I grew up watching Sly, first in Rocky in 1976 and through the 80s and 90s and when I was about 20 and this would be around 1987 I thought that Sly was just a really bad actor who made sequels, who just happened to get lucky with Rocky (1976). I was a stupid, conceited, arrogant young man who thought he knew everything. It's only today and for the last 10 or 15 years that I realized that Sly is a fantastic story teller, he may not be Daniel Day Lewis but there are character that even Daniel Day Lewis can't play as well as Sly ...also I never noticed til now how much of a lisp Sly has.
