In 1998 my dad took me to the XGames trials in Virginia Beach va. We were walking up to the gates of the event my dad looks over his shoulder and then taps mine and says “hey look behind us” and Tony fucking Hawk is skating across the street right next to us. I felt like I was seeing mythical creature then you hopped off your board and invited us into the event for free and even gave us vip passes. Probably one of the memorable moments of my life. Thanks for the memories Tony.

The cool dynamic of this podcast is that people already know a lot about Tony and it's cool to hear his stories. But Ellis! This dude is full of surprises, he's hilarious, and it seems like he was there for almost every story tony has to tell. Bloody good podcast Mates!

Dude. I was barely aware of Jason Ellis before this show. He does a great job. Every comedian and actor that does talk shows has the same 20 minutes of material on the air. Ellis changes it up. Really enjoy the show and now I’m on the back catalog. Keep it up dudes.
the idea that you took your diploma and skated away without looking back IS fantastical. Ellis, the fact that you're one of the biggest names in, not only skateboarding, but radio as well, and didn't do ANY HS...that's beyond rad. I would have commented sooner but I was on the pump track where Tony et al showed up and killed it. This is hands down my favorite RUclips podcast out there. I look forward to each episode and even enjoy, maybe even especially enjoy, the sponsorship ads. They crack me up. The honesty and sincerity of the Hawk and Wolf is touching, but not in a sappy, nostalgic kind of way. The genuine quality to the discussions is magnetic even when it can vary to butt splitting and shitting yourself to the captivation of rolling down a ramp or the more esoteric topics. You can really feel the love with this show. The respect two consummate contemporaries have for each other…still inspiring all us skaters to go skate…still killin’ it on the ramp…out there proving age is a choice…is something that can feed the soul. In other words, you guys are SICK! More por favor senors.

Love this show and love to hear all the old skate stories because I remember most of them from growing up in SD and hearing the whole stories definitely fills in holes in some of them that I only read about in magazines back in the day. I also think hearing about the parenting stories might help some of my fellow Gen-Xers realize that that they can do their thing while still be a good parent and can also include their kids. I am not a parent but my 12 y/o niece lives with us now and as the only male figure she has I try to recognize areas where I can kinda be helpful without overstepping and hearing some of these stories kinda helps me out too.
Also I doubt Jason remembers me but he and Colin McKay would come to Canes in Mission Beach without IDs because Jason either misplaced his wallet or because both had only their country's IDs (one from Canada and one from Australia) and I was the only one who worked there who knew who they were and would always let them in... for free, lol, anyway great to see you on the youtube regularly without you trying to kill yourself so stay healthy and strong and keep up the great work on the show.. both of you and fuck the indy kickflip Jason... at least until you have a few months of at least 3 days a week of yoga under your belt.

The new opening sequence is AMAZING
Cool to hear Jason talk about the gay thing. I know a lot of people are "tired" of hearing about his sexuality but as someone who skates and is still in the closet it's nice to know I'm not really alone with it. I have no shame over it, I just don't trust young guys (and also not-so-understading old people) don't really understand and I just don't want the headache involved with it, or possibly getting assaulted over it. I still hear words like the Gay F Bomb and surprisingly it comes from older guys, but teenagers say it too and it's less surprising cause you know how teenagers go. Good for Jason to be in that position and be that comfortable to open up about it. I don't get the feeling he's milking it for attention or anything he just seems to be working on years of pent up fear and frustration.
