  • I’ll try to give you a few tips that might be different than what you’re hearing from everybody else.
    When you have videos that are doing well back those up with other products in the same category. For example, when I get a cat scratcher that starts to go viral, I will quickly go upload another cat product behind that one because they tend to support each other.
     it’s the 8020 rule here just like it is everywhere else. 80% of your videos probably won’t do that much in 20% of gonna make you the Lion’s share of your income. And if I look, it’s probably more like 90/10.
    You’ll need to make a lot of videos. Make multiple videos of the same product. And if you have a product that starts to take off, immediately make multiple videos for that product as well and get them uploaded.
     put your shop videos in a playlist. That way if somebody is looking for that particular type of product category, they can binge your videos in that category.
    Most of the peoples that buy from you will be from the for you page  not your followers so don’t cater to your followers when you make those videos.
    Use a variety of hashtags as they might appear in a keyword search. Don’t like you on Instagram. It’s not the same thing.  before you make the video, go to the magnifying glass and do a search on TikTok for keywords that might be related to that product. Look up other peoples product videos that are showing up in that search and look at how they use their hashtags and do something similar.
    Avoid two competitive keywords that are going to have too many people competing to rank for that video, instead use the long tail keyword like you would on Google.
    For example, I was just looking up swimsuits in search and noticed there’s a trending #for tummy control swimsuit. I hadn’t even thought of. When I looked at the recent swimsuits, I have that are doing well. They actually have tummy control, but I hadn’t use that hashtag or mentioned tummy control.
    But that gives me a reason to make those videos again, focusing on that feature, hoping to land in search.
    Seasonality matters. Try to promote products that are on par with the season. Giftgiving is not popular right now, but spring and outdoor living is.
    One of the best things that can make a video go viral is getting comments immediately on the video. So this would be something like getting their attention through controversy, sudden movement on the screen, something odd in the background.
    The quicker you can get people to comment the better that video will do. And if it’s a little bit controversial, they will debate back-and-forth, which continues to push your video up in the algorithm.
    Sometimes it’s best, not the position yourself as the expert on the products but rather ask for advice. For example, if I were to say something like I’m a bigger girl, more mature, do you think the shorts are OK for me to wear?
    Hope these few tips are helpful. I’m certainly not the top moneymaker, but I’m in the top 20% of the earners all of the time and these types of strategies work.
