  • 📢 Urgent Call to Action: Transforming South Africa's Education System 🇿🇦
Recent data reveals a startling fact: Only 1 in 10 of us have higher education. This is alarming, especially considering how essential education is for employment and national growth. Our young people are being set up for failure, lacking the skills needed for a competitive global economy.
📚 Contrast this with countries like China, where vocational training creates skilled workers in masses. Our education system needs a massive overhaul - more practical skills, less outdated theory.
👊 It's time for action. With elections around the corner, our votes can transform our education system. Let's choose leaders who prioritise empowering our youth with the education and skills they need to succeed.
🔧 Let's build a South Africa where every child has the tools for success, right from the start. Your vote can change our future!

I'm happy that I did science stream at school, I regret nothing about it, itmade so much sense. The problem that needs to be solved is that, SA needs to build industries for the students it created.

At the moment, the Department of education is targeting successful schools almost daily for harrassment about petty issues. The moment parents become involved to improve standards in their children's schools, the dept targets them for harassment.

As south Africans we are doomed.
The only thing we good at is drinking parties dancing that's it. If you don't change your ways you will die poor.

Even educators themselves have been forced to become administrators most of the time, which leads to so many loopholes in curriculum. I'm sure many people who speak from a place of ignorance assume that it is always the educators who are to blame. But if they could take the time to immerse themselves in thorough research and see what really goes on in schools and the entire system itself, they would not villainise them. The system has definitely moved from worse to worst. However, besides promoting vocational skills in learners how would you ensure that educators themselves are well equipped to educate and facilitate those skills? And what about the quintile system? Will you dismantle it or supplement it?
What about the working conditions that plague educators already in the system? What is the game plan since the current system not only uses them as scapegoats but also demoralises them as well. I think everyone on every campaign can give stats based on other countries, but very few share a clear vision on their stance.

Why do all the politician's or critics leaves out India when it comes to education. India has one off the best education system in the world. They don't export teachers to educate their population like other countries.

The primary school text and workbooks were not created by experts. They look big and bright, but the content is terrible. And Gr1 and 2 has such a complex and overburdened syllabus, kids never get enough time to just learn to read and count.

True. Even grade 3. Also, some of the resources have so many grammatical errors.
