I remember that tiny classified ads one. I guess I've always had a good BS detector because my thoughts on those scams was always thinking "If you can make so much money doing that, then why aren't you doing it instead of selling people a program on how to do it?" It's common sense, if you have a way to make a ton of money you don't go telling everyone how to do it, you keep it to yourself and rake in the cash.
Many, many years ago there was a friend-of-a-friend who was telling us how he was making tons of money just "putting tiny ads in the paper". I've watched enough late night TV to know he was just quoting this guy and he was making no money whatsoever. I nodded and backed away. :)
I remember this guy. SNL, back when it didn't suck, did some pretty good skits about him. Shit, I'm old. I remember Cindy Margolis too. She's still hot.
@anzaca1 I would venture most. Definitely most in the mainstream. That's not to say there isn't decent politicians doing decent work. But most are bought and paid for and only do your biding when things align. I would argue someone like Trump is one of them. He litterally lost over a billion dollars while serving, countless democrat friends. He could have easily just stayed being Trump and life would have been far less complicated. Think aa you may about the guy, I might even agree but there's no way that he entered the presidential race, won and became rich off it. He saw America's troubles and thought hey these guys are screwing you over, I got a better way and he paid dearly for it and he's hardly alone just there's your mainstream example. Only politicians who go in to public office and gain massive wealth are crooks but unfortunately there's quite a few.
Just glad he didn’t end up being a Peter Popoff scamming pastor. He could have very well been one. Like you said, sad he didn’t focus on legit business opportunities
I used to hate seeing his face. He would always be extreme close-ups. He had the want ads. he had the vitamins. He had all kinds of various products and they always had his face take over the entire screen.
So far I'm here 4:50 and what he initially did sounded like "convenience", like the time I bought a Hot-N-Ready Pepperoni pizza(at the time $5) and Id go somewhere to try to sell it $5 per slice 😈😈😈😈
The 900 numbers he sold were adult chat lines. Back then they were EXTREMELY popular and thousands of people made tens of millions of dollars with them. He did not scam with that. He just didn't tell people that the best money came from sex cht lines followed by the psychic chat lines followed by the social group lines. Selling 900 numbers was totally real. If you are going to tell someone's story and pretend to be journalistic then at least get your facts straight. This would have taken about 2 minutes of research time.
I have no sympathy for him. 😊 My grandmother suffering from horrible dementia was just sold an $850 vacation package. There is no way that they didn't know, people like that prey on the vulnerable
I still have my Making Money package, and I will tell you that it still works to this very day. His greatest vitamin business was riddled with staff that had ill intent causing it to be driven to the nasty point it got to. Have you no compassion for the child he left behind?
Lol, TOTALLY remembered this guy from the early nineties with his "tiny ads"....kind of shocked about him un-aliving himself in 2011....another one was some guy and his wife "Chante" I think who's scam was buying foreclosed houses or something like that. He went to prison.
This man is the 90s equivalent of those RUclips scam sponsors. So cheers to the Snake oil salesman boys!
They migrate to all available communication mediums.
Got a scam add during this video 😅
@@kennyhn Nice man! haha! So poetic.
@@kennyhn That's about 90 percent of RUclips ads now, sadly.
OMG, the 'tiny classified ads' guy. I remember that scam.
Hello again Darkness. Keep it coming. These videos are lovely... Make train content again tho too.

Now I need to see him make a video on Carlton sheets.
Sounds like drop shipping.

0:56 Sure he gives the game away ‘see what we CAN’T do for you’
He scammed people out of millions, and taught others how to do the same. There really should be no compassion for the guy.
But his victims never got to see him face justice, so I'm sure some might feel like he took the easy way out.
Sounds like a politican. You know whenever one is ripping you off, because they're claiming to help you. 😂
Not all politicians. Honestly, not even the majority.

Ultimately, nothing of value was lost.

As my late mother used to say, "Some people would rather make a dishonest nickel than an honest dollar."
I think Cindy would have stood a better chance of scamming me LOL
HE sure thought HE deserved it! 👀
6:30 damn! I remember her, only now that you mentioned her. Yeah, she was internet famous before that was a thing
I hate to be that guy but... Apparently this was posted less than a minute ago? I feel special. 😂
He was right tho. He was the first at many scams that are continuing to this day on the internet (see ANY person who sells tickets to conferences)
Love your videos dude, you cover a lot of shit from our childhoods and I dig it! ❤
I used to hate seeing his face. He would always be extreme close-ups. He had the want ads. he had the vitamins. He had all kinds of various products and they always had his face take over the entire screen.
I am pretty sure half of these clips are of Tim Heidecker, awesome good job!

Hmmm ….starting out with a sketchy sketch lol 😂
self-inflicted wounds to the groin. That was how he died.

He traded his one bedroom apartment for a one bunk-bed cell with a roommate.
6:04 Cindy Margolis 😍😍😍😍
Tiny URL.
Personally I thought he was delightful in FrankenHooker.
He's a 90s shark!
What ever happened to this scammer?
Good ending
12 minutes!! I’ll take it 🎉🎉😂😂❤❤
Saul Goodman learnt from him😂
@1:16 I know u don’t mean Justin Trudeau but let’s be real… Kevin is a much more honest person.
🙄
Wake up babe… darkness just dropped a new video
Holy crap, what a great joke. Did you come up with it, or have I seen this comment a million times before?
His movements are so annoying.
Whoever edits your videos needs to lean to zoom out. This is some Horrible video footage.
