    Thanks to your videos I just bought CA glue. Got the 3 pack deal and used thin building a plexiglas 3 drawer holder that fits perfectly in one of our Ketchum cabinet shelves to hold vitamins, cold medicine, and various other pills. Thin worked great because it wicked nicely along the seams then hit it with the accelerator. Love your idea in the little brackets…..I’ll be using that idea! Tha ks Chris!!

    Good tips Chris, I've used a few of them myself ( probably learned them from you in a previous video! ). Starbond is great stuff. I haven't made very many pens lately and previous attempts to use CA finish have been hit or miss using another brand of CA. May have to give the Starbond a try! Thanks brother. :)

    2:21 .. you know what else makes it easy, not using a 12" extension when you don't need it.. I too have had to learn that lesson!

    • @AGlimpseInside
      @AGlimpseInside  2 года назад

      The brackets were so close to the wall the 12 inch extension actually made it easier so the angle didn’t have to be so steep

    Not sure if anyone has said it here or not, but, you likely used Medium or thick CA Glue and formed an airtight seal around the edges... Bet this would work to pre-treat the edges of MDF to seal them before gluing, or, for Sealing the end grain of wood for any reason, like slowing the drying to stop or slow cracking/checking of the wood.. Although, a thick paint or thinned tar etc would be much cheaper for that particular reason...

    I always turned my nose up to the idea of using AC glue until I just gave it a try. I am pissed I didn’t try it sooner. I have now used a few brands and star bond is far better than most.

    Great tips. Never thought of using CA glue as a sealer.
    On an entirely unrelated note - I went into Chipotle a few days ago, and while I was waiting to order, there was a kid standing on a nearby table waiting for the adult she was with to get their food. She was bouncing up and down excitedly (who isn't excited to eat at Chipotle?) and running the length of the bench, back and forth, and I thought, "Man, that kid looks familiar. Do I know her?" And just as I got to the head of the line it hit me - She looks exactly like Chris's daughter from A Glimpse Inside! Only a couple of years younger (this kid was maybe 3 or 4), and with dark brown hair.
    You don't have any relatives in Maryland, do you Chris? :D

    • @AGlimpseInside
      @AGlimpseInside  2 года назад

    Be wary on CA glue is epoxy molds. I had a nasty reaction a couple years back where the two adhesives had an exothermic reaction and gave off some nasty fumes.

    Regarding using CA glue & tape as double sided tape: isn’t it more cost effective to use double sided tape?

    • @AGlimpseInside
      @AGlimpseInside  2 года назад +1

      It might be but I don’t think so. Using just a couple of drops and not very much blue tape really doesn’t cost that much money

      @@AGlimpseInside or freezer, either way. It won’t freeze until like -100C and the whole point is humidity is what makes it bond (the activator is basically water chilled by aerosolized butane). So keeping it out of humidity, like, say, in a freezer, will preserve it until we’re all long forgotten. (Edit: that’s why all that superglue in your junk drawer is rock solid garbage after 2 weeks)
