I was really sad when I was watching this, mostly when he said "now the kids of the future will come to see the nickelodeon studios" I'm really sad. Nickelodeon will NEVER be the same. If the splat or Nick ever forgets about this, and doesn't open, I am literally going to dig that thing up.
April 30, 2017 will mark the 25th anniversary of the 1992 burial of the Nickelodeon Time Capsule. As most 90s kids know, this is one part of history that cannot and should not be ignored.
32 years later I stumbled upon the Lawrence brothers podcast & Joey talks about being alerted that they moved the time capsule to LA when Nickelodeon left Orlando
KingOfKingsVAR You can say that again. I have liked the Re open nickelodeon Studios Facebook page. Built nickelodeon Studios on minecraft. I love this place and I want it re opened!
They moved the time capsule to the Nickelodeon hotel after the studio closed, you can see it up close there I think they will remember to open it, I'll definitely try to be there
It's too bad that place closed down.. and the time capsule has been moved twice because it seems their tourist attractions keeps failing.. Nickelodeon should really use the classic shows to their advantage more. Kinda like Disney does with their classics, otherwise they would have the same fate right about now.
I am looking forward to April 30, 2042 already! That'll be such a huge day for us 90's kids... Also, I can't help but wonder what Vicki Horn is doing right now, or if she even still remembers being a part of this...
Yeah. The new Nickelodeon Studios building. Not to be confused with this one in the video, this new building will house both animated and live-action programing. It will aso be the new home of the Nickelodeon Time Capsule. It is opening Winter 2016
In all honesty, Nick is not the same any more. Since the early 200 everything has changed. We need to bring back the old but ina new way. This will help Nick.
In case you're wondering where the time capsule will be relocated, it will be moved to Nickelodeon's studios in Burbank, CA. BTW, I was but five years old when this occurred! Love live 1980s/90s Nickelodeon! :D
If both The Splat and Nickelodeon live to see the day of April 30th, 2042, I shall be expecting a Three-Hour special of opening the 1992 Time Capsule, which is written in the Ballon Extra Bold font, which I don't think anybody at Nickelodeon by then will recognize that as the old Nickelodeon logo from 1985 - 2009. But, when I'm 41 years old, with a wife and 2 kids, I'm going to be needing to have that Nickelodeon Time Capsule plaque to hang over my trophy shelf. Heck, talking about a Trophy shelf makes me want to have one of the classic KCA blimps (they looked the same as they do now, expect for the font).
Currently I'm saving my money for visiting the Nickelodeon Time Capsule Unburying. I was born in 1985, and the NTC burial happened when i was 6 to 7 years. When I turn 56-57 years old in 2042, I hope to be there in person to record the unburial. After all, I grew up with Nickelodeon and Nicktoons myself.
The contents of this time capsule will remain untuched until we get bankrupt in 2005 and again in 2015 and maybe in 2022 if the newer studios of that age also fuck up.
I remember seeing the spot where the capsule was buried at the time when i was at Nickelodeon Studios, back in March/April of 2004. Finding that it would not be opened for so many more years at the time blew my ten year old mind, and now it has been officially moved two more times since that point. It's going to be quite something when they finally crack that sucker open in 2042, I really hope when they eventually do that it gets televised just as this burial was back in '92.
@KazTheMovieCollector maybe the VCR is ruined due to internal damage in the batteries (lithium leakage) and it will be few probable to restore the casette
Walked by this building yesterday and remembered this video. It popped up on my recommended again today and I don't think I've ever seen it in this high quality
what else teared up? I'm 16 and I still remember these I miss it so much like that's so Raven and keenen and kel oml I miss it so much I was at my grandparents and went in my room at there house and I never knew the channel so I wrote it down on an old envelope so when I come back it's there. oh how I miss it.
+datguyyo Probably a half hour to an hour at most since the opening day special is a showcase of the park as well, I pray they show the whole thing. Doubtful, but optimistic.
How To Not Wait 50 Years For The Opening Of The Time Capsule. Step 1. Wait 9 Years For The Time Machines Release. Step 2. Time Travel To April 30th 2042 Step 3. Open The Capsule. Simple.
I don't even remember this, but I'll be almost 58 when it gets opened :) What surprises me is that I didn't see that spot when I visited the old Nickelodeon Studios with my family on our first ever trip to Orlando almost 4 years after this
You know those twinkies are moldy as fuck from sitting in that time capsule for 24 years 9 months 2 weeks and 3 days as of today on February 9th, 2017. Only 25 years, 2 months, 3 weeks, and 5 days to go!
I remember Mike O Malley like it was only yesterday. Host of numerous games shows on Nick and an actor from Yes Dear. Its amazing how skinny and a wild nut he was back then. Today he still is pretty crazy but he's a little bit chubbier and hardly has any hair. This brings back great memories of my childhood years.
But the time capsule was just a seven minute event. Here, it is presented at four minutes because they had to cut out the part with Doc Brown since he is a property of Universal Studios.
Admittedly though when it does open I hope the kids of 2042 have a better impression of kids in 92 since people pretty much associate 90’s kids with “smug assholes who look down on everything modern and are overly obsessed with their childhood”
I wonder if my aunt was there, she used to work at Nickelodeon Studios. This will supposedly be opened a month before I turn 53. They better do it! I was turning 3 when they buried it and I don't remember. :( But this was about 2 months after my first visit there. And on my last visit to the Studios in 2002, I got slimed. What a fitting last visit. I was there recently and walked over to where it used to be. Very sad. :(
Such a great set of items put into the Time Capsule. Everything it is truly things that go with the year 1992 and in some ways the decade of the 1990's. Almost everything in it is not popular even in a time as soon as the 2000's and really shows the pop culture items and other popular items kids used during that time. Only things still popular are Michael Jackson although cd's are dying out and online music streaming is becoming the new way to listen to music and led pencils are still used a lot in schools. I know lots of people are now using mechanical pencils instead such as myself, but I took the PSAT 10 in 10th grade at my High School during last school year and had to use a mechanical pencil as the rules require, which is one way we are gonna still keep using them for a while or forever if the rules never change.
I was really sad when I was watching this, mostly when he said "now the kids of the future will come to see the nickelodeon studios" I'm really sad. Nickelodeon will NEVER be the same. If the splat or Nick ever forgets about this, and doesn't open, I am literally going to dig that thing up.
If they dont open it ...IM GONNA DIGG IT OUT AND TAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF IT
Star Rock YESSSSS
emilyd333 the splat is on teen nick
I'll join you!
I feel bad for kids that were born after 2008
1990-2005 was absolutely the best era for kids
Absolutely!!
+Hey Swanky There is Adventure Time though. :3
I would say 1985-2005
I would say 1981-1985
+Allan pavon you're right
April 30, 2017 will mark the 25th anniversary of the 1992 burial of the Nickelodeon Time Capsule.
As most 90s kids know, this is one part of history that cannot and should not be ignored.
13 years to go
@@agustingomez1590 23* years to go..
@@DarkGaaraX whoops 😅
RIP nick studios
true there rip Nick studios they got the good stuff then what we got now
The blue men group
+Daniel Hogan it's close
Only 26 more years until the time capsule is opened again.
MikeyInsanity i may still live at that time
Hope I’m still alive and there to see this in person
MikeyInsanity they actually opened it I think
MikeyInsanity Now 25.
I will be 48 years old when the capsule is opened, and i wasn't even born yet when it was buried at Nickelodeon Studios.
Kind of crazy that its been 32 years already since this was buried. We’re more than halfway there until they reopen it.
32 years later I stumbled upon the Lawrence brothers podcast & Joey talks about being alerted that they moved the time capsule to LA when Nickelodeon left Orlando
And 11 years ago, Nickelodeon Studios officially closed down
it needs ro be re opened
KingOfKingsVAR You can say that again. I have liked the Re open nickelodeon Studios Facebook page. Built nickelodeon Studios on minecraft. I love this place and I want it re opened!
+Jake .06 I never got to go. And I been wanting for it to re open for a while now too. Hopefully one day it does and i can then go there
Has someone dug it up yet?
+SKAR Yes.
Man, the Berlin wall in there is pretty touching.
So is Nick Studios going to remember this in 2042?
if not ill break it open
If not ill call the police and tell them that a life supply of Vintage stuff is in there and they will BREAK IT OPEN
+Joseph Womer: We'll be alive in 2042? Good question.
They moved the time capsule to the Nickelodeon hotel after the studio closed, you can see it up close there
I think they will remember to open it, I'll definitely try to be there
AnderHerrera21 the moved it to cali after the hotel closed
That Twinkie will be worth $1 billion dollars when they open it
I hope Mike O'Malley is part of the reopening ceremony if he's still alive by then.
This is truly sad. None of that is here anymore
It's too bad that place closed down.. and the time capsule has been moved twice because it seems their tourist attractions keeps failing..
Nickelodeon should really use the classic shows to their advantage more. Kinda like Disney does with their classics, otherwise they would have the same fate right about now.
It is now being moved to the new Nickelodeon Studios that will open for their 25th anniversary.
Why are they going to open it up after 25 years??
Impacient people...... I don't like early openings. It kills the main purpose
No. They're unveiling the new burial place for it and unveiling their new studio on the 25th anniversary.
they must wait longer
Kids now don’t even know who Joey Lawrence is, imagine in 20 more years.dudes just gonna be a meme or something 😂
I'm sure Joey glad he wasn't in LA during the riots
Kids by 1999-2000 didnt know who Joey Lawrence was. Surprisingly, Mike O'Malley still has some small kind of fame and exposure in 2023.
04.30.2024: 18 more years to go!
I am looking forward to April 30, 2042 already! That'll be such a huge day for us 90's kids...
Also, I can't help but wonder what Vicki Horn is doing right now, or if she even still remembers being a part of this...
Too bad that they had to move the capsule twice now
Where
Angie Recio first to the nickelodeon hotel but, now that is being shut down so its going to the studio in california
Yeah. The new Nickelodeon Studios building. Not to be confused with this one in the video, this new building will house both animated and live-action programing. It will aso be the new home of the Nickelodeon Time Capsule. It is opening Winter 2016
Devin Studios exactly, I wonder if that will get closed down within a decade :P
Yeah. They are moving it to the new Nickelodeon Studio they're currently building in California. And IDK about how they will get it there.
Open the Orlando studio back up lol
In all honesty, Nick is not the same any more. Since the early 200 everything has changed. We need to bring back the old but ina new way. This will help Nick.

"the last thing theyre gonna see on this is us" if they had vcr, which i asked a kid born in 2003 and she didnt even know what that was
andrew sutherland I was born in 2002 I know what that is. But they may not even be around at all in 2042
I mean they can probably convert it
bruh i was born in 2006 and grew up watching monsters inc on vhs all the time

sadly, the Twinkies may still be "good" in 2042.

Industrias Troll so true
Less than 19 years to go…
I forgot about this. l remember watching it. I was 15 wow 😢. I will be 65😮
same. back then we were excited, now it just reminds us how old we are and how old we'll be!
That's crazy. Gotta stay healthy to witness the historic event. I'm 26, I will be 44 on March 2042.
I can't wait 4 the studio to open up again in 2019!!!
For real
Is that Mike O'Malley... with *hair*?!
+Dariusz Sobotka Yep Burt Hummel from Glee. I wonder Chris Colder aka Kurt Hummel watched Get The Picture, original Figure it Out,and GUTS. Lol
I grew up watching him and have never seen him without hair... then again i haven't seen a recent photo of him in well over 20 years.
If they forgot about this, I will steal this
18 years to go until it opens...
And that camera that they put in it I wonder if if it’s still works and if it does, can they still get the footage off of it?
December 30th 2024. 17 years to go
ummm..........you guys sorta removed the Doc Brown Gak moment? Why.......is there a dispute with Universal or something?
Most likely...
I know, bro.
Copyrights with Universal. It's all about licensing.
I remember seeing the spot where the capsule was buried at the time when i was at Nickelodeon Studios, back in March/April of 2004. Finding that it would not be opened for so many more years at the time blew my ten year old mind, and now it has been officially moved two more times since that point.

“On this spot, in 50 years”
About that...
And now Nickelodeon aint even a thing no more...... I'll bet its forgotten all about except for these videos.
I think one of the greatest things about Nickelodeon in the 90s was all the giant props and the fact that it was OK to get messy and SLIMY and goofy.
Wonder who'll be the one to eat the Twinkie after the capsule is opened...
It'll be hard as a brick. My dad's seen 10 year old uneaten Twinkies before.
Wonder who would be the first to play that gameboy
@KazTheMovieCollector maybe the VCR is ruined due to internal damage in the batteries (lithium leakage) and it will be few probable to restore the casette
a 90 year old Mike O'Maley
In 26 years baby! Can't wait I'll im 42 I'm gonna be so excited

Hmmm... the fact they had to cut out the part with Doc Brown makes me wonder just how much of the Opening Day Special they may wind up showing.
+datguyyo Probably a half hour to an hour at most since the opening day special is a showcase of the park as well, I pray they show the whole thing. Doubtful, but optimistic.

i've always wanted to go to Nickelodeon Studios growing up. It was a sad day when the studio shut down, still remember it.
I don't even remember this, but I'll be almost 58 when it gets opened :) What surprises me is that I didn't see that spot when I visited the old Nickelodeon Studios with my family on our first ever trip to Orlando almost 4 years after this
Should have put a VCR in there
ill be 50 in 2042 if i make it to that age
emptyspotlight I'll be a remarkably young 45 years old.
I'll be 47.
I'll be 37
I'll be 42
emptyspotlight 43
God, I will be 39 when this opens, I HAVE to fly out to be there.
I hope I'm still alive to see them open the time capsule!!! This makes me so happy
You know those twinkies are moldy as fuck from sitting in that time capsule for 24 years 9 months 2 weeks and 3 days as of today on February 9th, 2017.
Only 25 years, 2 months, 3 weeks, and 5 days to go!
They should tricked Joey into the capsule. Lol.
this makes me wonder what else is in Nicks archive still. at least they didn't lose any tapes like cartoon network did with the moxy show.
How did they have footage from the handheld camera that they put in the time capsule?
Live coverage. But it will probably be replayed on the opening ceremony on April 30, 2042. At that point, a new time capsule might be built.
they moved it to the Nick Resort in Orlando ... I can't wait til they open it
Nickelodeon sucks so much now, I don't even know if it'll be around in 2042...
LJ808 if the after life is real you'll maybe visit
So this thing will open on my 38th birthday........
OMFG YESS THANKS NICK
it's crazy to think about how much things have changed already since then let alone in another 20+ years. *gulp*
On Wednesday April 30, 2042 for the 50th anniversary of the Nickelodeon Time Capsule since Thursday April 30, 1992
To bad most folk won't live to
See it open😢
and the studio has been closed for 11 years, painted blue, and forgotten in universal studios
sad, the capsule isn't even at the location anymore
Really?? I wonder where they may have moved it too.?? 😀
+melshane23 probably in a warehouse or something...
+melshane23 currently, the time capsule has moved to Nick On Sunset in California when Nick Studios was closed in 2005
+MSP10julia oh ok, that's cool. So do you think it will still be opened in 2042.?? 😄
it's still in Orlando like 10 minutes away at nickelodeon hotel right in front of the enterance.
How did they get the footage of the recording on the camcorder during the footage ??? 🤣🤔
They made that time capsule a little more than a month before I went to Nickelodeon Studios for the first time!
> Only releasing 4 minutes of a three hour event
Why? Just release the full event!
yes. or air it on the splat!
That was the opening day special which was three hours.
+datguyyo no. The opening day was in 1990. This was in 1992
But the time capsule was just a seven minute event. Here, it is presented at four minutes because they had to cut out the part with Doc Brown since he is a property of Universal Studios.
+datguyyo You're right, but still, they should release that event, if possible
18 years to go by 2042
I was born a month and half after this event, and happen to live near Universal, sad the Nickelodeon Studios is no longer there anymore :(
Yeesh, 2042, I'll be 56 by the time they open it.
This video is a time capsule in and of itself.
little did they we can watch it every day at 10
Only 24 more years
I'll be nearly 50 years old when it opens!
I feel old that we're over half way to the opening of this. Lol
A pad of concrete sits sits where this was and where the the plaque once was and the capsule now resides in Burbank, California. 25 years to go
Admittedly though when it does open I hope the kids of 2042 have a better impression of kids in 92 since people pretty much associate 90’s kids with “smug assholes who look down on everything modern and are overly obsessed with their childhood”
There's an episode of SpongeBob based off of the time capsule.
what episode?
Buried In Time
I wonder if my aunt was there, she used to work at Nickelodeon Studios. Very sad. :(
I wasn't even born yet when this happened! lol I was born in Dec. 1992
Such a great set of items put into the Time Capsule. Everything it is truly things that go with the year 1992 and in some ways the decade of the 1990's. Almost everything in it is not popular even in a time as soon as the 2000's and really shows the pop culture items and other popular items kids used during that time. Um just a question, if Nickelodeon studios was closed, and the hotel to, so where is the time capsule now?
Still counting down in 2018!
Did anyone notice they cut out the BTTF part?
Allan Pavon Yeah becuase BTTF Was part of Universal studios and it would be copyrighted
Any chance we can get the ENTIRE footage from that special uploaded please?
This is so sad. Like little did they know that capsule would've been moved twice. All because the studios and the hotel would closed down.
Anyone noticed that this video was published on April 30th 2016 and the time capsule was buried in April 30th 1992 :)
that video camera is going to be such a relic
Only 18 more years until the time capsule opens
2016 kids be like.....what is a game boy or a Barbie.
Alex olvera not me
Alexandra olvera I know what thoes things are
Hey! I know what both of them are! Heck, I personally own a Game Boy Advance SP, which can play basically any line of GB games!
BITCH PLEASE I KNOW WHAT A GAME BOY IS AND I WASNT EVEN BORN IN THE 80'S
Barbies are still around today.
THANK YOU!
i can't wait when they open the time capsaule
it's only been 27 years we have a while to go
You cut out Doc Brown!
Only approximately 23 more years until that time capsule is dug up
I really hope Nickelodeon is still around 2042 to open this
Nick why did you abandoned the studio 30 years after and why did you guys put the time capsule at one of the hotels???
Did you know that VA for Mr. Clipboard from "Foodfight" was at the at the time capsule.
Today, only 25 more years left!!! We made it half way:)
