    Great demonstration. A lot of preload adjust videos out there don't actually show a detailed adjustment. This is perfect. This will help a lot of folks.

    Great video. Thank you so much!
    I'm unfortunately 275 pounds(6'2"), but have already lost a bunch of weight. I have a deadset goal of 225. I found some settings that seem great for me on the road, although a bit stiff. It feels planted in corners and I love these tires on the road. Offroad it's not a comfortable or easy ride with this suspension and stock tires felt unstable on the hard pack with gravel at Prarie City in California. Very little traction on the back tire and the front felt slippery/knife edge. I've ridden everything from a 50cc bike to a 500cc dirt bike on that and it never felt sketchy.

      Glad it helped & congrats on the weight loss! Haha yeah, I never even tried the stock tires. They're better than street bike tires, but juuust barely. The Motoz tractionators I had seemed to work really well on the Tenere, but it'll always feel a little heavy off road. Very impressive for a midweight ADV though!

    Hello for adjusting the shock absorbers and the fork you can all do it again once your springs have been broken in, I have the T 700 Since July 31, 2019 from 3000/4000 km mixed road and off road, I have all settled again. Everything will depend on your way of traveling or riding a motorbike, you will have to find a compromise otherwise you risk spending a lot of time adjusting your shocks. the original T 700 Tenéré is not made for "intensive or extreme" off-roading.
    I consider this bike to be a jack-of-all-trades (a very good all-rounder bike).
    Otherwise an enduro or a 250 WR R is more efficient and less tiring. especially if you are riding a motorbike alone.

    Sweet bike! I just replaced the chain on my KLR and it was kind of a headache to rivet the OEM chain when I figured it would have a clip master link.
    The hiccups, injuries, and all the wrenching is part of the "adventure" lol

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  4 года назад +1

      Yeah I'm not a huge fan of master links but I'd be nervous to rivet a chain on too. Very true though, working on them sort of helps form the bond too.

      @@SwankyCatProductions I'm goimg to set my shock like you did and go from there.I don't know much about it so a base line will help hopfully.I ordered a lowering kit for mine even though people sa not to do that,but I am kinda vertically challenged.I can see ebing off road on unlevel ground and falling over because I can't touch the ground.Been there.Done that.

      Thanks, yep I sure did. I used the Camel ADV high fender kit. I've got an install video on my channel. A bit more in-depth then you'd think but they're are other options too.

    Hey buddy how does shortening the preload make the bike higher?

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  2 года назад

      Without any weight on it the bike will more than likely always be the same height regardless of preload setting. But when a riders weight is applied the preload will determine the ride height and amount of "sag". I've got a video on that too. ruclips.net/video/IhOSYBsLqAU/видео.html

    Okay, I have to ask. Is that rod on the left engine side the shifting rod? It seems really exposed.

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  4 года назад

      It is exposed a bit yes. There are some things like that I've noticed that make it a little obvious that the motor wasn't originally designed for an off road bike. But nothing I'm to worried about.

    how many inches can go down? because I want to buy one but im short 5"2 probably its to high for me.

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  2 года назад +1

      I'm not sure how much you can drop it with the preload, my guess would be less than an inch. I'm 5'10" and it's a bit tall for me but still manageable. I purchased a low seat that hasn't come yet but that's less than an inch of a drop too.

    • @elcorazondeamerica514
      @elcorazondeamerica514 2 года назад

    • @SwankyCatProductions

      The pre load might adjust it a very small amount, less then a half inch I'd guess.

      Nice!!! Thanks man! I think I'd still start at the recommended settings and leave it like that through break in. After that you'll have a good feel for how it handel's and can make adjustments from there to your liking.
