curious, I see what looks like a ground wire attached right below the catch up on the underside of the machine (maybe in attempt to mitigate static in the catch cup?). I have been having terrible static issues with the machine, I feel like one could run a ground wire up to the motor and attach it with some conductive tape. Thoughts? Have you been having static issues? @@UnderstandingCoffee
This JUST happened to me. Grinder was making a funny sound from the motor - after I turned it off it wouldn't turn back on again. I checked the burrs and gave them a quick cleaning while I was in there but still no luck. I just contacted Timemore. ;( Sounds like I'll be out of a grinder for a few weeks now. Luckily the new board swap looks pretty straight fwd. Thanks for making the video!
Do you have any idea what happened? Could you share a photo of the defective board? Did your grinder make a high-pitched whining noise when idling prior to failure?
The grinder just stopped working one day. It was working well the day before. The defective board doesn’t look different in any way. I can’t see any burnt components. I have shared a picture of the defective board on Facebook facebook.com/groups/880833289637975/permalink/1009521980102438/
This is reassuring, both Timemore's support and the ease of self replacement. Thank you so much for the video. 😊
Glad you found it helpful!
Good to hear that Timemore sorted the issue out promptly!
So well done - thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it!

No, I haven’t had any issue with static. TBH I am not sure if running a wire to the motor would have any effect.

Sorry about the grinder. If you don’t get a response soon, I’d recommend emailing peter@timemore.com. He was very helpful.
@@UnderstandingCoffee Will do - Thank you!
Nice of you to make this video, sorry you had issues with your 078s board!
I’m glad this happened in the warranty period!
Looks easy enough. Component failure on PCB can happen to anything, but hopefully this is not indicative of any quality issues.
Hopefully this one lasts. But at least it’s easy to replace.

be sure to always let the device sit unplugged for some time, those condensers can be nasty
Fair warning. It was sat unused for 2 weeks while I was waiting for the replacement PCB
Who do you contract to get your Timemore Sculptor 078S replacement circuit board?
