I grew up in a huge 3 story house with stuff and clutter in every room, 3 cars 2 motorcycles and a golf car + a huge garden with a lake and a small pond. Now I live in a 2 bedroom apartment, dont own a lot of stuff and live pretty simply, and I love it :)
Vera, I'd love to see you talk more about our digital lives. A tip for phone, social media, digital file hygiene. I remember you talking about dedicating a tray/specific spot to your phone, and a decluttering tutorial for digital files. Would you be interested in doing more of that? I know I'd love to see more! It’s all beautiful! My apartment is close to the same size, but it only has 1 bedroom. Yours is a more practical use of space. I LOVE that the toilet is separate, you don’t have to worry about “spraying” when you flush! The balcony will be a fun project. I’m glad you found this place ✌🏼🌱
Thank you so much!! Yes, our old apartment was a little bit bigger, but close to the same size, and it also only had 1 bedroom. I have to say, I really like having a bunch of smaller rooms as opposed to two large rooms (living and bedroom). Somehow it makes everything much easier to decorate and organize. And yes, I agree about the spraying hahaha. Thinking of having a toilet in the bathroom always has kind of weirded me out in a way, because the bathroom is supposed to be where you get clean. :) So I also really like having them separate. But if you clean and disinfect it regularly, I'm sure it's no problem. :)
@@SimpleHappyZen It does seem easier to organize things with multiple rooms. Probably seems less cluttered since stuff is spread out too! I clean my bathroom each week, but now I want a separate room for the toilet haha!

thank you so much!!! :) Yes, it the change in neighborhoods makes a world of difference. It's not exactly quiet here, it's still the city, but it's definitely more peaceful and a lot safer. It's also much cleaner, no more trash on the street everywhere. We're very grateful to have found this place :)
I loved the living room. Especially the dining table and chairs and the Oak furniture. It’s very peaceful and welcoming. My mind was racing with ideas for your bedroom and office area and balcony! I know you’ll make each of these space’s beautiful in time and that’s the fun of buying a home of your own. You can live in it for a while and enjoy gradually improving each area. I chuckled when I saw your office bookcase and “The Tao of Pooh’. After your wonderful vlog talking about that book, I ordered it straight away and have loved diving into its delightful wisdom!
Beautiful home! I love the simplicity, so serene. My own home has many more things. I love to decorate and use color, but like you i keep my bedroom very simple, with minimal decor and white bedding to make that space serene. Congratulations on your new home. I guess my favorite space would be the living/dining room. I have done something similar in my home office with hairpin leg lower furniture, floating shelves, a wall mounted trailing plant, a canvas art print and a wooden magnetic chalk board.
Vera, I particularly love how the flow of the hallway goes into the living room, that makes it feel really cozy and bigger, also placing the couch away from the wall does make it feel much larger and visually pleasing, putting things higher on the wall also is a great idea to make the place look larger and more interesting, you’ve done a great job with all the pops of color, the coral is my favorite, loved the apartment tour, can’t wait to see what you do with the balcony 🪴
Thanks Joan!! Yes, I love that too, about the hallway opening up into the living room. Actually this place used to have a very different layout, but the previous owners made it much more open. So the hallway used to be separated and there was a door opening up into the living room. So I'm very happy they did all that work opening it up haha, because it's so much nicer now.
Hi Vera, your apartment is very beautiful. At the moment, my favorite space is the living room as it's obvious you put the most love into it and I really love the colors you choose although they are not my favorite colors, they are so lovely and fit with you own coloring so well.

I didn't realize it as I was doing it, but later on someone else mentioned it and I was like: oh, that's what I've done! haha. It's funny to think about which colors we're naturally drawn towards.
@@SimpleHappyZen so true! I'm an autumn probably and those are the colors I'm drawn too the most in my clothing. in interiors I like it a bit more light and monochromatic, but still with touches of earthier colors and textures ☺️
Your new home is lovely! You have quite a talent for design. I hope you two are enjoying the new space. I think my favorite thing about it is that the balcony gives you access to the outside at any time you want!
Our homes share so much in common Vera, from the soft colour palette of blues, greens and light woods to the round dining room table and chairs. I used to have a trendy bedframe which was difficult to assemble, very low and not particularly comfortable. Would not swap my divan bed which is super comfortable, easy to transport/assemble and has 4 large drawers underneath for storing bedlinen, towels, nightwear etc. Bathroom colour not my preference either but if it is brand new would be a shame ( and very expensive) to replace. I think by simply adding white towels the space would look much fresher. A fresh green or blue paint above toilet will look lovely but id probably add a picture rather than shelves. Shelves may be difficult to clean and clutter builds so easily. Even our choice of bedlinen is very similar- i have one good quality cotton set which goes back on bed after washing and never needs ironing. YES please to a wardrobe tour! PS im with you 100% on removing shoes and when i move next year im hopeful for a hallway which will have room for shoe storage and hooks for coats etc ! I too find your home serene. I love your choices of furniture and appreciate your explanations of why you've made selected certain items. I miss seeing any image art on your walls (I have a few selected items in most rooms. It's also another way to bring in color and positive energy. Your home is very warm and inviting. I love what you have done with less stuff and yet it still feels complete. I am trying to resist the urge to BUY the things you have in your home that I don't have in my home and instead think "What do I already HAVE that could serve the same purpose. (Like the ladder holding the throws) My first instinct is "Oh I need to get one of those..." Which defeats the entire purpose of this video right? Same thing with the ads and sponsorships. I have to resist the urge to purchase because you are encouraging us to live with what we already HAVE😊 Not buy this thing to fix your problems

My husband and I recently renovated our apartment with new flooring and I'm trying to keep clutter and ornamentation to a minimum. This change has felt very liberating, as if a huge weight has been lifted from our shoulders. I love your style of simplicity and realize I still have a long way to go to achieve similar goals. I love that you don't have electronics in your bedroom! I am currently staying with my parents and they have a large tv mounted on the wall of the room I'm in. Plus I have to work in my room and I have a lot of "stuff" that I use and there's no where to put it that is convenient. When I'm able to get my own place, I will definitely keep the electronics & miscellany out of my sleep space.
What a lovely apartment 😊 I like the layout of it and also the fact it has a balcony. We had a lovely flat when we first got married, that overlooked a sweet garden, but we could only access it by leaving our flat and going all around the back of the building, so to have an out door space is brilliant IMO. I love your sitting room dining room, it looks clean. Spacious and has natural light. I like the way you’ve decorated it’s as well The plans you have for future decoration of the rooms sound great 😌 I hope you are both very happy there❤

Thanks for the tour. It looks like a great space. Give the bathtub a go! You know what an integral part of Japanese culture the evening bath is. Also a cool (not cold) bath is a great way to bring down your temperature on hot summer evenings before bed. Also, yes - blackout curtains make a huge difference - great choice. I love the light and relaxing look your home brings. Having a natural colour scheme with pops of favourite colours blends so well. Having just a few items on services brings them out nicely to see. I added little 40cmx20cm sink to the wc, built little box for the wc rinse system and on top of that a rectangular sink (hangig over a bit), it has a little hand shower too.

thank you so much!!! :) Yes, it the change in neighborhoods makes a world of difference. It's not exactly quiet here, it's still the city, but it's definitely more peaceful and a lot safer. It's also much cleaner, no more trash on the street everywhere. We're very grateful to have found this place :)
I loved the living room. Especially the dining table and chairs and the Oak furniture. It’s very peaceful and welcoming. My mind was racing with ideas for your bedroom and office area and balcony!
I know you’ll make each of these space’s beautiful in time and that’s the fun of buying a home of your own. You can live in it for a while and enjoy gradually improving each area. I chuckled when I saw your office bookcase and “The Tao of Pooh’. After your wonderful vlog talking about that book, I ordered it straight away and have loved diving into its delightful wisdom!

Beautiful home! I love the simplicity, so serene. My own home has many more things. I love to decorate and use color, but like you i keep my bedroom very simple, with minimal decor and white bedding to make that space serene. Its amazing how our spaces affect us! ❤ thanks for sharing your lovely home!

Congratulations on your new home. I guess my favorite space would be the living/dining room. I have done something similar in my home office with hairpin leg lower furniture, floating shelves, a wall mounted trailing plant, a canvas art print and a wooden magnetic chalk board.
Vera, I particularly love how the flow of the hallway goes into the living room, that makes it feel really cozy and bigger, also placing the couch away from the wall does make it feel much larger and visually pleasing, putting things higher on the wall also is a great idea to make the place look larger and more interesting, you’ve done a great job with all the pops of color, the coral is my favorite, loved the apartment tour, can’t wait to see what you do with the balcony 🪴
Thanks Joan!! Yes, I love that too, about the hallway opening up into the living room. Actually this place used to have a very different layout, but the previous owners made it much more open. So the hallway used to be separated and there was a door opening up into the living room. So I'm very happy they did all that work opening it up haha, because it's so much nicer now.

Hi Vera, your apartment is very beautiful. At the moment, my favorite space is the living room as it's obvious you put the most love into it and I really love the colors you choose although they are not my favorite colors, they are so lovely and fit with you own coloring so well.

I didn't realize it as I was doing it, but later on someone else mentioned it and I was like: oh, that's what I've done! haha. It's funny to think about which colors we're naturally drawn towards.

Your new home is lovely! You have quite a talent for design. I hope you two are enjoying the new space. I think my favorite thing about it is that the balcony gives you access to the outside at any time you want!
My favorite is the bedroom or bathroom because of the blue, the tub and wanting to make things more restful myself.
Our homes share so much in common Vera, from the soft colour palette of blues, greens and light woods to the round dining room table and chairs.
I used to have a trendy bedframe which was difficult to assemble, very low and not particularly comfortable.
Would not swap my divan bed which is super comfortable, easy to transport/assemble and has 4 large drawers underneath for storing bedlinen, towels, nightwear etc.
Bathroom colour not my preference either but if it is brand new would be a shame ( and very expensive) to replace.
I think by simply adding white towels the space would look much fresher.
A fresh green or blue paint above toilet will look lovely but id probably add a picture rather than shelves. Shelves may be difficult to clean and clutter builds so easily.
Even our choice of bedlinen is very similar- i have one good quality cotton set which goes back on bed after washing and never needs ironing.
YES please to a wardrobe tour!
PS im with you 100% on removing shoes and when i move next year im hopeful for a hallway which will have room for shoe storage and hooks for coats etc !

I am trying to resist the urge to BUY the things you have in your home that I don't have in my home and instead think "What do I already HAVE that could serve the same purpose. (Like the ladder holding the throws) My first instinct is "Oh I need to get one of those..." Which defeats the entire purpose of this video right? Same thing with the ads and sponsorships. I have to resist the urge to purchase because you are encouraging us to live with what we already HAVE😊 Not buy this thing to fix your problems

I love that you don't have electronics in your bedroom! I am currently staying with my parents and they have a large tv mounted on the wall of the room I'm in. Plus I have to work in my room and I have a lot of "stuff" that I use and there's no where to put it that is convenient. When I'm able to get my own place, I will definitely keep the electronics & miscellany out of my sleep space.

What a lovely apartment 😊 I like the layout of it and also the fact it has a balcony. We had a lovely flat when we first got married, that overlooked a sweet garden, but we could only access it by leaving our flat and going all around the back of the building, so to have an out door space is brilliant IMO.

Thanks for the tour. It looks like a great space. Give the bathtub a go! You know what an integral part of Japanese culture the evening bath is. Also a cool (not cold) bath is a great way to bring down your temperature on hot summer evenings before bed. Also, yes - blackout curtains make a huge difference - great choice. I love the light and relaxing look your home brings. Having a natural colour scheme with pops of favourite colours blends so well. Having just a few items on services brings them out nicely to see. I added little 40cmx20cm sink to the wc, built little box for the wc rinse system and on top of that a rectangular sink (hangig over a bit), it has a little hand shower too.
Oh! So the sink is above the toilet basically? On the same 'back' wall?
