I love these shows too lifelong Celtics fan but honestly 76ers were the best team in basketball I feel this year but they kind of blew it they should have beat the Lakers they proved that the next year when they added most Malone and completely destroyed them
Why does this say “Los Angeles Lakers”? There’s barely a whiff of a mention of the Lakers. Most of this is about the Sixers. You’d think they won in ‘82.
If it was the best team of the 80s then why did they lose to New Jersey the next season in the early rounds of the playoffs? Then never made it back to the finals? They were great for one season, no question. Everyone on Philly seemd to have peak seasons, they were determined to get DoC a ring. Moses had Kareem # at this stage of their respective careers. Jabbar couldn't keep him off the boards. Probably wouldn't have been a sweep if LA had a full strength roster though.
The 83 sixers were definitely right there....personally I think the 86 Celtics were the best team in the 80s....followed closely by the 87 Lakers and the 83 sixers...
