@@MichCoccaBene it helped me so much. I was spending maybe 500 a year on new palettes foundations etc. I'm so over it. I'm a cosmotologist. Don't throw anything away unless it smells spoiled. I never really thought about it before but when I think about the colors that calm me and make me happy it does make sense. My colors are blue tones...teal, turquoise and browns anything from deep russet to light sand or oatmeal. I'm a water baby, always have been. The blue ocean waters meeting the sandy beach. Those are the colors of my living room.
Betty O you can decorate your house in a coastal style. There are two types of coastal, the regular and the California style. Look for the one that speaks more to you.

I needed to tell you. You videos have literally changed my life. I started watching you quite some time ago but being a very “minimal” you tube watcher they were interesting but not what I thought of as life changing. THEN I learned more about minimalism. I have been an over the top consumer. 5 years ago I moved to Florida with nothing and was soon bursting at the seams. Kristine, I love this video you’ve created for us. Even though years ago I was told my color palette is “Winter”, I am now gravitating toward the lighter neutrals also. I love the calm, clean-ness of “embrace the space” as you put it. Thank you for sharing! 💕
Dear Christine . Congratulations on your move to minimalism. I have been following you since almost 3 years. I loved your videos even when you were a hoarder😘 but i think minimalism has added more beauty in your life and videos too. Stay blessed. Love n blessings from India
I like sage greens, warm browns, a pop of leopard print, and some deeper reds. That's my comfort zone the last 8 years. Who knows, maybe it will change later. Not a fan of clutter though, but not a minimalist. I have reached what makes me feel content. :) I really enjoy these videos!
I can't tell you how much I love all these recent videos. I am so glad you found a great groove that so many of us love and need. I am going home today after work and I am going to go through everything I have and donate and dump a ton of things I dont need that clutter my energy.
I've always been a minimalist to the point where people think I'm moving when they walk in. I just don't really like to take care of a lot of stuff and even seeing knickknacks makes me crazy. But it's not for everyone....
I also feel calmed by white and earthy wood tones, but I especially love them with deep , rich, jewel toned accents. I love so many aesthetics but don’t necessarily want to live in them, so I struggle to differentiate between liking and actually wanting it for my space!

Omg me too! It was relaxing to me. I rewatched her declutter makeup vids so many times cuz they just relaxed me. It was like asmr before I knew what that was.
Omg i watched your videos a few years ago when i was in highschool. You were into this hot pink leopard prints thing, and now white minimal style. It’s lovely to see how much we both have changed in just a few years.
as far as color palette for me, people have said for years how they always notice that warm, autumnal colors compliment my complexion and look best on me personally. i definitely tend to lean more towards those warm, natural colors with hints of pastel blush pinks. my home decor, makeup, clothes, etc. all follow the same color palette and it's so calming for me when i see tones that are very warm, neutral and natural! colors that stress me out just by looking at them would be hot pinks or reds, bright colors or neons, and almost any sort of purples. so i definitely feel you when it comes to color psychology!
Ok I don’t even know how to tell you how perfect this video is! You’re explanations, reasons, your tone of voice your visuals were perfect! And that’s all I have to say about that! Lol ty so much. 😍😍❤️❤️😘😘😁
Hi Christine...I'm so glad you touched on color psychology. I'm constantly striving to surround myself with the colors that make me feel good and bring me peace. My color pallet is mostly white with some lighter grey and sand tones and accents of pale aqua, green (lots of plants), and a small amount of black or dark brown. The vibe that my home gives is so important for my mental health. Great video!! Thank you 😊
I'm not a minimalist and find that whatever I get into, I become a bit obsessed. it's good to understand a spectrum of viewpoints. A huge part of life is experiences. I subscribe to: Mindful buying, find your definition of minimalism, one in and one out, embrace space. Decluttering and organizing my space always brings clarity and reduce stress for me. While I will always love skincare, makeup, clothes, one major change we incorporated a few years back was to stop shopping at Costco or buy in bulk. Our grocery list is just for food we'll be cooking for that week so by Friday night, our fridge & freezer is nearly empty. It has been such a struggle to get my husband to buy items that are on our grocery list- he's got a little hoarding problem.
I’ve been following you since your makeup tutorial days, I love the fact that we’re growing in the same direction and I can still look up to you for advice and inspiration. Less clutter (external and internal) definitely make what matter the most shine through.
Minimalism became a thing when someone, about 10 years ago, started selling it. I've been a minimalist since I was 15, so almost 30 years. It was not a thing back in then. It's just how I like to live. Do your thing and forget rules! Life ebbs and flows. Go live it!
I loved this video, I am motivated to go organize and de clutter right now :) As for colors, I have gradually gotten rid of anything colorful in my house and everything has been repainted neutral and I have all neutral decor. I realized that makes me feel at peace over the years. My sister on the other hand loves aquas and blues and that is her calming color.
Christine, once again thank you, back in the day, you have inspired me to declutter my space and to look at minimalism, but my own minimalism. I have a mental disorder and just imagine clutter gives me anxiety, it helps me a lot to be more mindful of what i have and what i really want. Kisses from France!!!! My color palette is blue (light or dark), white, grey, lavender and cream, earthy tones! White make me feel light and cloud like, and blue for the ocean and the night sky soothes me!
My color palette is really changing. 5 years ago I moved to Florida and felt I needed a total sunny palette so I used a lot of orange and turquoise. As I progress into minimalism I am using less and less bright colors in everything... make up, clothes, home decor. Like you I I’ve pastel blue and ALL of my furniture is white cream or natural wood. Now to just keep eliminating the clutter. That job seems overwhelming and endless at times. I moved here with nothing but now.. And the clothing... it’s the nicer quality pieces I wear. Everything else just takes up space
I just found your channel. I love soft, calm colors. Our walls are taupe and beige. I love shades of lighter blue and teal. I do love white but that wouldn’t work with our animals.
It’s been a couple years since I watched your decluttering closet videos, and wow your space has really transformed in terms of more minimalist and design! Looking forward to watch more videos about your journey :)
Sage Green and a gold accent, (along with monochrome warm greys) makes me feel safe, calm, and decluttered both mentally and physically. I can't handle bright or really light colours. It's too stimulating and busy for my brain. And especially certain colours or bright hues paired together are hard for my eyes to tell apart-- like it's weird, not colourblindness, but for example if I see hot pink writing/image on a lime green background it blurs and becomes like visual TV static that I can't read or discern. It's the weirdest thing. I'm glad to have come across your channel. Thanks for this! I needed a reset. :)
Thank you Christine, very inspiring and I love your design taste! I would feel super relaxed and at home in that space as these clean whites, earthy textures and plants are my favourite in home decor. I wanted to subscribe to your channel and suddenly realised - I already am! :D Would be wonderful to have a summary list in the video description if possible.
These are helpful tips! I stopped watching makeup channels because of their drama. But I didn't think about how not watching them lowers your need to buy more collections. You decor is peaceful and calming.
I never thought but find interesting about influence of colors to mood. I love wearing and seeing green but like you I like a lot of white gray in home.
Great video. Since you asked; my color palette is dark walnut furniture, golds, green/blue's and gray. I also try and go for a midcentury aesthetic with the colors I like. In other words, the furniture pieces need to have a particular look and style in addition to color. Red, oranges, and yellows in home decor give me a cluttered anxious feeling. I also had any sort of wood that is lightly colored or has red/orange undertones. I only like wood that is really dark and tone-less.
It's crazy I've watched you on and off for so long.. from the days your closet was full of pink colors and leopard prints? then huge declutter, move from maui... such a big change you've had! good for you
Love this video. I love the empty space. I couldn't stop staring at the beige outlet on the white wall though. I guess that's one negative to minimalism... you notice the little things. I am definitely inspired to go back through my own house and re-curate now. Thank you!
Christine, I so enjoy your channel. Please keep sharing. For me ‘ outer order brings me inner peace’ has been a guiding focus and I appreciate your perspectives. Please expand on these tips in future videos.
I love a very dimmed color palette . I love rainy days they bring me life and uplift me . I love a cozy cabin feel i am the most inspired on a gray cozy day. I freak out at bright colors its a little too over stimulating a bright sunny day I can take in small doses. For example it hurts my eyes to watch your content (not criticizing) but you have so much good information and I love that . Thanks for asking !
I’m amazed by minimalism. I go through my closet and then go on a shopping spree. I love love fashion and makeup. How can I begin to live with less? It’s scary to live in an empty space. Feels clinical. Do you ever miss shopping for new things for house or yourself. ? I really want to at minimize. My shopping gets crazy- help!
Your videos have really inspired me on my view of buying and cleaning. I stopped buying clothes because they were on sale or impulse buys and now I tell myself do I really love this, do I really need it, and will it last long! Also putting items in my cart and waiting a couple days on it to see if I still think about it and want it. My colors are definitely soft muted tones. I love light/blushy pinks and soft pastel purples, blues and greens. I also really like pearly off white and light grey! For sure a more pastel person! My mom on the other hand loves neon and deep colors but I do not like deep purples and red at all!
This is wonderful information Christine! Thank you so much! I've been good about not buying into the hype and slowly working to have less. I have so many clothes to still get rid of tho. Lots of love to you!❤
Thanks for this Christine - Yes, I remember watching you go through your first declutter phase yrs ago - which I can't believe it's already "years ago"!!!! The way you went through each category etc, It was so inspiring that I still will go back periodically for inspiration! Thanks for caring & sharing! You're a true Gem! ♥
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! It’s the make up for me too. And the way you described not needing the newest products just hit home. I am going to really get more minimal.
My colour pallette is white, grey and aqua. I love a pop of mustard I find it happy and warming. Aqua clears my mind and I really love natural wood, wicker, plants, stone. Natural materials remind me of my favourite times at the beach or camping. It brings nature to me :)
Grey and white is very relaxing for me. My home colors are grey and white partly because it's been trendy so there are so many things available in grey. I tend toward white, grey, black and navy in clothes. They make me feel relaxed, cozy, and polished and I work on getting all the pieces to work together - like a capsule wardrobe. All these colors are very natural to me. I love bright colors too but just don't have them in my home and closet.
Just found your channel. I agree that minimising your routines is just as important as minimising your belongings (to me anyway). My makeup drawer was full and I never really wore much now I only have the following items (and everyone's essentials will be different) : 1 mascara, 1 tinted balm, 1 lipstick/blush, 1 tinted spf. I also simplified my skincare routine: I use rosehip oil with a hot linen cloth to wash, then rose or lavender water as a toner and then finish with more rosehip oil as a moisturiser. Super simple it's lovely and my skin is the best it's ever been
I’m so late to this party. I’m literally in the middle of cleaning out my garage and taking a break. I just came across this video and it has inspired me to get rid of far more than I was going to. Thank you🙏
You’re so right about colour and mood. It’s so true. My aesthetic is same as yours whites beige earthy and greenery, boho style. I feel a little uncomfortable around loud colour in my home and my wardrobe.. Loving your vids.
You are so right. Skincare from the inside out should be taught in schools; it's that important. I use all-natural products for my skin, which can get pretty expensive for most. But, for me, it's more about watching what I put in my body. This works so well for my skin that when I do use the expensive all-natural product every day, I need very little in portion size in each tx. I love all-natural earth tones in my home with a single pop of color here and there. I like white, terracotta, cream, browns, and gray-blue and sage green tones in my house. During the fall, I love to surround my self with the fall colors. I am very attracted to Burnt Umber. I seem to change with the season, now that I think about it. I am brand new to your channel. I just happened to come across it by accident. A happy accident, of course. I really like what you have to say and find that we are like minds. I am a late bloomer compared to you as far as minimalism goes. It is something I always wanted but I didn't know that's what was missing. I have had that something missing feeling for a long time, and ironically it was that not enough was missing. The less I have the more at peace I am. I think more clearly and I am more creative. I have a craft room that is not minimalistic at all. LOL. But it is very organized, so it seems minimalist. Beading and weaving is my weakness.
All of your points you’re making are spot on!! This year I am focusing on all of this!! I’ve been getting more away from color and using and loving more of the natural elements and lighter tones! My closet is my focus in Feb, along with the bathroom and closet! Declutter! I just got married 2 months go, so this year is the year of ORGANIZATION!! Thank you for all of the advice!!!! Have you written a book?! You are amazing! Love your style. Thank you! You have a new subscriber. ✌🏼Christina
New here: and loving your tips AND your decor. Simple calming colors in a minimalist style, but with natural touches making the spaces warm & inviting. Can’t wait to check out your other videos.
Hi, Christine! I just found your channel this evening. Your home is beautiful! While I love white, I lean toward jewel tones in my clothing, with lots of black. Grey is my neutral; I can't do tans, beiges, browns--they depress me. My bedroom is a cozy funky bohemian vibe, mainly bright yellow, like daffodils, and bright Caribbean blue. Right now, my living and dining rooms are black, grey, white, and red. I subscribed to your channel. Thank you for sharing, sister!
Minimalism for me has turned into a lifestyle. I have decluttered my house to only have items that serve a purpose in my life. It has made such a difference in clean up time & laundry. I am much happier with just the items that I need. I make a list of things I "need" if there's something that comes to mind. It stays on that list for a bit until I am absolutely sure I do need it, in order for me to bring it into my house. Teaching those same habits to my sons, so that they can also live intentionally in their future homes.
Great vlog as usual. I think color so effects me and so does odor. As for color, cream white with a pale pale blue or pink with a drop of green or brown from nature. ahh Shape makes another big difference as I watch trees go through season, plant leaf shapes and flowers.
YOU ARE who gave me the very first inspiration 💝💕 many many years ago with your Less stuff-less stress videos. I can't tell you how many times I've watched them since then - last time a few days ago. I love all!!! 💌 so THANK YOU Dear Christine 💌🙏🏻 Oh...and I still love your beautiful necklaces I bought that days💎 and "in the name of minimalism"....I kept its packaging along with the lovely greeting card 😉🤗💌
I love number 4. As an educator my minimal clothing needs to possibly be more than someone who might not work outside their home and workout clothes. But minimal amounts as needed that are quality.
Christine, i absolutely love your taste of beauty and style💚. My most loved colour is dusty rose. I am obsessed with it. And when it's combined with cream colour and natural wood( my preference is Birch) it is just magical!
this really inspired me! i love the idea that everyone has their own personal color palette based on their unique features/tone/etc. also, need to get to decluttering my makeup!!
I’m in the very slow process of changing the colors in the interior of my home. I’m painting the interior a white called Swiss coffee. My ideal color palette is whites and creams with accents of light to medium blue, green (sage and olive) and terra-cotta. I have a lot of wood and I love natural organic pieces, like wood , metal, pottery, plants etc. I must work around some items that are not idea, but would be too costly to replace. I know that less is more and I like the look of space between things. Still working on getting rid of Items. It’s tough when you can’t get rid of other people’s stuff. But I have enough of my own to keep me busy.
1. Be mindful and intentional with purchases (do I need it/love it/make me money?)
2. Let go of things no longer serving you
3. Find your version of minimalism
4. What's the right amount for what you do?
5. Less makeup
6. Less skincare products
7. Less hair products
8. Less nail products
9. Less clothing/fast fashion
10. Go for form and function
11. Find your color palette
12. Embrace open space and clean surfaces
13. Make it easy to clean
14. Something comes in, something comes out
15. Go for larger items, but less number overall
16. Create an environment that reflects the qualities you want to grow
17. Keep a wishlist
18. Skip impulse buys
19. Delayed gratification
20. Minimalism is a tool
21. Create visual interest vs visual noise
22. Refine and hone a little more each day

Yes to updated skin, nail and pedicure videos please. I have been following since PinkSoFoxy days and enjoy each phase you share. We all grow and evolve in life and I appreciate you sharing your life for as long as you have. You feel like a friend to me. 🙌🏻😘
I loved the noises that were made when you were decluttering your makeup many years ago. Like the lipsticks tapping the container!
My colours that I love is a rich purple for my bedroom, and living room. Then mint greens and light blues for my wardrobe.
as far as color palette for me, people have said for years how they always notice that warm, autumnal colors compliment my complexion and look best on me personally. i definitely tend to lean more towards those warm, natural colors with hints of pastel blush pinks. my home decor, makeup, clothes, etc. all follow the same color palette and it's so calming for me when i see tones that are very warm, neutral and natural! colors that stress me out just by looking at them would be hot pinks or reds, bright colors or neons, and almost any sort of purples. so i definitely feel you when it comes to color psychology!
Go live it!
When I was a kid in the late 80's and through the 90's it was called : voluntary simplicity.
@@LisaIsabelle yes I remember this term!
Oh, does this mean I have to get up from my recliner?
Haha, joking
Truth!
Everytime I move, I purge more and more. I think moving into smaller spaces helps too.
3 minutes in. Christine, I like "cozy minimalist". I right away thought 'that's me'.
Delay gratification....love this! I have always done this and live by this!💚
I love aqua, tan and coral. Those are the shades around my room. They remind me of the summer and beach which relaxes me and calms my mind.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICES.
Would be wonderful to have a summary list in the video description if possible.
I used to watch your makeup videos, and was so happy when I saw you change into a simpler way. So proud of your journey.
Skincare video please!❤️. Also, hair care. I’m looking to make my hair more healthy. Thanks so much, Christine. Love your videos.
😅. The Chase. Yes, that’s me. I shop out of boredom. Buy & Forget about it.
Thank you!
You’re so insightful and you have helped me so much! I de cluttered so much and now have mental clarity. Thank you!
Christine, I so enjoy your channel. Please keep sharing. For me ‘ outer order brings me inner peace’ has been a guiding focus and I appreciate your perspectives. Please expand on these tips in future videos.
I’m inspired today. This has changed me. I’m making changes right now..it just makes sense
Thank you for sharing I have been getting rid of a lot from my closet and blessing others good info
I've always been a minimalist and you're adding a new piece of inspiration to my life!
Yellow is my favorite color, it makes me feel happy and uplifted. Secondly is green because it feels fresh and clean and helps me breathe easier
Fortunately, my husband and I both like the same colors: blue and grey. Like to add white and light green to mix it up around the house.
my color palette is olive green, taupe, gold and burnt orange! those colors make me feel so good neons definitely bring me down (oddly)
This was such an inspiring video and was done so beautifully. I love the clips that were inserted perfectly!❤️
You are literally goals! Your diet, your wardrobe, your decor!! Love it! 💗
As for color, cream white with a pale pale blue or pink with a drop of green or brown from nature. ahh
Shape makes another big difference as I watch trees go through season, plant leaf shapes and flowers.
I became a minimalist a few years ago and it’s so liberating.
YOU ARE who gave me the very first inspiration 💝💕 many many years ago with your Less stuff-less stress videos. I can't tell you how many times I've watched them since then - last time a few days ago. I love all!!!
💌 so THANK YOU Dear Christine 💌🙏🏻
Oh...and I still love your beautiful necklaces I bought that days💎
and "in the name of minimalism"....I kept its packaging along with the lovely greeting card 😉🤗💌
I love watching those videos too!
@@cherylmayers5394 👌😘
Love this! Please film the skincare routine and closet declutter! :)
Love this style. White, natural, pure and light 💡🌿
Thank You🙏
Finally a minimalist that features the perfect balance between beauty and balance. Thanks
Love the stand up desk! Where did you get it please? Name brand?
Coral , Caribbean blue , white . Calm and relaxing with tropical plants and shells .
this really inspired me! i love the idea that everyone has their own personal color palette based on their unique features/tone/etc. also, need to get to decluttering my makeup!!
Really good advice. Love your style and your home looks so clean and fresh
Very good video. Even for people who have lived a minimalist lifestyle for years, you listed some very insightful and inspirational points. Thank you.
