Games have come a long way to the point that they are their own films. I often hear people say they should make this beautiful masterpiece into a film. However, I ask myself why? so much would be lost the voice actors did an amazing job capturing in depth the characters that this world has given us. Take this amazing scene between Geralt Of Rivia and Olgierd Von Everec. This amazing battle which is optional by the way got me by surprise. I was trying to do the right thing and even though I did not know the man and didn't really care if the reasons were just to defend this man I did it anyway. The moment I heard their executioners say "What the fuck is it to you? not your concern mate" I decide to stick to my guns without considering the consequences. And after Geralt threaten to slay them like pigs if they don't let him go, Olgierd appears this charming man with a twisted moral compass and godly mustache tells you "Long as I am here you will gut no one" and of course our Geralt replies "Is that a Challenge?" Then you begin to feel the intensity build up slowly while this beautiful melody begins to build up as well. Olgier who is a man to not be taken lightly replies " Why not, I've not fought a witcher before" and in that very moment, the rain begins to fall and the fire that you didn't really care for began to burn brighter. The wind brushed the trees and you could also see the faces of Geralt and Olgier who didn't take their eyes away from each other began to walk in circles. Geralt reaches for his sword and Olgiers sword still holster asks " Would you want sir, for the dribble to subside?" and Geralt replies "makes no difference to me" and in that very moment you begin to think that this is going to be another battle like the ones that you fought before and you hear the words of Olgier "Justly said, Stand and fight" and you quickly realize that this is not like the other battles that this battle is special that's going to take concentration, timing, and skill and then you hear the chorus of this delicious tune hit, and you're suddenly hit by goosebumps crawling from your spine all the way to your head and you hear Olgier constantly taunting you waiting for you to make a mistake to pick you apart and you get so consume that all of the sudden you realise that you're the one holding the sword with a strong grip and can see the reflection of the fire in your blade and could almost feel the mud underneath your boots and the rain dripping down from your hair into your face. I know I might be exaggerating at this point however my point is simple Video Games have given us something that is often lost in movies and that is the experience of living for this character and not just watching them and I am not willing to loose that for a simple 2 hour and 30-minute film.
