I got this generator with my house when I bought it two years ago. It runs great but was leaking fuel at the rubber grommet attaching the fuel line to the gas tank. I replace that in this video and is ready for storm season! Авто/Мото
What a wonderful design. SIMPLE. I remember when you were doing 90% Walmart rejects. Man you are doing great.
Thanks Bruce, yes a simple design that works. Walmart rejects didn't pan out this year, couldn't find them anywhere. Not a huge loss.
At least you got a plastic gas tank and not a metal one even if the plastic one has issue,s that make you have to find a used one or a new one for a not. So nice price a little 3 in 1 oil on the new fuel filter make it side in easier
I was thinking the same thing myself.
@@JustMe-pp8mn that is the best thing that I have ever have ever done is give great advice to everyone else
Grommet goes in "alone" first. Then valve. Use a lube on valve that won't damage grommet/rubber. Would go easier if you took the tank off and put it on the floor. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the tip!
Not exactly...if you look at the fuel shutoff, it can slide a short distance inside the grommet. Pushing the shutoff up into the tank relieves pressure on the grommet allowing it to be removed. Installation...push the shutoff all the way into the grommet (you can see the metal barb near the end of the grommet.) Install grommet and valve into tank THEN pull the shutoff down (away from tank) until it stops. The barb expands the grommet and seals the opening. Regards.
@@Kntryhart Potato Potatoe. but thanks. But generally, rubber "things" pretty much always go in a bit easier with either a safe lube or sometimes hot water.
Never replaced one of these pit clocks and thought it was pressure fitted . Good video ....
Thank you, easy job but a lot of people won't fix it and throw it out for a reason like that.
Ellis Mowers That's where guys like us come into play , but I don't get much stuff given to me like Henry Lin and you do . But it all works out for the good as they say .
Use wd40 to make it slide in and take tank off so you can get better downward force on it and it will pop right in
Thank you! I never think about stuff like that in the moment haha.
Excellent video. I am not strong enough any more to do that the way you did. I probably would have to remove the tank and try to push it in the tank. Great job however.
Thank you, I could have used WD-40 to make it easier on me but got it nonetheless!
Great video! I have the same exact problem with my fuel tank grommet fuel shut off attachment. Would you possibly have a part number for the replacement shut off piece for the tank? Thx!
Those tanks are pretty universal so if you find a grommet and elbow kit together it should work just fine. Just search "generator fuel grommet" and "generator fuel shutoff" and that should get you what you need.
Good video im sorry for comment so late
No such thing as a late comment John. Thanks for watching despite all that's going on in your life right now.
@@EllisMowersandmore yes but trying to stay positive not easy but trying
Would wd 40 or some oil around the grommet help get that in the tank?
Most likely so.
You need to use water based Super slick that you can buy in drug stores in the Adult section in the Pharmacy?
Where did you get your valve/grommet? Part#?
I got it off ebay. They are a universal item that can go on generators, mowers, etc.
I need that item. So what is it called? Lol I been searching ebay but I can't find it. I've tried pet cock valve and universal pet cock. But this exact one I can't find.
Nvm I found it. Lol. Thanks for the video!
Put oil on it and it will slide right in
Thanks Rick, never think about it in the moment of doing it haha.
Not saying anything but why don’t you try putting some soap on it work!!
