I just finished this game. Ended somewhere around 80-90% items found. I randomly click on the time bar, in 5 seconds I learn that you can jump in morph ball mode (without bomb) and access to a missile expansion I missed.... I don't finish many games. This one was just as enjoyable as back in GC days (if not more)
04:56:22 In the Furnace Room, here's the secret to Boost Ball. As you are coming down, boost just after the curved part. You basically boost the moment the ground is flat. DONT boost on the curve. Time it just after the curve.
Crazy. Playing on PC using Yuzu paired with my Xbox controller. Rocking the AM5 platform with 32gbs of ddr5, a gen 5 NVMe and a RX 7800 XT GPU. It's not worth buying a Nintendo to me, but damn they still make good games. Although it barely uses 20% of my resources at all the highest settings.
This is a great LP! I beat this game so many times. It was always so fun to play back in the day. Even before this is remastered, it still holds up very well. It looked even better if you connected component cables to the Game Cube.
I can't wait to get this Metroid Prime Remastered Game on my Nintendo Switch to have the Full Game downloaded while having it fully occupied in no time so I can enjoy whenever I want to when I'm ready. BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for this walkthrough. I lost track of you on one missile expansion and I could not get myself up high enough for the final half pipe expansion. Completed the game with 97 percent completion. This was better than the 93 percent following an old Prima Guide Book I bought back in 2001. Again Many Thanks!
Thanks mate. I originally wanted a more in depth run, but after watching commentary filled "100%" guides, I lost all interest in wanting to even play the game. This is perfect. Thanks so much.
Just a random tip, I thought I was taking crazy pills. In the Frost Cave, if you shoot missiles without being locked on, it won't drop those Stalactites. Wasted so many missiles.
I was watching old gameplay from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. I swear if they deliver that game remastered like this one, we'll be blown away. I was looking at the assets and structures in MP2. Guys I hope we get it soon.
I just finished watching the LP. They changed Samus' face. It's not a bad change and it's probably because they were able to render a more detailed face in this remaster. Well, that's not a complaint. They did a great job remastering this game. I look forward to more of these and I look forward to playing the new one when they release it in future. Also, GG!
I'm genuinely kind of baffled how anyone plays this without a guide lol, you would literally turn a 6-8 hr game into 25 hrs by just wandering the wrong directions endlessly fighting respawning enemies. I really wish the remaster would have added the ability to fast travel between save stations or biomes, manually backtracking between rooms you've been to 90 times to get to the opposite side of a giant map to grab 1 thing then go back to where you just were with no fast travel feels like pretty aged/archaic design at this point TBH. I love the games atmosphere combat and puzzles but navigation is honestly such a directionless headache. It would be completely different if you could tackle different objectives out of order, but it's a very linear game, just set across a very non linear map with a million opportunities to get lost. Obviously I'm not super well versed in Metroid/vanias, maybe this is just standard for the genre, but the lack of direction and potential for massive time wasting is a little much IMO.
This is true. I finished 2D metroid dread and I feel like 2D metroidvanias at least make it a bit less disorienting. But you are right. Make no mistake : 95% of people that finished this game looked up a guide like this at some point. They will all claim they finished it in less than 5 hours on hard, blindfolded, with only one hand on their first playthrough. It’s a common unspoken thing with metroid games. The most fun you can have with these games tho, is when you already finished it once or twice, and play it on hard or try to speedrun it. when you already know where to go. But honestly the replay value for this game, is a lot less good than metroid dread for example.
It's from a different time, a time when games were far less convenient to get a hold of so you were usually stuck playing a handful of them. Part of the fun was figuring things out and stumbling into secrets. Hard agree about the game needing a fast travel system, though. Samus' ship was right there and fully functional the whole time!!
Thanks for making the guide. I like the game. It makes a lot of fun but on a critical point of view, the game is to difficult for player who never touched a Metroid before. They should have added at least a sign on the map where to go next. I always get lost. I understand that this is the Metroid formula but this doesn’t mean that is a good gameplay design either. Don’t understand me wrong. I enjoyed Metroid Dread a lot. But as Kid I never was able to play through Metroid prime 3 (my first prime game). I thought after completing Dread I am already ready for Prime as an adult but I was wrong 😐
That's kinda the point with all Metroidvania like games. U have to figure out where u need to go next. If they did tells u where u need to go and forces you to go there without any freedom, than it'll ruins the reputation of what makes Metroidvania style games... well, Metroidvania like.
The "sign on the map" is places that you haven't explored yet. This is an exploration game, not a shooty shooty bang bang game. It's fun to shoot things in this game, but it's really about exploring everything and everywhere, finding secrets and pathways and figuring out that you can go to new places with new powerups
Dude, don’t pay these guys reacting to your comment any mind. You’ll find that in the “Metroid community” there’s this elitism when it comes to skill. The truth is 50% of these people talking you down had to look up were to go themsleves. Now they just act like they are above you. The other half just remembers where to go from when they were kids and had way, waay to much time on their hands. I should know, I’m one of those old guys. Fact is, there is no “skill” involved when it comes to just finding where to go. It can be rather frustrating. It is just a matter of how much time you are willing to spend wandering around.m looking for the next bit. Ask any real metroid player. As with any Metroid game, the game gets a lot more fun on your 2nd, 3rd, etc playthrough. Discovering the path yourself might be very rewarding when you find it. But wandering around for 3 hours is more frustrating than the upside of the eventual reward. I’d definitely advise you to stick with the games, they’re a lot of fun. Just don’t become one of these “elites” once you finished it a couple of times. We might poke fun at Dave Jaffé for saying the onboarding of metroid games suck. He’s become a meme at some point. Deep down we know he does have a point. The searchinng secrets is really a product of a bygone era. And I feel you are right in that the game could use an amateur mode, maybe not for veterans, but for newcomers. And if there is ever anything Metroid needs, it’s newcomers. I fear the elite mentality will just scare away new players. Good luck on getting good games if they don’t attract newcomers 😉 so you’re all good my dude.
Metroid can feel confusing, but don't give up! Prime does give you beacons to follow, but it's up to you to figure out how to get there. Don't be afraid to check the map screen often, because reading it and figuring out a route is part of the experience. Generally: check the map for places you _haven't_ explored yet, or places you have been which are placed just before unexplored areas. That's where you'll find a way forward. (I'll concede finding the Chozo Artifacts is kind of a pain, though)

Lucky you, you played game before they buffed the bosses (especially elite pirate at 4:13). You cannot beat him anymore in the first attempt with enhanced vision, he will regen full health after 2 attempts (you made 4). And then he spawns mor elite adds also. Much harder now.
Answer to my own question after researching. You're not supposed to be able to do that until later, and the mid air bomb blast is an exploit that you have mastered no doubt. I'm just not good enough to manage the exploit, but I wish I was, lol. If you're like me just make a note of that part and come back when you get the right gear that allows you to easily grab the missiles.
I'm a metroid superfan but I'm having a major issue with MP Remastered. I've played through the game a dozen times since the remaster came out, and the same technical problem happens every....single....time. During the final phase of the final boss when he lays down a pool of phazon, I morph and boost towards the pool and lay a power bomb on the way to take out any fission or hunter metroids that spawned. But then I can't unmorph! I have to press the button to unmorph dozens of times before it finally works. Sometimes the phazon pool is gone before I can even stand in it because it takes so long to unmorph. This doesn't happen anywhere else in the game, just that last part. It's adding whole minutes to my completion time and it's totally game-ruining for me. Is this happening to anyone else?

At 5:08:33 he fell out of your lock on, and then you checked your radar to see where he was at, which is why you looked directly at where he was gonna appear
It would be perfect in 3th person. Thats the only one isue in this game you can't enjoy watching the armor whe you get a new one.
