try the 14900k with fast ddr5 and see how it performs
doesn't matter. 400e 7800x3d with 120e 6000mhz corsair against a 600e 14900kf and 300e ram for just 7200mhz it's not worth. 7800x3d can be cooled by a cheap 280 acrtic aio for 70e for 14900k u will net another 300euro for it to cool and mods and great airflowcase that gonna be again more expensive. the 7800x3d won the gaming and easy to build non oc needed for it it's best out of the box. for 14900k u will net a fking knowledge base about oc a intel cpu and a expensive mothjerboard that have a nucler vram cooling so it doesn't thermal throttle the cpu and shut it down and u might burn your cpu while making a misatke overclocking it and u will also need a 100w more on the power supply.

It depends on so many variables. E-cores on/off, windows 10/11, memoey speed, etc. Ryzen can have ridiculous hundreds of fps in games utilizing v-cache, but then dipping in unoptimized games to a level some people call unplayable, like Rust. Intel is the more balanced safe way to go, but it consumes slightly more power, has no upgrade path and usually is more expensive. Difficult choice, there is no right or wrong answer here. Depends on the game and on the person. EDIT: typo

I guess we have entered the days of 8 + core gaming: both the 14600k and then7800 x3d are hyper threading: usages above 50%.
Only the 14900k stays around 30%.

The Valorant test isn't a completely fair comparison because you're not replicating the same gameplay across all 3 CPUs. I know this isn't really possible to do in multiplayer, but you could have set up a test process that you would replicate or used a replay.

bro most people who play cs comp play 1080p or lower, I play low 4:3 and aim to get 700-fps, that way you can fully utilize 540hz 1080p monitor
Incredible in games, the Ryzen 7800x3d is super powerful! and what's more, it doesn't consume much. As a general rule, the Ryzen 7800x3d consumes half of the i9 14900K. Taken at random we obtain: only 54.4 watts!!! for the ryzen 7800x3d against 108 watts for the i9 14900K. On the other hand, I saw in productive tests: this Ryzen 7800x3d is much inferior to the i9 14900K but if you want video games + a productivity index surpassing the i9 14900k then opt for the Ryzen 9 7950x3D. It is almost equivalent in tests productive at 4% close to the I9 149900K while being more efficient with 12C/24T in video games. But the price ^^ is high The ryzen 7950x3d is approximately the same price at 10 euros close to the I9 14900K. OR ABOUT 590 euros ^^. If I change my I9 9900KS which is coupled with an Nvidia RTX 4080 super FE. I will opt at first for this Ryzen 7800x3D then towards a Ryzen 9000?

Theres a lot of variables, do they have E-cores in use or disabled? (Generally e-cores make stuff slower unless they update their scheduler) Do they have Resizable bar enabled on both? Are they using optimal ram with fastest timings?

tbh theres not much difference between the 7800x3d and i5 14600k its literally 5% difference at most and the price is like 40-50$ different id say get the intel i5 its more balanced and flexible (no hate to amd, amd cpus are very great for gaming)

i bought a 7800x3d and a 4090 build and plan to play at 1080p just because im a tool.
they do the tests at 1080p so that the cpu can actually maximize performance and yield a clearer result. at 4k your gpu is doing the most work and you would see a minimal difference in fps across all cpus
