    MC I'm sure you do know this knife has an adjustable tension for the springs "Clutch" you only have to take scales off and slide the spring into your desired tension very very easy. I bought both immediately I love them so perfect for my tasks for work. Knife of the year 💯🔥🥇

    I really like how Kizer did this Clutch lock/Crossbar lock which also has 5 adjustable tension settings, and how easy it is to access to change the tension or even swap the springs. Kizer has been doing so great the last 2 years. The $120 Price might put some people off but I think it's completely reasonable with the aluminum scales. They can always make some Lightweight micarta or even G10 versions later to drop the price down some.

    Kizer put some thought into this one. The coating on my blacked-out Drop Bear didn't pass the nitpick test, but the design and action is superb. Even the name is appropriate for a smaller, chunky design. The movement is excellent. It is smooth right out of the box and doesn't require a break-in period. The blade is unlocked easily with just the thumb and does not need the index finger at the other side to assist. Super fidgety as you are able to close and open on repeat, quickly. Additional springs are included for those concerned about something breaking. It is a little heavy in the pocket, and this opens the possibility of Kizer making lightweight versions in the future.

    Cool knife, I like Kizer and have a few of them but this isn't a $119 Knife. For $27 you can get a EF BearFly. Granted its D2 not 154cm but it's also almost $100 cheaper.

    But it's a Platonic Ideal of "knife", and therefore is a copy! 🤣🤣

    3 reasons the clutch lock is better:
    1. The buttons stick out allowing for more grip
    2. Adjustable tension
    3. It’s REALLY easy to just use one side of the lock. I know on benchmades’ it’s very difficult especially with their locks being sort of recessed, and you have to really pull on it. The drop bear is incredibly easy with one finger.

    Great looking knife. It would be worth the purchase for me alone with the fact that it has 5 different slot holes for the omega springs to fit in. You can make it as strong as you want or as weak as you want, and I really like that aspect; wish Benchmade would consider that design feature on future models. Anyways, great unboxing MC!

      i'm pretty sure benchmade can't pull that off.
      i mean they even can't get basic stuff right like blade centering, screw length and grinds.

    I just ordered this yesterday on Amazon(only place this is available atm that I've been able to find) and can't wait for it. I wanted the black blade bc I also don't care for satin finishes, but I dont like how any blade finished blade looks after repetitive use and I intend to use this as my primary work knife( mechanic fyi) so maybe I'll stone wash it 🤷‍♂️🤔🤔

    I don't think they recessed the liners because of the adjustable crossbar lock and having super easy access to it, which I assume you will cover in the full review. I can't think of any other Crossbar lock knives that have done the same and are probably one of the main selling points of the Drop Bear.

  • @TheWoolyninja4

    BM might be the original but they certainly don't make the best "axis" lock. I have handled several and my BM is the worst of them so far and that is coming from the s90v full size bugout.

    • @Youtube-Censorship-Police
      @Youtube-Censorship-Police 2 года назад

      agreed..hogue, kizer and even cheap stuff like ganzo, they all do a better job with their axis lock. fit'n'finish on high-end bm's sadly isn't better, i have seen $800 gold class benchmades with warped blades and crappy grinds, it's just sad.

    • @nebulamask81
      @nebulamask81 2 года назад

      @@RUclips-Censorship-Police Agreed with Hogue, I haven't tried Kizer, but the Ganzo axis locks I've tried aren't as good as BMs. I've had to jam open multiple ganzos to adjust or "break in" the spring several times since they were so uncomfortable to use. Needing to do some adjustment is fine with a 20 dollar or whatever knife, but it's not better than the BM axis locks I've handled. The old sanrenmu 7063's axis (idk if they still make them or not) was better than the Ganzo's but the opposite, they were light tension wise. Both are good gateways into knives though.

    • @Sheepleton
      @Sheepleton 2 года назад +1

      Only issue with them is weak springs that break on Benchmades. Hogue fixed that issue by buying their springs from a gun manufacturer. Time will tell how well other manufacturer's springs hold up.

    • @nebulamask81
      @nebulamask81 2 года назад

      @@Sheepleton If you want a slightly thicker gauge wire or just don't want to send it in and would rather fix it yourself if one happens to break (I've only had one snap and it was an old 154cm mini that I fidgeted the heck out of), you can pick up bm compatible springs super cheap on ali. It's like 5 bucks for a couple of pairs or so.
