On its own merits, Arkadia is one of my least favourite Babymetal songs (still a solid 8/10) because, as Alan says, it lacks that unique twist that most of their songs have. But in the context of the "trilogy of light" that closes the album (Side 4 of the double vinyl LP is Starlight > Shine > Arkadia) it's perfect. It points the way out of grief and darkness to a hopeful and joyful future. For the band, maybe that's partly about accepting the tragic loss of Mikio Fujioka and the departure of Yuimetal and the necessity of moving on without them, but it's more than that, of course. It's a message of strength and resilience (which is very metal) and positivity and optimism (which is very Babymetal). I know you're both guitarists but it's a pity you didn't mention anything about Su-metal's voice on this or (especially) Shine, because she's outstanding. Anyway, good stuff. Cheers!
With all my heart I hope Yui still gets some revenue stream for her past contributions. Hopes and Prayers that Yui emerges as a solo artist or becomes part of another super group.
I think a lot of why you see a "lack of charisma" from the Avenger is because Koba doesn't let them mic them up or market them as BABYMETAL. All of the Avengers are highly trained singers and dancers but Koba doesn't allow them to show that which is a bummer because to the fans, they are considered BABYMETAL members just as much as Su and Moa. The monikers Riho-Metal, Momoko-Metal, and Kano-Metal were given by fans and not by Koba which says a lot. There is a lot of potential that is held back unfortunately.
"All of the Avengers are highly trained singers and dancers but Koba doesn't allow them to show that." Er, I think you'll find he allows them to dance. That's their job and they do it brilliantly. I've seen both Riho and Momoko perform live, from just a few yards away, and (despite what Alan says) I detected no lack of charisma. Far from it. The first time I heard this song I was like Alan, that it's not my favourite, but now it's one of my favourite songs from Babymetal, but according to Spotify my favourite song of 2023 - not just Babymetal - is Divine Attack, man awesome songs, I love Babymetal :D
Momoko is now the only Avenger as the other 2 are doing other things. Kano is in @OneFive a 4 girl Jpop group. In these official videos I have noticed that the camera focuses on Su and Moa. Also all PR photos are just Su and Moa. One thing I like that they don't put Momoko is pigtails!
Yeah, I feelya on the Avenger Girls: Like watching Band-Maid with a good session musician standing in for Miku. (perish the thought). I saw them in early 2019 at a fairly small venue for them - no Kami Band, No Yui. I would like to say the Avenger in this vid could be Momoko Okazaki - if so, she is a bundle of enthusiasm & energy - and once I got over mourning Yui's absence, I really enjoyed watching her & along with Su & Moa and the damn good band they blew me away. Separately shared a pic of Momoko.
I will say this for me depends on the Avenger they are all good, but I have a special place in my heart for Riho-Metal (Sayashi Riho) since she came from the idol group Morning Musume (traditional Jpop idol group no metal), but she was an Ace dancer. At one point they had a small group that Danced well that did the harder chero and then other that was done by the group. This lead into the style of of there formation dance. All that to say she was a pro before and now she is still a pro. If your detecting something off it may be solely because she usually dances to pop, but obviously this was a new venture for her. When she graduated from Morning Musume she said she wanted to go someplace to work on her dance and suprise its BabyMetal hehe.
Yet again I'm happy that I became a fan of Babymetal after Yui's departure. I enjoy seeing her past performances and interviews and all, but I'm glad I don't have some attachment to someone who left the band, especially if that attachment makes me crap on the Avengers because they're not Yui.
I didn't realize you did two BABYMETAL reactions today. You guys must be busy as they both seemed rushed. This is from the same show as the other you did today for Shine and also the Moa Headbanger. As I mentioned on your other reaction, the Avenger is Kano and she is only 15 I believe. She is from Sakura Gakuin as well and many say she is like a mini Moa. She is a ham just like Moa was. Full of personality. Of course Yui will always have a special place on our hearts though. I think the comment about the Avengers not having the charisma is just due to the fact that you are used to Yui being there and kinda watching the 3 grow up. Especially if you react to their music in order. All of a sudden there is a stranger there dancing. There is no attachment. Kano like the other 2 Avengers are amazing though. Obviously no one could ever replace Su, Moa, or Yui. ❤ This song grew on me so I hope it's the same for you. It feels more powerful when you know the contexts. There are some beautiful moments in this song. I'm very curious how you will react to their songs that really add unique sounds from other cultures. 🤘🦊🤘
Of all the songs you've reacted to, this is the first without Yui??? I liked Arkadia from the start but at first there was something off about it for me too. I think it was just the rapid fire beats with the slow drawn out melodies that took a little getting used to but I like it a lot now. What's with the speed reacting? Lol
Shine too was without Yui, but there wasn't an avenger in it! I watched back but they actually did a few without them, like PaPaYa, but they did the studio version of BxMxC and the official video of Starlight, so they couldn't see the avengers there! Plus they watched the Metrock concert, The Legend S concert, and the Tokyo Dome concerts, so no avenger there! They are not used to it yet!
Yeah, same here. I thought it was an OK song at first but I really like it now, especially the part towards the end (the part where Su sings "Faster than light stronger than steel...) when it slows down into the marching drumbeat, and matched with those lyrics, so powerful! I'm still not used to no Yui, too! And no Mikio.😭
@@sleepingfordays haha yeah, its like Superman. I sometimes feel a bit bad that I do not 'miss' Yui. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Yui! I wish she was still with Babymetal, I've just moved on. I do want to know what she is up to now. Will we see her again in the future as she said. I only discovered them in late 2017 so didn't really establish any deep connection with the members yet so any sadness I did feel was quickly overshadowed by the chaos and negativity from some fans then.
We've seen other stuff without her like Legend S but idk why this one felt different. A few more listens and I'm sure Alan will love it. This was done live on twitch not quite sure why we just went just went through this one quickly 🤔
@@dicodec I can understand how certain songs can cause that. This one in particular because of the way it feels. I can't describe exactly what I mean. Usually if I see a reaction video under 6 minutes i figure it's one of those; play the video then say "Like and Subscribe" kind of videos. I knew I wouldn't have to worry about you guys phoning it in like that though. :)
I actually felt much the same as Alan on first listen. I'm not really a fan of power metal in general; a lot of it sounds kind of generic IMO, so this song seemed to fall into that initially. But it's definitely grown on me as I've noticed more of what it has musically (and vocally).
I don't know wether Alan is drunk or high. I really enjoy your videos. But I just can't help noticing Alan looking like either high or drunk. At least I don't mess your names anymore.
@@dicodec Yeah, a smidge older than Su when they started. She's in another group from Amuse called @onefive right now. More standard J-Pop style music. Keep up the great reactions...you guys just seem to enjoy yourselves a lot even if you don't always enjoy the songs.
At that time, she was close to 15. As of last year, she has the distinction (along with @onefive member Soyoka Yoshida) of being one of only two girls to have ever graduated from Sakura Gakuin at 16 instead of 15. Throws their group name off a little I guess. :D
@@0okamino Ahhh, my mistake thought the vid/concert footage was older than that...Yeah the onefive thing is gonna be odd when they're in their 20's. Not that it really matters honestly.. :P
@@chuckhall4831 Her first show with BabyMetal was two months before her 15th birthday, at the Yokohama shows that would have been Legend Y (and are, as far as I'm concerned). That's how I keep track of that. :) Yeah, I don't think the name is that big of a deal either. I just like to joke about it. Momoe was still 14 when the first @onefive single was released.
⚡ 💕 / 🌟 ✨ You're definitely tripping. : ) Kano is a charming and charismatic performer. Although she only appeared with BABYMETAL five times, she was chosen as the featured avenger for three of their music videos. ('PA PA YA!!', 'Shanti Shanti Shanti' and 'Elevator Girl') Like Su and Moa before her, she was the Sakura Gakuin President in her senior year. She's also one of the four members of the new Amuse, Inc. group @onefive, which is why we no longer see her in BABYMETAL.
Yeah, it might stem from a lack of familiarity, which isn't helped at all by having less time that the camera is on them. Kano definitely isn't lacking in charisma, charm, and performance skill/talent. Unfortunately, it just isn't showcased as much in BabyMetal videos as it is in Sakura Gakuin.
Is ok mah man, if you don't feel it like the rest one is ok, just remember is a part of hole trilogy. Honestly this is not my Babymetal fav song either but i do like to hear it once in a while. \m/ KanoMetal there is beloved as an avenger, she's currently in her own group @onefive and they're doing fine for her 16 yo

Kano Is The besto Avenger!! That was her first presentation and she was only 14 years old, she was very nervous about all that and because she always admired Moa, she is her idol.
@@nzalols7682 Momoko is far ahead. She's performed with BABYMETAL 44 times, including the last 25 appearances, including today's 10th and final Budokan 2021 show. You know when some bands play live and they have a backing guitarist off to the side and they make it obvious for the audience to not pay much attention to that person. That's the vibe I get from the Avengers. They are there but you're not surposed to really acknowledge them and they don't get much screen time.

Shine and Arkadia are definitely in my Top 10 Favorites from Babymetal...The drums in this song are nuts!
They are dope songs for sure!!
Same here
The first time I heard this song I was like Alan, that it's not my favourite, but now it's one of my favourite songs from Babymetal, but according to Spotify my favourite song of 2023 - not just Babymetal - is Divine Attack, man awesome songs, I love Babymetal :D
My favorite Song!!!!
Dope!
Nice reaction as always, don't forget to react Yava! for next Babymetal reaction
Thanks! Of course not. We will hopefully do it soon.
Great reaction, It looks like you haven't added this reaction video to your BABYMETAL playlist though
Thanks! Sorry about that i shall update it
Momoko is now the only Avenger as the other 2 are doing other things. Kano is in @OneFive a 4 girl Jpop group. In these official videos I have noticed that the camera focuses on Su and Moa. Also all PR photos are just Su and Moa.
One thing I like that they don't put Momoko is pigtails!
BABY METAL?YEEESS is amazing BAND METAL❤🌹🌹🌹,one of my favorite 😍🤘✌
They are so dope! 🤘🦊
The Avenger is Kano.
konbanwa🤘🦊🤘ありがとう!
(*^-゜)vThanks!❤️
Thank you so much for watching 🤘🦊
Ударник отлично отработал. Спасибо за реакцию, друзья!!!
Yet again I'm happy that I became a fan of Babymetal after Yui's departure. I enjoy seeing her past performances and interviews and all, but I'm glad I don't have some attachment to someone who left the band, especially if that attachment makes me crap on the Avengers because they're not Yui.
Definitely made it easier.
I LOVE THIS FUCKIN SONG! It gives me so much JOY!🦊🤘
Heck yes!
Love this song so much 🤘🏿🦊🤘🏿
It is a dope song for sure
This song grew on me so I hope it's the same for you. It feels more powerful when you know the contexts. There are some beautiful moments in this song. I'm very curious how you will react to their songs that really add unique sounds from other cultures. 🤘🦊🤘
As her motto goes: Kanonon, Kanonon, genkina ko! :D
3:41 You say what mate?! XD
🤘🦊🤘
🤘🤘🦊🤘🤘
Momo doing a very good work. The totally deserved the place.
Babymetal - ↑↓←→Bbab please
perfect singl!! probably the best!
She is amazing
Its a bit different but still a decent song. The pro shot video has the nicer stages if you can still find it on youtube.
True true
A very powerful song for me. I agree with Alan about the girls' charisma. Good reaction.
Dope man! We appreciate that 🤘🦊
For me powermetal is the best subgenre for Su vocals. It mashes together very well
We like it as well. 🤘🦊
Thankyou for your reaction👊🏽⚡️At1:40 we see Su smile…. And all is right with the world.l.l.
Thanks for watching! She really does have a great and comforting smile 🤘🦊
Is it just me or does this video sound faster than the original?
ARUKADIAAAAA!
Whoop whoop! 🤘🦊
That's dope. It takes a while sometimes but stuff eventually grows on you and your taste changes. Weird but cool stuff
🦊 🦊 🦊
.🤘😊🤘.
🤘😀
I don't know wether Alan is drunk or high. I really enjoy your videos. But I just can't help noticing Alan looking like either high or drunk. At least I don't mess your names anymore.
We are completely sober we swear! 😂
The Avenger there was Kano Fujihira (13-14 yrs old at the time)
Oh wow! She is pretty young 😮
Yeah, I don't think the name is that big of a deal either. I just like to joke about it. Momoe was still 14 when the first @onefive single was released.
⚡ 💕 / 🌟 ✨
You're definitely tripping. : )
Kano is a charming and charismatic performer.
Although she only appeared with BABYMETAL five times, she was chosen as the featured avenger for three of their music videos.
('PA PA YA!!', 'Shanti Shanti Shanti' and 'Elevator Girl')
Like Su and Moa before her, she was the Sakura Gakuin President in her senior year.
She's also one of the four members of the new Amuse, Inc. group @onefive, which is why we no longer see her in BABYMETAL.
Alan was definitely tripping. She'll grow on him.
Yay more babymetal
Heck yes! 🤘🦊
Is ok mah man, if you don't feel it like the rest one is ok, just remember is a part of hole trilogy. Honestly this is not my Babymetal fav song either but i do like to hear it once in a while. \m/
KanoMetal there is beloved as an avenger, she's currently in her own group @onefive and they're doing fine for her 16 yo
❤❤❤
We all miss Yui ❤❤❤
この曲は、YUIMETALに捧げられた歌です!リアクションありがとう(/_;)🍅
I feel you, it's not my favorite either. It feels too much like it tries to be the "Road of resistance" of this album.
guys i love you but i cant believe you still dont make the reaction to the video Babymetal Rondo of Nightmare Live , please please please 🥺🥺❤️🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
believe me, it will be a unique experience 💓💓💓💞💞💞
Kano Is The besto Avenger!! That was her first presentation and she was only 14 years old, she was very nervous about all that and because she always admired Moa, she is her idol.
Aaww that's awesome! I only hope she will be a legit BM member in the future 🤘🦊
@@dicodec I hope so, but for now Momoko is the closest to winning the race.
@@nzalols7682 Momoko is far ahead. She's performed with BABYMETAL 44 times, including the last 25 appearances, including today's 10th and final Budokan 2021 show.
Riho performed with BABYMETAL 27 times. Her last appearance was well over a year ago (February 13th, 2020).
Kano only had 5 appearances, although she was featured in quite a few music videos.
Her last appearance was January 26th, 2020.
3:41 metal music stops
You know when some bands play live and they have a backing guitarist off to the side and they make it obvious for the audience to not pay much attention to that person. That's the vibe I get from the Avengers. They are there but you're not surposed to really acknowledge them and they don't get much screen time.
True. Let's give them some more love ❤🤘🦊
Classic power metal. Arkadia is the last instalment of the Babymetal Trilogy of Lights after Starlight and Shine. Hideki Aoyama is a Beast on drums and Anthony Barone formerly of the Deathcore band Shadow of Intent is a great addition and plays for the Western Kami Band. Road of Resistance younger brother. Do a reaction to Yava from Metal Resistance album, Ska fuses with metal and Jpop. Great reaction always. Kitsune Up🦊🦊🦊🤟🤘
Dope! We'll check it out. 🤘🦊
I really don't like the new Babymetal but i still can appreciate this arkadia and BxMxC because that two song has great instrumental.
As a big *BIG* fan of Yui 2:27 yes i definitely agree with Alan said about the lack of charisma because there is no more Yui inthe group.
Alan. 👀Eric. The correct response haha. Think of this as the ending of a play or musical.
That's a good way of looking at it
Very beautiful song!
Yup, indeed it is 🤘🦊
antony barone is a human metronomo D:
anthony barone mode drag race 🤘🏻
