This is a nice elevator and works quite well, however it's not a traction machine. It is a winding drum elevator. Denoted by the cables from the cab and counterweight wrapping around the grooved drum, splaying off the front and back. With the deflector sheave (large pulley) guiding the hoist cable to counterweight back up the hoist-way. If this was a basement traction machine, the driven sheave wound be much narrower with the hoist ropes lopping over the sheave, into the groves of the sheaves for traction. In addition the sheaves above the shaft to guide the ropes would have a different guiding above and below.
Technik für die Ewigkeit!
Very nice!
