Climbed the ptarmigan ridge path, last week and wished i went back that route as the main path was a horrible trudge. Views at the top are stunning.

Thanks we are going up in a couple of weeks and having seen the look of the route back on the 'Tourist Trail' I think that I will take your advice and go up and back on the ptarmigan.

Me and my flatmate bagged this as our first Munro at the weekend there. Thought we were going up the tourist route but it was up Ptarmigan ridge 😅. It caught us off-guard cause he have zero hillwalking experience.
Glad we went up that side though, felt more of an achievement.
