This vlog is how I discovered your channel. Several months back I was in the mood to do a google search about Carole Lombard and I somehow stumbled across this vlog. So I have a sentimental feeling about this particular one. You have a lot of esoteric knowledge and you happen to like a lot of people, places, + films I like. Plus you have a great eye for detail. It's been a great ride so far, I have learned a lot. Keep them coming!
Jordan, what a fantastic vlog! I enjoyed the pictures of Carole & Clark's home! It's amazing what people did for love back then! They were so glamorous and had to stick close to Hollywood! I still love hearing their stories! Thanks a bunch! And "Fences" was a very good movie! You need your own Television Show! 😎🎬
Another great and informative vlog. I'm currently reading Robert Matzen's "Fireball", about Carole and the plane crash that ended her, and it's a real page-turner.
I like how you start most of your videos with the dog in the bed.. waking up to start the day's adventure. IMHO you should keep it as a trademark. Good stuff.
The house to the west was also owned by Carole Lombard and the houses were accessible through a back gate which Carole supposedly used to sneak Clark in and out of. This house was also an opera school owned by a woman named Marie Rappapold. Later on an actor by the name of Max Showalter bought the house and rented it out to many actors and writers including Dennis Hopper and Martin Scorsese's ex wife Julia Cameron who wrote The Authors Way.
+The Bobby Adventures thank you.. my hope in doing continuations is that it might, in the future, influence new viewers to go seek out episodes I mention, or by number.. I appreciate your feedback and your taking the time to watch!
Belinda Carlisle actually bought the St. Cloud house and lived in with her husband for a long time. I think she bought it around 1997. She never lived in the house you are showing to the best of my knowledge.
From what I read Carole wasn’t really in love with Colombo as he was a bit obsessed with her. She more or less had a motherly affection for him. Every time he would ask her to marry him she would refuse. And based from the love letters he sent her, he sounded a bit clingy and unhealthy in his passion for her. In fact he would watch her every move and have her followed. His death had such an emotional affect on her that she put in her will to be buried near him. She didn’t do this with Gable but Gable later was buried next to her. And it wasn’t conclusive in how this freakish gun accident had actually happened yet she knew it couldn’t have been stopped when she logically replayed the tragic scenario.
I agree. After he died, she said something to the effect of "a woman rarely has a man who loves her that much" but she didn't say much about her feelings.
At 3:45 you mention that Russ Columbo was given and wore Rudolph Valentino's "cursed" pinky ring. In Episode #97, at 10:15, you provide a nice history of Valentino's tiger's eye ring and how it seemed to be cursed. Later, in Episode #963, you tell us Russ Columbo's history and ultimate fate.
There were very few men in Hollywood, and plenty of beautiful women to cater too, Clark Gable and Errol Flynn were the lucky ones that worked overtime.
I am surfing your videos to see this precious Puppy-Doodle, not that your work's not fun - but I am so taken with him. I'm sure he's a big guy now. I'm so taken with him! ❤ I have always adored Carole Lombard, and William Powell is my absolute Fav from the era (Cary Grant and Tyronne Power were gorgeous and extremely 1st class professionals ANF gentlemen, but that twinkle in WP's eye, plus that gorgeous grin - just is the picture of "stinker" that always got my attention, the kind of men I always am attracted to - I just so can't see those 2 not being a success - had to be the BS Hollywood interference. They just were perfect together to me.) Well done, thanks for sharing!

Dang that's the third secret love nest video this week. How many did they have?
Beautiful house, surprised you did not mention that Carol was killed in a plane crash in1942
Truth be known...Carol was warned not to fly and the reason her plane crashed was the result of 'interference' with a UFO. True story..
@@jbsang54 Sure it was, buddy. Sure it was. And I'll bet that you've been abducted by a UFO. Uh, huh.
The house looked so much better with a lawn.
I guess the new owners are too lazy to be bothered with mowing a lawn ..
@@QueenlySweetpea so true.
The front yard was much nicer when CL lived there.
