I was fortunate to win a copy in a contest, and I really liked it, both at 2 and at 4. The interlocking of the player actions made it super intense. Thanks for the video!

I live in Czech Republic and the bone church Stella referred to is called the Sedlec Ossuary, and if you guys know the Button Shy game Skulls of Sedlec (pronounced Sedlets - c in Czech sounds like ts shoved together), it’s inspired by this ossuary which indeed has pyramids of skulls and even a chandelier made of human bones. It was popular for metalheads and goths to want to get married there but it’s not allowed anymore. Very cool to visit, as is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world, St. Barbora’s. Great review Stella and Tarrant!😍

Thank you for a great review! I'm a fan of CGE and have had this on pre-order for a while. This review made me look forward to its arrival even more.😁
(I like Tarrant's idea of changing turn order and might have to try something like that after a few plays.)

Did you find this works as a 2 player game? Most say it’s better at 3 or 4 so I don’t want to buy it if it’s best at 3-4 players.

This one has a lot of things that I like, but I'm still on the fence about getting it, just because I play mostly at 2p and I'm not convinced it delivers a good experience at 2p.

I keep going back and forth with whether or not buy this game. The visual presentation is really nice (except for that glossy finish on everything, eurgh). The strong interconnectedness of everything is my thing. The economic aspect is my thing.
But I am rather turned off by the way it is hard to anticipate what the market prices will look like on my next turn, and one person being able to control wood as the core resources to building things. Also, the building the church part appears a bit tacked-on to have another action type.

Hmmm … visually the game looks boring, that alone puts me off. Nicer design would have better welcoming. Skipping this one. When it comes to your coverage, that is excellent.

I just got this game and one thing that doesn't show well on screen is the silver coloring on many of the game elements. What may look like plain grey is really shiny and metallic. Also, I think the board is intentionally supposed to look plain at start. Once you get the town built up there are a lot of flashes of color that really make the game stand out.

@@azamarro thank you for mentioning that. Yes the silver is pretty good!
