So when I came out the closet and told my parents that I ate the LGBTQ sandwich I was disowned and thrown out. I finally reconnected with my father on his death bed and gave him a bite of the sandwich, teary eyed he finally accepted my food palate for what it was and we reconciled and embraced before he passed away. This sandwich has changed my life.

A local restaurant turns their regular BLTs into LGBTQ+ sandwiches every June, made just like yours, but with queso blanco. They also have the option for the +, which is amusingly, Chick-fil-a sauce, and yes, it does make this already amazing sandwich even better, because irony is in fact delicious. I've petitioned them to make it a year-round menu option, but they prefer keeping it in their yearly rotation of Sandwich of the month.
Now don't forget that all of the pieces are important! I hear many people saying that bacon doesn't necessarily fit in because it works in other sandwiches or deliberately taking out tomatoes to make the sandwich less "challenging to consume" for the public but you need to remember that without the contributions of all ingredients the sandwich would not exist today, especially tomatoes

I wouldn't eat bacon on my sandwich or use mayo, but I'm perfectly fine with other people eating it. It's their choice and their personal preferences. But you need to understand that you're suffering from a phobia if just a thought of something makes you so strongly repulsed. What if you go out and see people eating things you hate? Will that make you want to vomit? Will that make you avoid places like stores because there's things you can't even look at there? Because if so, that's not normal. But don't worry, there's a therapy for that. For example, I was suffering from crippling arachnophobia. It was affecting my day to day life and pushing people close to me away. So, I went and got exposure therapy. At first, it was hell, but then I learned that spiders aren't all that scary, and are very nice to have around in your garden. You too would learn to accept different flavors. Maybe not consume them, but not suffer from debilitating repulsion that may make you unable to walk through a store where they have lettuce, guac, bacon, tomato, queso etc. because I'm sure people close to you for sure have noticed how you act around those things and it's affecting not only you, but also your friends and family. You just need to build enough tolerance to where you can lead a normal life. And that's really not that hard.

But unless it interferes with your ability to eat a well-balanced diet, you probably don't need to go to a doctor ASAP to treat it. Many people can simply grow out of mild cases of food aversion, but if not, remember you can just get a therapy for it. If you're willing, you can always try to treat it yourself by slowly increasing your exposure to foods you don't like, changing their texture or hiding it in food you like. For example, I don't like raw tomatoes, but sun dried tomatoes are amazing. I used to suffer from food aversion towards many foods because my mom absolutely sucked at cooking. But over the years, due to accidental exposure to them in various foods I kept getting blown away at how good those ingredients can be. For example, I learned that not all tomatoes are the same. Some are watery, flavorless and disgusting on their own, and some I could eat raw whole. Both have their place in food and cooking. So I hope that you too can overcome your repulsion towards food one day.

Gay, trans, crossdressers and drag queens were all lumped together, and they all ended up in the same spaces as a result. This means that throughout all of LGBT history, they were fighting the same fights. It's often said that a trans woman threw the first brick at the Stonewall riots that kickstarted the movement. I'm not trans myself, but I recognize that trans people have played a very important role in the fight for LGBT rights, and to kick them out of the movement would mean erasing an important part of queer history.

I wouldn't eat bacon on my sandwich or use mayo, but I'm perfectly fine with other people eating it. It's their choice and their personal preferences. But you need to understand that you're suffering from a phobia if just a thought of something makes you so strongly repulsed. What if you go out and see people eating things you hate? Will that make you want to vomit? Will that make you avoid places like stores because there's things you can't even look at there? Because if so, that's not normal. But don't worry, there's a therapy for that. For example, I was suffering from crippling arachnophobia. It was affecting my day to day life and pushing people close to me away. So, I went and got exposure therapy. At first, it was hell, but then I learned that spiders aren't all that scary, and are very nice to have around in your garden. You too would learn to accept different flavors. Maybe not consume them, but not suffer from debilitating repulsion that may make you unable to walk through a store where they have lettuce, guac, bacon, tomato, queso etc. because I'm sure people close to you for sure have noticed how you act around those things and it's affecting not only you, but also your friends and family. You just need to build enough tolerance to where you can lead a normal life. And that's really not that hard.

But unless it interferes with your ability to eat a well-balanced diet, you probably don't need to go to a doctor ASAP to treat it. Many people can simply grow out of mild cases of food aversion, but if not, remember you can just get a therapy for it. If you're willing, you can always try to treat it yourself by slowly increasing your exposure to foods you don't like, changing their texture or hiding it in food you like. For example, I don't like raw tomatoes, but sun dried tomatoes are amazing. I used to suffer from food aversion towards many foods because my mom absolutely sucked at cooking. But over the years, due to accidental exposure to them in various foods I kept getting blown away at how good those ingredients can be. For example, I learned that not all tomatoes are the same. Some are watery, flavorless and disgusting on their own, and some I could eat raw whole. Both have their place in food and cooking. So I hope that you too can overcome your repulsion towards food one day.

Gay, trans, crossdressers and drag queens were all lumped together, and they all ended up in the same spaces as a result. I'm not trans myself, but I recognize that trans people have played a very important role in the fight for LGBT rights, and to kick them out of the movement would mean erasing an important part of queer history.

Unaware of what his name had been on Bismarck, the crew of Cossack named their new mascot "Oscar".
The cat served on board Cossack for the next few months as the ship carried out convoy escort duties in the Mediterranean Sea and North Atlantic Ocean. On 24 October 1941, Cossack was escorting a convoy from Gibraltar to Great Britain when she was severely damaged by a torpedo fired by the German submarine U-563. Crew were transferred to the destroyer HMS Legion, and an attempt was made to tow the badly listing Cossack back to Gibraltar. However, worsening weather conditions meant the task became impossible and had to be abandoned. On 27 October, a day after the tow was slipped, Cossack sank to the west of Gibraltar. The initial explosion had blown off one third of the forward section of the ship, killing 159 of the crew; however, Oscar survived this, too, and was brought to the shore establishment in Gibraltar.
Now nicknamed "Unsinkable Sam", the cat was soon transferred to the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal, which coincidentally had been instrumental in the destruction of Bismarck (along with Cossack). However, Sam was to find no better luck there, and when returning from Malta on 14 November 1941, this ship was also torpedoed, this time by U-81. Attempts were also made to tow Ark Royal to Gibraltar, but the unstoppable inflow of water made the task futile. The carrier rolled over and sank 30 miles from Gibraltar. The slow rate at which the ship sank meant that all but one of the crew could be saved. The survivors, including Sam, who had been found clinging to a floating plank by a Motor Launch and described as "angry but quite unharmed", were transferred to HMS Lightning and the same HMS Legion which had rescued the crew of Cossack. Legion would itself be sunk in 1942, while the Lightning would be sunk in 1943.
The loss of Ark Royal proved the end of Sam's shipborne career. He was transferred first to the offices of the Governor of Gibraltar and then sent back to the United Kingdom, where he saw out the remainder of the war living in a seaman's home in Belfast called the "Home for Sailors". Sam died in 1955.
