@@mikemeyers400I only watched the cutscenes for that game. I love the story, but the blade summoning system, the way it can be wirdly mysoginistic at times (imo), and the awkward dialogue put me off. Still the main story is rly well done and the characters are great

This game is very existential. But it has a duality. It's not just saying that life is merciless and nothing is guranteed, it's saying that we should hope and fight for that hope because that's what gives our lives meaning and even if things don't work out, give yourself grace. At least you tried, and you can pass your wish onto others. That fear for the future is something we all have to grapple with day by day. It's scary, and it can lead us astray, but if we stay the course, we can overcome it. A true culmination of what the series has always been saying. It can be cruel, it can be painful but ultimately in with all the pain this game contains a gift, from it's developers to us, the audience. I'm so glad it exists.

This is my favorite media franchise that I've ever come across in my three decades. I discovered Xenoblade Chronicles in 2015. I am not a JRPG player, I've tried some of the other big titles like Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts and they couldn't get through to me. Somehow this game did. It did in such a big way. It became a huge part of my worldview and my outlook of life going forward, it made me who I am today. I owe so much to this series for the adventure it took me on, and I've tried to repay it by sharing the artistry and emotion of Xenoblade with people around me. However, it is -such- an enormous undertaking to get through this series and reap the rewards waiting at the end of this long journey. It's not for everyone. My experience with Xenoblade has been something I've carried alone with me for almost a decade now, and I've really only been able to make the connection to others through streams like this.
I have watched so many streamers and creators explore these games and uncover the magic within, and, Violet, I am -so- happy to have seen someone with such unbridled, unfiltered love for Xenoblade go through these titles and resonate with them and more importantly, SHARE THAT LOVE WITH THE WORLD. I've watched every episode and it has been such a catharsis to see your heart and soul pour out through these games. You can only experience these games for the first time once, and I'm not a streamer or anything, but I wish I could go back and see my first steps through these worlds again and relive those feelings outside of my memories.
Watching your streams has been the closest I could come, and it brought me such a deep catharsis. So I wanted to tell you "thank you" for sharing this with everyone on the internet. Thank you so much. :)

After the death of The Architect and Zanza the worlds slowly began to drift together again, now that the person who originally split it into two was dealt with and the people in each world seized their own destiny. Obviously each world detected this and thus a way was found to communicate beyond the barriers that seperate each pocket dimension, which they called "light".
Since each dimension is basically made out of opposing matter, once they collide, they will cancel each other out becoming nothingness. Which is why each universe coordinated to build one half of Origin, to store every bit of data of their respective worlds inside of it and basically reboot both dimensions after they crash together.
Everyone's fear and uncertainty if the plan will work out was what birthed Z, who seized Origin amalgamating a "virtual world" where the souls of every living being was trapped in an "endless now". Though there were countless individuals along the thousands of years who began to oppose the will of Mobius, be it the city folks basically new life never recorded in Origin, or the countless reincarnations of Noah und Mio, I'd even wager that like with Eunie, that even Crys had some memories seep back after being reborn in a cradle. The system was not perfect, but as long as the Consults could snuff out the flames of soldiers that became "problematic" or even Z making them join his ranks, everything could continue as he wanted.
In the end Z was nothing more than the natural fear of change that everyone harbours. Thus you assumption was correct that Z was in reality pretty weak, aside from being an administrator in Origin of course, but aside from that he only embodies the fear of what would happen if Origin activates and fails to properly restore each universe. (Of course that only scratches the surface of everything)
You are right though in the final cutscene. For the zoned out Noah only a few seconds at best had passed between witnessing the two worlds collide and Origin kicking in restoring the world to its former state. The memories of Aionios only being a hazy silhouette like Mio described in her final diary entry. It is speculated that everyone still has memories of Aionios lingering inside them waiting to surface once more, maybe as a strange dream, or a deja-vu like moment. Though I don't know if Noah hearing the off-seer tune in the end is a memory that surfaced for him, or has to do with the final cutscene of the DLC Story.
It was a pleasure experiencing the main game through your eyes! I watched a lot of lore/explantion videos after I finished the game and I really have missed a lot of subtext when I was playing it myself, really loved to see you pick up on a lot of details and your theorycrafting.

    “I am NOT okay”
Is anyone ever after playing this game? :,)
That cutscene where the worlds begin to drift apart with that song gets to me every time. You’ve spent just about every hour of the game with these characters, watched as they went from enemies to allies, to friends, to even more, growing stronger all the while. And when that cutscene hits, much like the characters as they sprint towards each other, you feel a similar pain in your heart that they feel; you don’t want them to part, you may even want to go back to when they were together traveling the world. And yet in that moment, you too are Moebius, wishing for that endless now.
    I love this game.
This game was my first foray into the Xenoblade Chronicles ride, and as such I have shifted to playing from the beginning in XC1, and will continue all the way up through Torna before getting into Future Redeemed. That said, enjoy your journey into the DLC!

Your Alvis XB1 rant actually does make a lot of sense. The moebius feeding on the lives of the soldiers is totally a parallel to Zanza doing the same to the poeple of the Bionis. It also has some ties to Gnosticism. Gnosticism believes that ever person has a little piece of God in them, a spark of creation that makes them a person. And what do they call the life energy that spills out of people when they die in xenoblade 3. Sparks. Moebius are literally feeding on the little bit of divinity in each person over and over and over again.

Mobius S is really tragic when you consider that she never got that do over she wanted. Shania never got a chance to be reborn and live in the colonies as a soldier. Just immediately into being a Mobius.

The good news for her is that in the new world, when City people are eventually reborn due to their lives being saved in Origin, Shania will have the chance to be the painter she always wanted to be. Same with other Citizens whose dreams were on hold due to the war with Moebius in Aionios.

Thank you for posting one of the most impassioned and thoughtful playthroughs of this game I've seen. The way you connected with the themes and emotions of the story was very raw and genuine. I know you started this playthrough series saying that you feel you left a lot unsaid and weren't happy with how you held back at the time of streaming, and it is noticeable at times. But since you brought attention to it at the start, it makes those moments I noticed really powerful upon viewing it in this format. The desire to speak, but hesitating is very honest in its own way. I look forward to seeing you experience the absolute fanservice that is Future Redeemed.

You finishing Shania's sidequest and then coming out with being burned out and feeling like everything is pointless just about sums up the last two years for me, suspiciously starting near the time I played through this game. This past year in particular has had a few things that are each individually life-changing (reframing your entire life/identity) or rebirthing in a sort of way, but it's still there, ebbing and flowing. I hope you at least have someone who's deeply important to you for ongoing help and joy because it's been a wild time without anyone.

Saying the villain is full of himself is kinda awkward when the villain in question is literally the manifestation of the collective fear and regret of humankind.
That just means humans in general are cringe...
Calling Z full of himself and unoriginal implies he has any real personality of his own in the first place. Guy isn't a real person, he is the raw emotion of collective humankind unintentionally resonating with the big reality-warping death star, causing their most innocent and primal desires to manifest to unfortunate extremes. Freezing the world, making an endless war just to provide empty purpose to its residents, treating tumultuous lives as "amusement", all of it is just the sum total of average human feelings without rationality or depth. It's unoriginal precisely because you're just looking at a giant purple-foggy echo chamber in the vague shape of a person. Talking to Z is useless because he lacks the mental capacity to truly consider your point of view...only moebius can understand and reject moebius, which made Noah and Mio's acceptance of and fusion with their other selves pivotal in concluding the endless now.

    • @theinimitablejora522
      @theinimitablejora522 3 месяца назад +3

Exactly, he’s fundamentally the manifestation of the negative half of the collective unconscious. That’s why he’s so pathetic, he’s every pathetic impulse we as humans inherently have the power to rise past collected in a vague haze. This game took the ideas of a game like Persona 5 and did it actually right- its events not fundamentally contradicting themselves for the sake of a thematic point that actually makes sense.

This game got me very emotional, and it’s incredible how a lot of us hated Tion at the beginning of the game, and in the end you love it, all the cast, is amazing, you feel that connection with all of ‘em and that’s something difficult to do, the fan service of Xeno 1 and 2 was cool too,
But overall this game pushed me to do things I’ve never done before, (st*pid as it sounds) all this game talking about the future, your friends, being stuck in the past, all the regret someone can have, or being in “the endless now” (the comfort zone without changes), find you calling, move to future, and all the final lines of Noah, about run stray, cry in frustration, but choosing our path and walk on!
This game is one of my Top 10 for sure! The animation on scenes, voice acting, and music! The music! Oh god! 10/10

The entire team at MonolithSoft created something very special and very magical with the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise that is still amazing that the first Xenoblade game became the greatest JRPG of its generation and also help revitalize the JRPG genre when it first released and lead to this incredible story-driven trilogy. Better than modern Final Fantasy! We’ve come a long way since the Operation Rainfall fan campaign. Even after so many past projects from Xenogears, Xenosaga, and Baten Kaitos, it was Xenoblade Chronicles that shined a bright light at MonolithSoft and help them create a franchise that has garnered mainstream success and appeal, that they are satisfied with, and feel compelled and confident to further challenge themselves into what new stories to tell and new ideas and inspirations they can make in their future projects they are working on next. Each game has some powerful plot twisting moments and emotional endings that MonolithSoft probably did not know would literally have fans crying during those moments.

When I first finished playing this game I also felt "incomplete". I knew I played a good game with a very powerful theme, but I wanted answers like something to link the previous two games to this game in a very fundamental way. In such a way, that would make me say "Yes, this is Xenoblade 3, the end of the Xenoblade trilogy". I mean seeing Melia and Nia and playing their side quests was a little snippit to that. In the end, it was the DLC that gave me the closure that I wanted since it provided me the answers I was looking for. Hopefully, you got that same/similar feeling after playing the DLC. :)

This is kind of a me thing I suppose, but what you said right before entering Keves Castle, about games that you feel you are meant to play at this moment of your life ? For me right now, that is the upcoming Metaphor ReFantazio. I'm not going to say anything about it, but it's made by Atlus' Studio Zero team, which is helmed by former Persona veterans. The themes... resonate with me a lot, just like Xenoblade 3 did. This is a game that I know will change my life.
I wonder if you would want to play it ? I think it's the kind of story that would resonate with you a lot, just like Xenoblade.

I'll be honest even before FR and the art book interview it takes a lot of reading into subtext to understand the story and especially the ending, but it *can* definitely be mostly understood just from playing the base game, it's just hard.
If you still don't quite understand, I recommend Luxin's videos on the game, all of them tbh. The GOAT was getting things right before the art book, and FR confirmed them, and no one believed him, lol

You know, it's very ironic how Shania, who wanted to die and become a part of the cycle to forget her old, shitty life ended up becoming Moebius, a being who is immortal and retains all their previous lives' memories.
She wanted to help and maintain the system governing the world, and even then, she was betrayed by it.

I can somewhat understand your comparison to capitalism in some of the cutscenes. But you can't really keep using that term without acknowledging that you are currently playing this piece of media through the means of capitalism(buying the game, playing on stream with the means of allowing people to pay you donations). It's the people that run the system that can be corrupt. Not the system itself.

One thing I can give this series hard credit is making the Nopons work as a mascot... Like way back XB1, they're just weird creatures and stuff, XB2 didn't helped with Tora's fetish but XB3 not only gave us the CHADDEST Nopon of all time but a sweetheart like Manana as well..

Chapter 7 spoilers below if you haven't finished the video!
Xenoblade fans had speculated that the worlds of 1 and 2 might have combined at the end of their stories, but it turned out to be a bad thing. Origin was made as a kind of "restore point" to recreate the world after its destruction. The problem is, in order for this idea to work, everyone has to die. The worlds exploding was part of the plan, but nobody wanted to die. That fear was aboard Origin with everything else, and it coalesced into Moebius.
Z used Origin to stop time, thinking that he was preventing the worlds' destruction. Much like Interlinking, though, keeping the worlds frozen together was dangerous, hence the annihilation events. We find out at the end that the worlds would pass each other harmlessly if time were allowed to continue. In their efforts to save the world, Moebius were actually destroying it.
The final boss fight used a lot of cool ideas (splitting up the party, involving the heroes and queens, etc.), making it a really lengthy gauntlet, but I like how it ends. Chapters 5 & 6 showed us hope, took it away, and gave it back again; but it wasn't really a happy ending. I feel like Chapter 7 gave closure to most everyone, even M and N. Sorry for the wall of text, but this chapter is loaded with juicy lore, and I enjoy theorizing.

A while ago I saw a stream of another girl who in turn was playing XC2 without knowing XC1 - suddenly chapter 10 comes on, and instead of a jaw dropping.... I gather from your reactions that you probably haven't played XC2? No reaction at all to Poppi and the photo with Rex? It's a shame because it's a great game and a wonderful story, understanding Future Redeemed without knowing XC2 will be virtually.... impossible. You will miss out on a lot of content and a lot of plot connections, you won't be able to connect it to anything, where there should be emotion, you'll only get confusion. I can't help but think it's a bit disheartening that you didn't play Xenoblade 2 before this one. It explains your complete non-reaction to two things in the final cutscene that otherwise would have made you explode from joy and surprise. I don't know what reason you had for skipping Xenoblade 2, but Xenoblade X aside, I consider Xenoblade 2 the best one among the trilogy and because of the mostly self-contained story it tells, I'd urge you to go back to it despite having finished XB3 already. Fwiw, the XB3-DLC "Future Redeemed" will fall very flat for you without knowing XB2.
Pls consider this well-meant advice, not some sort of attack. Ultimately, you decide what you want to play. I can only say again: Give Xenoblade 2 a chance. It has all the emotions and drama that made you like XB3, too. Have a nice day!

    • @monolithsoft_guy

@@mikemeyers400 Agreed (XBX aside, that's my overall favorite Xenoblade)! I even made a video about the permanent attacks against its rare pervy humor scenes, because it annoyed me how some people dismiss the whole game because of those. I''ve replayed the game so many times and while I prefer XB3's dark theme of death and souls, XB2 has more emotional breadth and more diverse party members who bring different stories to the experience. All Xenoblade-games are great, really, so I'm always confused and saddened when people fight.

It's funny to think that Ghondor is unknowingly standing next to her greatgreatgreat grandparents. Note that both Ghondor and Shania act very differently in the Japanese version.
What we know is that the souls are not wasted, some might not be reborn in Z's world, but they DO return when the flow of time continues _(Joran returns)_ But what about all those new lives/souls not "Recorded in Origin" _(They probably come back as they die the same way as Mobius)_
Z's world is complete and over the top Totalitarian (Bleak looking). "A"s world is complete and over the top Totalitarian (Nice looking) A similar depiction is used in *Tales of Arise,* showing various forms of oppression, sometimes you don't know you're nothing but a slave to something.
The problem I had with the story is that the Vandham bloodline comes from Nia's world. Not from Melia's world. It could just have been a name-drop.
Some people think that THIS saga was actually a prequel to the other Xeno games. Which would make no sense because, for instance, in Chronicles 2 Klaus talks about that world, and "A" shows it in Future redeemed, and Chronicles X flees from that world.

    • @masterprick1

Vandham exists in Melia's world, too. They just translated his name differently. A certain charming fellow with a majestic mustache shares the name in Japanese.
