My guy. The rotor has one screw (if it hasn’t already been replaced) and then you literally just pull the rotor off. You knew to this whole car fixing thing ?
Do you remove the brake fluid cap at any point? If so, when do you remove it and when do you put it back on. Should it be removed for the slow brake pedal priming technique you demonstrated?
When pushing in the piston on the calipers. Bear in mind brake fluid is hydroscopic meaning it loves to absorb moisture. Don't leave the cap off for extended periods of time.
My caliper piston will not go back in when I used the C clamp. Do I need to open the brake fliud reservoir in order for the piston to be pushed back in?
Why torx bolt ? Why? If the 5 lugs at 90 ft pds aren't going to hold the rotor on then I don't think the little torx bolt is going to do much ? Is this just a 'robotic' assembly thing?
Good video. It was a big help. But you didn't show how to remove the rotors. After removing the screw. I spent hours getting rusted on stuck rotors off the hubs. I have never had such a hard time getting rotors off. Usually a couple of shots with a big hammer does it. I had to use an air chisel to break them loose.
These weren't hard to remove due to being a California car. I can't show something that isn't there. I do want to make a video on how to remove a stuck rotor or drum though. Thanks for watching!
How hard can that bolt on the rotor be to remove? I know that on my Honda CR-V and my wife's Hyundai Elantra, I had to heat them up and hit them with an impact screwdriver for a while. I never put them back with the new rotors because they were not required and they were that hard to remove.
@Drew Bork My rotors were seized on when I tried to do a brake job. Fortunately, I have a special conditions warranty with GM so I made them eat the job. I normally would have done it myself. I did my Pontiac G6 brakes a few months after the Sonic and those slid right off. I had done the fronts earlier in 2013 or so, but the rears were original. Everything came off with no problems.
Thanks bros made $200 on the side today doing front breaks on a sonic. Good Channel .
Nice work! Thanks for watching!
Helpful, and dare I say entertaining. Excellent presentation
Much appreciated!
So pads and rotor video with no rotor removal? Also, second set of bolts are not 10mm but 18mm to remove brake pad bracket.

Are you "knew" to this whole English thing?
What size is the Torx bolt? What torque to use for caliper bracket bolts? No brake lube/paste on the pad tangs to slide clips?
2003 Rubicon hydraulic clutch, how do you adjust it ?
Good video. Should of showed rotor removal. Sometimes they corrode to the hub. Take a hammer and give a couple good hits all the way around.
'should have'
the one step I was waiting for! haha
Bro at least tell me what size the stupid torx bit is

Great video, I have , 2012 to do. Thank you for, sharing!!!
You can do it!
What size tork wrench u use for to take the rotor off
Hi I didn't see u remove the brake fluid cap off is it necessary ?
Na that's only when brakes lones are open and exposed to air
Thanks for sharing
What about the anti lock braking system?

You got it exactly! That's why it is there. Thanks for watching!
Torque settings?
those seconds bolts that are you removing are not 10mm right? you mention it in your video but a thing is more or less 15-16mm
I don't remember. Sorry. Thanks for watching!

I live in Massachusetts, This was on my car. 90000 miles on the original front brakes 2012 Sonic LT

Eric DIY The torx screws on mine stripped and I had to drill it out.
Use brake clean spray cleaner on rotors before pad installation
Also what about the torx screw on the rotor? Size t27? t30?
It's a T-30.

Where'd you get the brakes
SummitRacing.com or RockAuto.com
nice
Funny guy. Didn’t show us how to take the rotor off. Must have been stuck like mine.
The rotor comes off after you remove the bracket that holds the caliper on. Thanks for watching Caleb!
You showed noting bout rotors need change title
Check out 5:50 bud. Thanks for watching!
"2 CAR PROS"
"Remove these 2 10mm bolts"
*clearly bigger than 10mm*
SO CALLED 2CARPROS
I do misspeak, I am human. If it's not 10 then use a bigger socket. Jeeeez.
FRONT!! I NEED REAR DRUMS!!?
Thumbs down no rotor removal
Yeah we did. Thanks for watching!
