What are some cool exercises you do? I wanna discover new ones!
If you haven’t, check out Troy Grady’s channel for his obsessive dissection of picking techniques. Also for people like me who rarely use a pick, check Scott Tennant’s old video Pumping Nylon for a whole bunch of good stuff.
There's a left hand exercise in Pujol's method book which i found amazing, you put the index on the 1st of the 6th string and the middle finger on the 2nd fret 5th string and hammer on/ pull off with your ring finger, you play only the first F and B with the right hand and make sure the hammer on and pull off keeps the sound going, then you descend your middle and ring finger to the next string, and play with all the possible string/finger/fret variation
it's makes the fingers powerful especially if you play precise notes in a low tempo, nylon strings makes it hard which makes your fingers stronger
i hope you found this informative
@@mooseymoose Troy gradys videos made me pickup the guitar again because I realized I intuitively discovered pick slanting but didn't capitalize on practicing it properly
Since Steve Vai's video on hand health I take more time to simply warm up and stretch my hands and get in a relaxed vibe.
Active listening! Basically, you're playing and evolving without playing ;) I'm sure you have this gift/curse, Rotem!
Rotem, you are not only a great musician, you're also an amazing instructor. Great instructors are even more rare than great musicians. Thank you for putting these podcasts out for our benefit. It is very easy and doesn't take time to make long complex instructional videos. Your videos are extremely well structured and clear due to their "perceived" simplicity, which is a much more difficult task (that requires not only work, but mindfulness).
Also, your love and enthusiasm for music shines through and is contagious :)
Amazing, this is your best video to date , I have some work to do 😆….☮️
Great ideas here - thank you, Rotem!
Always great!
Wow I love this ❤️
So good!
That offset Daddarrio with the P-90s is gorgeous!
Thank You so much!
Thanks for the warm ups. I also practice the other tip you have shown, where you play each string slowly and set the pick to the next string in preparation. Quite meditative. I guess I particularly 'connect' with those tips that emphasise connecting with the guitar.
Super mega newbie here. Thank you for posting this. I will add these to my practice routine. You are amazing and I wish i can play one day even just half as good as you. God bless and take care!
I've picked some of these up from Mateus Asato's warmup :)
I really like the chromatic exercise!
Can you please do a review of the MIDI guitar once you spend some time with it?
First...? But in all seriousness, as a bass player, this does help me play guitar a bit better (and bass too).
I think so :)
Very cool intuitive exercises to help connect with the notes, sounds, and capabilities of the guitar. What was the last guitar by the way - similar to a 335?
Good
❤️🙏
Quality content as usual, Rotem! :) But i have only one "but" :) even if I spend 5 mins only for each of the cool excersises you showed, it will be ~50mins for whole warm up already. It's bit to much for guys who have lets say up to 2h/day for practicing guitar. Any recommendations how you would lets say split them?
I won't do all in one day! For sure. Choose 2-3 and work with that for a few weeks then change
Makes sense :) anyhow, love your vids and fact that you can talk passionately even about chromatic things :)
What is the reason for counting 1, 2, 3 from 3?
I only have 3 guitars. How can i play all these exercises?
Please i need your help
I think my guitar has a problem
When plugged to an amp
The 4 lower strings are 10times louder than the high E and B strings
When playing with other instrumentalists... I can hardly hear the high E and B strings but the lower 4 strings sounds out very well
I dont knw what to do
go wit the flo
