Preparing for a week long camping trip to an outdoor festival next month...and I'm sorely tempted to do this as the Saturday night special! :)
Did you do it?
Sirius Rising. :) In the end I made jambalaya rather than the full clamake; I hope that doesn't disappoint. The jambalaya was terrific, at least.
Delicious!!!
Thank you!
Came over from the Ballistic BBQ channel after watching your video together on Gregs channel making some amazing seafood! Great video look forward to future videos from your channel, will have to go back and see some of your old stuff. Subbed!

That looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good
+THE EVILPORKCHOP It was amazing!
Great job on the video, everything looked delicious! I wanted to add just some background for you if have another or for your viewers. The worry about rocks exploding is a valid one and used to plague professional bakemasters. Rather than use rocks, the pros use iron or steel ingots to store the heat for cooking. If using rocks, just make sure the rocks are dry and not from the ocean or streams because the center of the rock will be cold and the thermal expansion is the cause of popping.
+Walt Mattison They sounded like firecrackers :-) glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the tips!
great Video my friend, super.... Clam Bake wowww so lecker.........
Tom
ChaosKitchen51 Thanks Tom!
I'm going to visit family in San Diego next Xmas. They have a Weber, so I plan on making a clambake for them. Of course, because this is the West Coast, we'll be using Dungeness crabs instead of Atlantic lobsters.
no prawns ? you got have a king prawns ! great video
TheJimbojetset1 We almost did. As it was, it was quite a meal :-) (Sorry for the late reply!)
First off Gary & Greg, I'm a New Englander. I'd be proud to eat that classically done meal. but typically we just do a boil up here like a cajun boil but with New England seasonings. very well done. secondly don't worry about the lobsters they're just a giant cockroach, not much going on in their heads.
michael landry LOL Michael. I appreciate that! Neither one of us had ever cooked this before but we managed to get er done! (Sorry for the late reply!)
Better late than never
Any thoughts on a good substitute for seaweed? I'm kinda far from the ocean, but would love to do this soon.
+Evan LaBrant We just bought dried seaweed at an Asian market. It reconstitutes perfectly. You can also find it online. As far as a substitute - you could try wet burlap but I can't imagine it would taste the same.
Awesome, thanks! I'll check the Asian market down the street.
wish I could have joind ya !
BigMeat Sunday Next time John! It will be the parties of parties :-) (Sorry for the late reply!)
woo is amazing woo
+Julia Lupercio Thank you!
How do you go about getting seaweed for this? are there regulations about taking seaweed straight from the ocean and using it on food?
You can find it at many Asian grocery stores and/or Amazon. Dried Seaweed - amzn.to/1nWvK8o or amzn.to/1towDaH
Thanks!
That is wonderful that you humanely killed them before cooking. And, that looks delicious!
Thanks guys. I know it must sound p#ssy, but appreciate the comments about how you dispatched the lobsters.
Great... it was completely unknown to me... native a beach thing, like I have learned... relaunched on a Weber... big deal.
Cremantus Thank you!
Googans
OMG he's INDOORS! Call the Cops!
vanscoyoc Please note - that no food was actually cooked indoors at the time of this filming ... :-)
What's the difference if you quickly kill the lobsters? The clams are still alive
Ironically or hypocritically, people don’t complain about killing clams this way and it is a personal preference to kill the lobsters quickly.
Seafood: expensive Charcoal: $100 worth This is to expensive of a meal for the average family.
