Hey, sorry about the unfortunate incident, but I'm glad that there are still people who do live performance for the people like that. It's always nice to see you and other bringing this style of performance back to the community and doing this for fun too!
That waterfront location was perfect, Forrest. You have two things working for you there; the water and the fresh air. The security guards were not rude or obnoxious, thank God, but the special permit issue could either be the truth or some b.s. made up by people who don’t like street musicians. The guy who confronted you in the park may have been working the overnight shift. That may be why he asked you to leave. I remember working at a condo resort on the beach. A guy and his girlfriend asked me if they could film a music video on the property; the location of interest was the men’s room near the main lobby. The music video was made for a guy who plumbing company and the music video was a promotional video to drum up business. I had to make sure that I was not featured in the video or allow activities that could cause property damage. My sax instructor gave me this advice; Play for yourself. Play for others. Play with others. Enjoy yourself and have fun. I am glad you are back.
