the more simplistic wrist morphers. my favourite is either the lightspeed or turbo morpher. if we're counting special rangers, the titanium morpher is cool design wise too!
I ALWAYS say it's such a waste they skip on the Gekiranger fist changer and chose some lame sunglasses instead even when I was watching it as a kid
strange how in dino charge the main team had a gun and the 6th ranger had a wrist mounted morpher and in dino fury the main team had a wrist mounted morpher and the 6th ranger had a gun
Have you ever worked with Mr.WeenyProduction on a PR video?
Samuraizer seems way cheap compared to Shinkenger seeing it can't change into a brush from folding it
used to be a power rangers fan, this brought back so much memories, did they ever make the white rangers one from super megaforce
Hmmm not sure. And same use to be a fan. Joined in on samurai. Meh. Megaforce:hell i say s tier(the villians so memorable, and awesome zords) after dino charge and seeing thst red ranger be on fing american ninja warrior.
Ince past ninja steel. Like after ep1. "'I'm done" went to netflix and watched megaforce instead
Hey dude, you might find it interesting that the korean mobirates is the only version of the accurate Japanese mold that says the words "Power Ranger!" So technically it is the closest to a western super megaforce morpher with an accurate mold

Can you suggest a good place to buy the mmpr morpher in the uk. Struggling to find one for sale that doesn't require a small loan to buy.
I think you're gonna struggle to be honest, even the brand new master morpher barely got a release. Try after market things like ebay?
man when i was younger i got the keys for super mega force but never got the actual morpher
I will die on the hill That Power Rangers Dino Charge and Dino supercharge have the best accessories and gimmick merchandise
Crazy how ahead mmpr was.. with the wrist communicators being like Apple Watches
Actually the gold Zeo ranger sometimes does have a morphier it's very inconsistent and sometimes he's a very similar arm braces to the rangers and then sometimes he uses the staff and same thing with the arm movements it's also very inconsistent but sometimes he does sometimes he doesn't but I think it is widely assumed that Jason himself is the Morpher as unlike the normal zero rangers were part of the there zeo crystals were putting their Morphers his powers were just transferred directly into his body with the staff directing them to his body
When I was a kid, my Dino Thunder morpher toy didn't let the mouth stay open like it did on the show. I don't know if mine was just broken out of the box or if it was just supposed to be like that.
No, they were just like that. The Japanese Abare Braces did stay open because that was the function to transform.
The recent movie is, like, a Showa Driver but with a gimmick. Not a Changer/Morpher, a Driver. I think it woulda looked kinda cool worn as a belt, but I would never have thought that if I wasn't more of a Kamen Rider fan than a Sentai/P. Ranger fan.
Shoot, with all the swirling, it kinda reminds me of Agito's Altering!
i got my mystic force morpher for a £1 in a car boot sale a few weeks ago and replaced my red ranger in my Phoenix Unizord in total spent £2 and then said to guy his spd morpher marked to low needs to be £10 plus
About Bandai's 2017 movie morpher. The tech they used in that is the same tech that they used in a lot of their Showa era Kamen Rider belt reworks. Namely the original Typhoon Belt and the Arcle from Kamen Rider Kuuga. So they just made a retooled casing and sound chip to go along with a lot of the similar lighting construction. Of course adding the opaque "coin" concept. Not saying its a good design. Just saying thats what they did.
OG all the way! The best is Tommy’s that has all his suits!
I cant even get chrono morpher in good condition under 100 bucks, it would be so easy to remake is just a single one for every ranger

I'm honestly surprised we haven't gotten morphers based on clothing, the closest we've ever gotten has been the solar morphers from Jungle Fury. Are you really going to tell me that you cannot incorporate the morpher into those sweet jackets a lot of the teams get?
Where would you have ranked the special ranger ones like titanium, magna defender, quantum, etc..?
I'll be honest i perfer super sentai morphers then power rangers morphers cuz theyre more authentic then PR (except MMPR they are authentic)
Did the Overdrive Morpher keep the blacklight feature from the Boukenger Morpher?
it did yes
@ArkanaMaster Well, that's one point to the Overdrive morpher if you ask me.
I use to have the Dino Thunder Morpher but sadly lost it and have no idea how
They did release the ninja animal coins as a fast food toy. I used to have all of them
When you talking about Morphers from Power Rangers I personally just think of changers from super sentai and by the way, super sentai is The source material of Power Rangers
I am from Bangladesh and I want to buy power rangers accessories. Can you tell me how I can buy those?
THE GOLD ZEO RANGER HAS A MORPHER!!!!
I do wonder how you put the Cosmic Fury morpher here....
Given the issues with (at least) the Legacy Green/White ranger morpher not holding the coins in very securely(again, not sure if it was just that morpher or if that included the standard/movie ones too) I don't mind the tabs on the coins of the Lightning collection versions, as it holds the coins in very securely.
If I were to use one of the two I have for cosplay, I'd use my Master Morpher no question because I'd always be scared of losing the coin if I used the legacy one, even if I taped it in or something.
