Did anyone else call the LucasArts tip line for help with this game like I did? Boy, that sure does date all of us! Kids today can just watch a walk through like this to advance to the next level!
No, we usually use our brains and eventually figures it out. Even back then. I don't know what kids do today, because I'm not a kid anymore, so I can't speak on their behalf.
Thehorizonaviator Widescreen makes it glitched like that. Actually I remember on an old W98 computer I had, for some reason the thing was just squarish (even if it was round before on the same computer). But at the same time the game had a hell lots of problems with this computer, first the logo at the very beginning of Canyonlands was just a black square, no music, the very last jump just before meeting Sophia was impossible, he would never grab, except one time but the glitch happened again just after in Babylon, when trying to jump onto the first building. Also cutscenes had texture issues, for example Sophia had plain white hair, the papers and the wheels of the mechanism as well, etc... I actually wouldn't mind experiencing these bugs again, it's part of my childhood somehow, I was like 5 years old or something.
ok this is what we want for a tomb raider game ,this was an awesome game no cover shooting bull crap no stealth ,just raiding tombs maze like levels shooting nazis spiders and more ,please bring this style back , gog had this game on sale a while back i bought i can't stop playing .
I loved this game back in 1999 when I was 22. While not groundbreaking I think it's a beautiful example of what games looked like when developers were just coming out of the 16-bit console era and getting their hands dirty with serious 3D programminng. Not only the devs though; level designers, graphic designers, marketing, senior management all the way down to the lowly game testers (joke - much respect to all my QA kingpins) had to step up their game (excuse the pun) during the transition. Anyway, I think (on reflection) this game captures all those efforts perfectly.
I'm completely stuck in Nub's Tomb, right at 7:19:20. When I go there, that sort of elevator doesn't have the stone block in it. And when I try to press the button to go up again, it doesn't work. Is it a bug? Any idea?

Thank you so much for doing this play through! Everyone make sure to watch the last few seconds of the credits! You will be glad you did 🙂
Oh the hours of fun I had with this. The ice monster at the end of Shambala was SO STRESSFUL.
The raft section was a pain for me...i would try my best to drift it away from the rocks and eventually I got it. Was so glad to get out of there. The Meroe Pyramids were a different story lol
This looks fantastic, the detail on the photos the graphics are tight overall. The story is quite indiana jones when you see it as a film on your head too. Plus it has dolby surround sound, wearing headphones you hear waterfalls rota around him accurately as he runs past. The music's good and very indy. Defo feel like I missed not checking this backing in the day
The ai and the shooting sections are questionable tho
The memories, I have with this game. Good times.
Any idea how to back flip? I'm playing n64 version can't figure it out
8:45:55 those gravity-defying-jumps tho
Funny how this and the Star Wars games and novels nailed the feel of their worlds better than Crystal Skull or the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
Brings back good memories!
I used to love this game! remembering good times.
8:23:03 Indy does a backflip onto a demigod in flight. The most epic ninja move ever XD
This is so exciting to see the comment section here honestly. Some how some way, I completely missed this game when the n64 was current. I learned about it a few months ago from my brother (who actually happens to be younger than me) and I just bought it. Supposed to arrive soon and I cant wait to play it. I was told it's really one of the best n64 games. So I'm very excited for this one. Always great to learn about games on consoles you love that you missed. Cheers.
How was it playing it? Controls ever feel funny or stiff like others have commented on?
I would love a remake of this game with improved gameplay and graphics. Loved playing it as a kid, but now the controls are so stiff XD
Man this game... I never got trough it, but i loved it.
I love this game
I remember playing the hell outta this many years ago, I remember I could never use the machine gun, game crash every single time, but all else was great, little glitchy but fantastic, and the quicksave was a godsend for the jumping parts..
Thanks for showing this. I wanted to play it (the GoG version) but it's not cooperating on my system, so I'll just have to settle for watching your playthrough. Hopefully "Emperor's Tomb" will be better behaved.
I loved this game.
Did anyone else call the LucasArts tip line for help with this game like I did? Boy, that sure does date all of us! Kids today can just watch a walk through like this to advance to the next level!
No, we usually use our brains and eventually figures it out. Even back then. I don't know what kids do today, because I'm not a kid anymore, so I can't speak on their behalf.
brilliant game!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this game! Btw your health gauge looks a little odd. Mine never looked like that. Interesting. Thanks for posting!
7:16:15 The diving animations are hilarious. He just forgets he's falling towards water and returns to a standing position.
ok this is what we want for a tomb raider game ,this was an awesome game no cover shooting bull crap no stealth ,just raiding tombs maze like levels shooting nazis spiders and more ,please bring this style back , gog had this game on sale a while back i bought i can't stop playing .
I remember without Internet I was desperately stuck for months in some levels.
A new Indiana Jones movie is coming up. Trailer just got released and it made me instantly think of this hidden gem 👏
23:50 Awkward moment when I thought Simon was reaching out for a fist bump when his block hand is actually out for a handshake 😂😂
This looks great on my 60 inch TV
Amazing game! Thanks for helping me complete it with your playthrough.
This game is awesome, love it ...
Damn I just got an vision for the perfect remaster opening of that scene
Who's here after the new Trailer released by Microsoft?
Can't wait to see what Bethesda has to offer in this new adventure! UwU
50:45 This spider scared me so much as a kid, me and my brother shat our pants !
loved this game!
This was really an awesome game! I hadn't played this one!
Oh damn, played this like a maniac in 2004 :D .
I'm completely stuck in Nub's Tomb, right at 7:19:20. When I go there, that sort of elevator doesn't have the stone block in it. And when I try to press the button to go up again, it doesn't work. Is it a bug? Any idea?
Did you activate the electricity with the Nub's part at: 7:17:51?
@@BlueScreen18 Yes, I did, and it's still not working.
Didn't knew this game existed, one day I will play it

Loved this game allot in the days
Tbh I wish they’d make movies out of these games, I’m honestly fascinated with the idea of ancient technology accessing another dimension and they just assumed the being was god
I first got this game when I was 10 years old and completed it when I was 13 nearly 14.
I remember that robot in the egyptian level scared the crap outta me as a kid. Love this game. We need a remake orna new indy game ASAP
