Okafor's game is still all offensive and I think he still has a place in the NBA and on a team with a good C/PF he could be a good teammate like in Minnesota next to the BigCat especially when they want to slow the game down because they can spread the floor with everyone else being a 3 point threat while Okafor being able to get his down low or kick it out if a double comes. If Okafor's head is right and he knows his role the Timberwolves could use him to play bully ball against the small lineups, after all the NBA will always be about forcing other teams to play your style and while this would not be a championship formula I think it could be fun to watch and pretty effective against some high caliber teams who lack true size and depth at the 4 and 5 spots.
I think Jahlil Okafor is just unfortunate that the situation was never right for him. He was drafted to Philly, then they got Embiid and already had Nerlens Noel. He gets passed around the league to a bunch of teams that liked to play fast, and so didn't get much playing time. His lack of defense also didn't help. We all see how talented he is offensively, face-up, back to the basket, he has all the big man moves and they look smooth as hell. When he was on NOP and Davis went down he had a stretch of games where he averaged 20+ on very efficient shooting. I still believe Okafor can be an asset if given the right situation.

Bennet and Gilcrist just weren't hyped. They just had bad luck to be taken early by crazy franchises.
Okafor is an exellent example. Beasley and Rubio were hyped in my eyes. Neither could be a Nr 3 on a championship team though.
