It can be very frustrating but where we live now, which we built for our retirement home, we have a few people that think they own everyone's home and lot. Safety rule #1: Never distract an operator of a power tool. If that was me, I wouldn't turn off the machine to listen to her drivel. Too dangerous, so she would have had a long wait!
Nice quality father and son time. The only memories of "helping" my dad that I have is getting yelled at no matter where I pointed the flashlight. I had a taller stump, about as wide as your last one. What I did to remove it was took bricks and built a circle around it, put charcoal on it, and added wood to keep the fire going. It's a longer but effortless process. After 6 hours of burning I stopped adding wood and let it smolder for the next 48 hours. Burned it down to NOTHING! I poked around days later and couldn't even find any stump. It was crazy effective and cheap!
You were really a lot more civil than I would have been with her. I would have made sure to take even longer to finish the job. And that would be after I had told to to eff the hell off. You and your son are good men for what you do.
I almost feel sorry for her. She definitely has some issues. She absolutely has no business coming into the yard of someone else's property. You handled very well. I think she needs more help than you can give her. Having her yard landscaped or having things cleaned up around her house should not be her top priority right now. I would love to have some of your machines for my yard.

My Husband and I are empty nesters now. We like seasonal camping so we bought a small mobile home for winter days. The lady next door hired a guy to cut our tree down. We used to have a farm now our piece of land can’t fit our truck on it. She said that my yard is her back yard. I called management, there was a big argument and everything turned out fine. She was told my only yard is not her backyard. Then she freaking died. OMG!

That's just crazy. You're doing such a job wonderful helping someone, and she comes around acting crazy. She needs to take care of her troubles. And not go out trying to bother someone else.
10 seconds into her triad monolog I would and have & have told troublesome neighbors "I've got a job to complete, call the authorities if you feel the need to". then just go back to work, you can't explain, justify or have a civil conversation with these type's. You're raising a fine son, your time is well spent helping those in need. We too have run into these type's while helping 3 different elderly widowed neighbors. You reinforce my belief that there are still good people.
Act like you can't hear when someone bothers you...the engine noise helps. Leave her alone...let someone else help her. It's for your own safety.

Praying for you Brother, and your friend that keeps tabs on the neighborhood. Everyplace we have lived we've had 1 or 2 people like that. It can be very frustrating but where we live now, which we built for our retirement home, we have a few people that think they own everyone's home and lot. This time around I prayed for them and changed my attitude as well and you know what, it worked. They still want to know everything but nothing like it was.

Nice quality father and son time. The only memories of "helping" my dad that I have is getting yelled at no matter where I pointed the flashlight.
I had a taller stump, about as wide as your last one. What I did to remove it was took bricks and built a circle around it, put charcoal on it, and added wood to keep the fire going. It's a longer but effortless process. After 6 hours of burning I stopped adding wood and let it smolder for the next 48 hours. Burned it down to NOTHING! I poked around days later and couldn't even find any stump. It was crazy effective and cheap!
You were really a lot more civil than I would have been with her. I would have made sure to take even longer to finish the job. And that would be after I had told to to eff the hell off. You and your son are good men for what you do.
Karen also feels the kid is raking the ground too loud.
I almost feel sorry for her. She definitely has some issues.
She absolutely has no business coming into the yard of someone else's property.

Having her yard landscaped or having things cleaned up around her house should not be her top priority right now.

Avoid her like the plague for your own peace of mind, and to keep both you and your son safe. She is obviously mentally unstable and could become dangerous if crossed. You deserve better…. can you work in another neighbourhood so you do not come across her again? Sadly your kindness is wasted on her, and those like her. Kindness deserves respect!

My Husband and I are empty nesters now. We like seasonal camping so we bought a small mobile home for winter days. The lady next door hired a guy to cut our tree down. We used to have a farm now our piece of land can’t fit our truck on it. She said that my yard is her back yard. I called management, there was a big argument and everything turned out fine. She was told my only yard is not her backyard. Then she freaking died. OMG!

The next time you have a run in with this lady you should tell her that if she has enough time to go out into the neighborhood to police the noise pollution she should find herself a hobby or volunteer at the local school or veterans home.
