@@vincenttanstoryIt would be beneficial if you compared the USD and SGD, as you provided a comprehensive breakdown in the video. However, it was challenging to follow along as I am from the US. "600k SGD roughly 100k US" for example
I was expecting to see hidden costs such as installation of ev charger at home / inability to find charging spots at carparks, not opportunity costs of buying a car. When you purchase a car, you already know that it is a depreciating asset and you should not feel FOMO on market returns.
Appreciate your thoughts! I totally get where you’re coming from. Most people expect hidden costs to be things like charging, maintenance, or depreciation. But what I wanted to highlight was a different angle: not just the cost of owning the car, but what I gave up financially to own it. I see opportunity cost as something that often gets overlooked when making big purchases. While we know cars are depreciating assets, many don’t fully consider how much that money could grow elsewhere, especially over decades. That said, your point on charger installation and charging slot availability is an interesting one! Might be worth diving into for another video. Would love to hear your take. Have you faced any charging issues with EVs?
Thank you for sharing. This is in SGD which is my home country currency. I have noted on this and I think it’s a good idea to add the USD currency as a good gauge for the international audience.
Totally empathise with you ~ I am from Australia and put in an order for a refreshed RHD Model X and RHD Model S and also dual motor cybertruck and had the cash ready for it and I relaxed my mindset and didn’t look for opportunities, then almost 2 years later suddenly they (Tesla AU) cancelled M X and M S to Australia and looks like cybertruck will never come. Over those two years I was thinking this money was allocated to the bEV’s but I could have invested that in something and doubled it or even tripled it or even X10+ the amount. Big time Opportunity Cost lesson for me that was forsure. I think it potentially costed AU$1,200,000 to AU$2,000,000+
@@vincenttanstory AU won’t get Model X and Model S (as they only come in Left Hand Drive, and Australia is Right Hand Drive) only Model 3 and Model Y Australia gets
Let me know what do you think about buying a car in Singapore. Would love to hear your thoughts.
You need to say what currency you’re using
Hi @stanleyperry the currency is in SGD. thank you for highlighting

hey buddy, love the content, but as someone new to the channel, its probably better to include currency in the title so no one feels clickbaited.

The model X and S for sure will be cool. But the opportunity cost for sure is hefty 😅
