Another very fine video! Julie and I were just up at the headwaters of the Grande Ronde and stepped across the river. Thanks for allowing us to float along with you two.
I'd say no, a few are considered II+ in the right flows. Blind falls and Sheep creek are probably the most challenging. We did rescue a kid once when he fell out of a boat that pinned on a rock at Sheep Creek and floated about a mile downstream in waders on a cold day.
The day before we launched it was running about 1800, came up to 2400 the morning we launched and came down to 1600 the day we took off (round numbers).
@@OccidentalistOutdoors It was, it was very weird to walk through the burn out forest (and probably a little dangerous). One night we were told an island was safe to camp on, but when we actually got there, the trees look too burnt, so we ended up having to dig out a camp spot way closer to the water to stay out of range of the trees. (We put all the rocks back that we moved for our tent)

@@OccidentalistOutdoors Thanks!
Is this a permit river? Thanks, W
A self issue permit is required, you fill it out at the put in. Permits are not currently limited in number.
What was the flow?

Thanks. I've always run it in April/May. Usually not too many other boaters
When was the trip?
The last week of June 2023
Did you find any snakes? In the 80’s I used to elk hunt at a camp just above Grosman Canyon, not too far above Troy.
We didn't. We stayed pretty close to the river this trip, we've run across a few hiking above the river on previous trips.
Isn't the Powwatka bridge upstream from Troy?
Yes it is.
such a beautiful river
We agree!
We were probably the second party down that river right after it opened after that fire.
That must have been a surreal trip.
