Looking at their website one of the trucks they got in the fleet is Martyn old 68 plate DAF that he drove at Ferryman.

Great video as always, Martyn, glad you are enjoying your new job, it could be the other lot did you a favour in the long run, you are now with a decent small family company, good work you enjoy and a decent truck, and I would imagine that come winter, it will be a lot better for your fibro, by not being out in all weathers strapping and unstrapping loads and sorting your curtains and definitely not having to load / unload your self at the RDCs, you can just sit in your warm cab and wait for the box to be dropped onto the trailer.

Lad at my firm kept his truck immaculate.Boss would get 3k more when he traded it in.Boss never even gave a £100 drink to the man.That was 1992.since then every truck I've driven goes thru tru kwash
Good luck with the new job. Small family companies are not always the best if they don't really know what they are doing and don't look after their drivers. Yours sound just right at present.
I agree there , you are always an outsider and treated like a dogs body , I worked with the son, being young he was into extra company activities and I was expected to act as a chauffeur and ended up working 60 hours a week but only paid for 40, I couldn't plan anything as I didn't actually know what time I was finishing, needless to say I left a month later - never again work for a family company !!

It is great you found a good employer, containers are so much easier than curtinsiders! although sometimes they are not loaded as they should be, can be top heavy butt guess you know all this. Never been to Southampton docks but used to have to guide the crane operator.
Question, what is a company from South Wales doing working out of Southampton?

I just wonder why so called transport managers are so willing to tell drivers to fox trot Oscar over so many silly and petty company rules, etc. When I hung my driver boots up you couldn’t get drivers for love nor money. I understand it is still the same when it comes to find drivers, especially good ones. Enjoy your new job.

What happened with ferryman job
He left as TDW said there he European work as he wanted to go back driving over in Mainland Europe but it never happened. If Ferryman had done European work I don’t think he would have left. Think he was a bit fed up of doing the same old runs especially doing Etex more regular than what he was meant to do.
Gotta say I totally agree with u martyn working for a small company u deffo feel like a family rather then a number 👍 keep up the good work buddy 👍😁

Glad you are happy with the new job. Good thing about a small family company is they will look after you. I worked with such a company when I was driving .I loved it. Least you're not involved with loading and unloading which makes your job easier. Please give my regards to Claire. TOODLES 😂

On your way to Nantwich, as you come off the M6 J16, you go straight across the roundabouts on the dual carriageway, then when it hits the single roads, you will pass Cheerbrooks Farm shop, on the right. The meat there is brilliant. Not cheap, but 100% better than supermarket stuff. Anyway, glad you have landed on your feet Martyn. Nothing better than working for family firms. They do look after you.

Hi Martyn, I have changed jobs this year too, now on a tipper for Andrew Hopkins Concrete near Shepton Mallet. My truck is 8 years old and a bit battered but I don't have to share it now 😊 I have my nameplate in the front and it's booked into Truckfest at Shepton Mallet in a non judged class, first year for experience next year maybe a newer truck that's tidier so I can enter a judged class. Have a good weekend with Claire and another great week out and about

I've never been on containers don't know nothing about them so I'm learning about them I do have a question do you use your own sat nav or do you like one that is built in the truck
