I love this, because it pictures really good Judai's and his friends feelings. Judai has become sad, depressed and so hard to understand and his friends would want to help him but don't know how. Also Judai is trying to act like nothing affects him while he cries inside.. This is very sad song, but also truly a masterpiece.

I really like how the lyrics change meaning the entire time. At first, it is about how Judai/Jaden really didn't enjoy his life, but then Johan/Jesse appears as his equal and now Jaden finally has someone to properly connect to. Then it becomes about how Judai loses that support when Johan disappears and he becomes increasingly distant and sad. Then it is about how he falls into depression after the supreme king commits genocide and his other friends try to help him get over it. Then it is about how Judai and Johan manage to reconnect towards the end. Then it becomes about how yubel went into madness because they lost a similar emotional support when they were shot into space and Judai got shock therapy to forget about it all, destorying their bond. And right at the end, it becomes about Judai showing acceptance and stopping the cycle of sadness by welcoming yubel back.
Exactly finally someone gets it. People always said Jaden is a Mary Sue. He was never a Mary Sue the dub changed the story make him feel like that because apparently kids aren't allowed to know the word *die* or anything related to it. The sub on the other hand don't hold back sure the first and second seasons was light but it was there to make the third and fourth even more depressing. They're there to show an innocent child living his life happily and out of nowhere force to lose his innocence as he endured a lot of hardship and was turned into a serious/depressed adult with no time to play around. Watch him during the first season and compared him when the fourth season and see the difference. He is one of the rare protagonists never achieve his dream and that's fine because life don't always work that way. But instead of giving up on life he find something else to do which in his case he choose to travel the world and use his powers for others. He is a very relatable.
@@BlossomPathOnStage15 Well, er...I actually only ever watch Season 3 and I prefer the dub-story(I watch the german dub, because it is mostly just the english one, except better writing and voiceacting). I just prefer to use the japanese names here because the opening is jp-only.(Sadly, I wish the dub used it for at least the second half.)
This is my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh GX song. It reflects the show as a coming of age story. Judai/Jaden thinks it’s all fun and games at first, but realizes growing up is hard and faces challenges along the way.
I know how he feels. When I was a kid, I thought of everything as all fun and games and growing up was no big deal, but as I was growing up, I saw aging as scary as death and wanted to remain a kid or a teenager.
@@MaeManuel1 It's actually very ironic. Childhood is the most fun part of most people's lives, but many kids want to grow up fast. And Adults often wish they could go back to childhood because of the pains of the sudden effort that is required of you. The teen years are the most painful, awkward and dumb years of the lifecycle, but they are somehow the best time of life because you are in a middlespot where you still keep part of your childhood experience, but are already aware enough to enjoy it properly.
I learnt that its all about how you perceive ur life sometimes. Imagine ur a cameraman and you only focus on the bad then ull be miserable, try to focus on the good.
Jaden will always be my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh protagonist, for his character growth(it's a lot!). Despite his typical shonen protagonist personality in which most people dislike, he made me appreciate taking things not too seriously while being at the best I could be.
Jaden/Judai is my favourite anime protagonist for a reason. He went through hell and back...now what makes him so different? He was shown to do evil in season 3 when he got depressed and felt ostracized due to enemies manipulating him. Slowly and slowly, every season his mind was paying the price even though he won all those shadow duels and to the point he had to become mature and not say a happy go lucky kid....GX didnt shy to show a protagonist in bad light and this is the truth in life...no one stays pure. In case, of Yugi he had his friends and Atem who could understand him better. Thats why he was the king of games as he had a big heart for that big mind. Yusei was the most mature of all the Yugi protagonist due to the incident at satellite and is very intelligent. However, Jaden was a simple kid who loved dueling to the point that he subconsciously hid his darkness since a young age since Yubel attacked his friend to the point of the DARK world monsters chaining him down mentally and physically. Also no one could really understand him as he was terrible in communicating. Syrus and Zane understood him but they knew he had to do it himself. Jim and Axel Broadie understood him better than anyone in a short time but they were still new in his life. Alexis loved him but she knew she couldnt reach him cuz he was guilty af after the Dark World duel and blamed himself for risking his friends. Now Jessie had become his closest friend as they are very similar. To me Jaden felt Jessie similar to him and got really attached to him and was taken aback by his actions saving them in the Dark DImension. But in his infatuation to save Jessie, he ignored his old friends leading to them getting affected later on. This incident made Syrus grow up and stop depending on Jaden. Jaden is really to blame here but he had enough with so many enemies pulling the strings. Just look at the character development Jaden has in all 4 seasons. In the beginning all he cares about is dueling and all the bliss he has in life (GOLDEN EGGWICH!).....and in the end he is awakened to the reality of life and realises he must have a safe distance as his abilities attract Evil which may affect his near and dear ones. in Season 4 i was initially sad as to why Jaden would stay like that. Opting to leave the Duel Academia and his friends....which are the golden days of any duelists. But then i realised that he was depressed, fearful and had PTSD. In the end no matter what i love Yu-Gi-Oh! GX as it shows that even the brightest have their darkest time and they have flaws...but what is more important is that you keep on swimming in life and never give up. After the events of BBT movie, Yugi knew who Jaden was growing up and studying in the Duel Academia, if he wanted he could have helped him fight all the Evil and Darkness himself, but he was impressed by his skills and personality in the BBT movie when he saved Yugi and his grandpa along with Yusei. So he never interfered, but he was interested and gave him a Winged Kuriboh Duel Spirit that he witnessed in the BBT movie helping him against Paradox. Now this is the biggest Paradox! But by the end of GX, he knew Jaden was depressed af and no one could reach him...so he dueled him to remind him about what's important in life and why he started dueling in the first place. By the end of BBT we can see Jaden is back to normal and better than before all thanks to Yugi and Yusei. This is why i love GX not just because of the nostalgia, but about how it portrays the struggle of balancing yourself.
GX Season 3 is basically the moment when the only people who understand you either do no want to understand(Chazz, he is too caught up in his own nonsense and was always very tsundere at best about friendships and seeing spirits) or seemingly disappear forever because of what you perceive to purely be your fault(Jesse). Even if it never happened to someone personally, the way it sucks is just written on the tin for anyone to understand.
