His humbleness, how he helped her family In Lydia's case and yet he asked it to be kept as a secret .... he didn't do it to acquire her Yes in Compensation..but he did it for HER. He always liked her.... even though everyone In those Era cared about their family connection, he choosed to take look at his flaws told by someone inferior to his birth, this shows he wasn't egoistic....and if anyone is that humble, kind, gentleman, caring... and smart mature... and handsome and rich too... I went to my friends house yesterday, and we sat down in front of the tv intending to watch stranger things, but a minute into the first episode, she turned it off, yelled " PRIDE AND PREJUDICE" into the remote, and i kid you not, skipped through the entire movie to see " he's so.. he's so.. he's so rich" then she promptly turned stranger things back on.

This movie/story advocates for love marriages but we know that 2 centuries ago this was not the truth. Jane Austen was ahead of her time and the books she wrote serve as an example of many hypocrisies in the society. She most likely lived a bitter life witnessing so much bs around her and thus found refuge in writing.
