Also it's bullshit that's no more: "choose a team, play against the other". Fortunatly I build all my deck to play against every other type, and with Centur-ion I lost just and only the games that I bricked with 0 engine.

Been losing my games on team links with my stall deck from 2014
I played 25 duels in the fusion group. 24 were against synchro. Almost all of them are either centurion or tenpai.
Same for me, its all centurion and tenpai , I played against one ice barriers

i only found centurion, tenpai and ice barriers. From around 10 duels, 9 were synchros and 1 was bystial.
my most hated event was when labryth was running wild.
I know this is a hot take... But I liked that labryth event a lot, people running board breakers without realizing that if you don't kill labryth that turn you are out of luck was the best feeling ever, and I liked the lab mirror a lot even with the lady being broken in it

prospy being banned was unironically a bigger hit. but yeah, 3 dora dora, 2-3 genroku, 3 chundra, 3 paidra, 1 summoning and 1 kaimen. so in total 13-14 one cards starters that kill you. that is still insane.
2 tier0 i was using the shadoll deck with winda and construct tenpai was easier than Centurion because they cant summon because winda/Construct/Apol the one that shuts off abilities-

Real issue here is, there's not enough variety of fusion and link decks. If you look closely, the only two fusion decks available are branded which is nerfed, chimera which isn't that popular and maybe invoked shadoll that's also not very popular. In the link side, every single rescue ace card was banned and unchained is also not that popular less so without ceasar or any of the D/D/D package.
Branded was murdered. And its barely a tier 3 deck. Albaz to 1 seriously? Grass greaner banned; aluber to 1; and yeah banned the fricking retribution.
The funny thing is tenpai is barely been touched and manadium is running wild; and swordsoul centurion is working a charm.
And you can tell they were trying to make Tenpai the best deck this event because they targeted all cards that prevent opponents monsters from attacking.
Red screen is a card searchable with Crimson Gaia and Vision Resonator. They could've been a small yet strong package in a link or branded deck for countering tenpai just for Red Screen if it wasn't banned.

Yea i used scareclaw a bit too.. tenpai player tried everything to out tri heart and failed! In the end they had to use change of heart for the win lol
I think the biggest problem is that, fundamentally, Synchro's have the easiest time of these 3 being "monolocked." Think of all the good synchro decks that have dropped since the last triangle, we got free Swordsoul cards, Centur-Ions, RDA support, and now Tenpai. What have we gotten for the other two since then? Yubel, Chimera, and Salamangreat support (which they can't even fully use here, hope you didn't like that XYZ monster TOO much). Fusion meanwhile's taken hit after hit on the banlist, both the normal one and the triangle one; Tear's been nerfed to high heavens (deserved but not the point right now), Branded's equally gutted on the Fusion banlist, and let's all be honest, Yubel's biggest strength comes from its combo ability with Link monsters, without that they only have 1 negate and 1 form of interruption with their super-poly trap (which, btw, Super-Poly was ALSO hit for this event).
I gave up on my Ignister deck after a 5-7 W/L and switched to a Frankenstein's monster deck of Ghoti-Ice Barrier just so I wouldn't have to keep fighting synchro decks. I don't even wanna imagine trying to get those 1500 points with Ancient Gear cause they can't use Ballista.
I can guarentee you it'd be neck-and-neck like last year if Tenpai didn't exist. Link and Fusion decks can play mostly in their own lane, but people trying to duck out the way of Tenpai specifically is skewing the numbers heavily.
Nah man pretty much every fire/diabel deck do well with link only. This isn't a monolock issue, they just banned all the good cards.
You're probably better off playing Unchained Yubel without the Fusions than "pure" Yubel without the Links. Either way it's just gimped enough to make dealing with all the blind second nonsense going around annoying. At least the overpopulated Synchro pool means you don't have to worry about autolosing to backrow decks as often(most of which are going to be in the Link section because of Unchained Lab and Sky Striker).

I'm trying to be Kitkallos' strongest soldier, but god it's rough out there with the previous banlist and the event restrictions. I feel almost down bad enough to start running KOTS or a patchwork engine just to fetch Polymerization, because it's a lot harder to get the ball rolling. Missing Redoer makes the deck feel really bad into hand traps sometimes. Stuff like Destrudo or Trick Clown are basically useless, and you can't just link off Snow to get that little goblin back into the GY. I can stall out Tenpai with Winda, but then you can't really apply any pressure unless you have Sulliek online, so it's a real slog to get that victory. Being a purple card enjoyer is pain.

The only thing that irks me is that they put link instead of xyz. The newest pack has new decks for fusion, xyz and tempai. So now i can’t even play goblin biker in the event…

This event was just to showcase the new Tanpei archetype. It's all about money. Zombie World might become meta soon.
I really don't get how Baronne was legal (while other cards were banned), how Tenpai is pretty much released at full power while decks like branded recieved multiple limitations.
This isn't incompetence, this is just on purpose.
Majority of players why be skilled when you can run generic negate synchros and Tenpai. Me in fusion: challenge accepted class in session.

Played ten straight games against Swordsoul Centurion, and here I thought Tenpai would be miserable...
I'm using my chimera for fusion and I've noticed that my illusion monsters are hindering Tenpai because my illusion monsters can't be destroyed in battle.
Thought I'd use my swordsoul tenyi deck. Unless I can build another deck.
For Link, I build a dragon link deck. Unless I can build another deck. Was thinking of using rescue ace but they have banned all rescue ace cards from this event.
Otherwise, I only have crusade link deck.

Play salamangreat, cheap, almost free. Have backrow protection in balelynx banish. Can also go terahertz which negate all effects in battle phase

Yeah, I have been part of team LINK this tournament so far, running a tri-brigade / lyrilusc deck.
It works pretty well going first or second, and sometimes its funny when I choose to go second, and the opponent auto scoops thinking I am running Tenpai.
It is annoying that I get matched against mostly Tenpai and Centur-ion decks (75% of the time). Its fun when I get to face the rare fusion deck.
To be honest this is just a Tenpai event. They limited or banned everything that can actually be a challenge to Tenpai. So choosing any other group other than synchro us just a waste of time.

I have been playing Darkfluid OTK and didn't really go against any Tenpai decks until I hit 3k points. Now it is all I am going against. 80 percent of the decks I was going against were fusion and the few synchro I faced were a handful of Centur-ion, blackwing and Mannadium. If i could go back to those decks, that would be super cool. That win streak was nice and I miss it
What baffles me is why put fusion in the event at all if you are going to butcher it like this? Putting in xyz would have made WAY more sense because Goblin Bikers is in the new pack. I get it because maybe they wanted people to try ritual beasts but for a mono lock event like this, xyz would have been a better pick without needing to be gutted like fusions did.
80% win rate with Adventure Scareclaw Knightmare Gryphon flood. Heavy focus going first but can play through quite a bit going second. *Played 18 games and all of them were synchro 😂

So I hate Tenpai in a format with Shifter and Maxx C, but the deck has felt pretty reasonable in the event. I’ve been playing against 50% tenpai, 40% centurion, 10% other synchro, and it’s mostly just felt like ladder with a better banlist. I like it

I ran through the event with Altergeists and fusion decks were a myth to me.
I only faced synchro decks. Sorry I only faced Centur-ion and Tenpai.
I was shocked one time seeing a Mannadium synchro deck 😂.
Gold never gets old... Of 10 matches, only one was vs Tenpai, and one vs fusion (Chimera), everything else were just synchro matches
And while this is a stinker of a event, (I hope that) nothing beats Labrynth event... Between Consecrated light and EEV shenanigans, literal war flashbacks
That's what happens when decks that need few extra deck mechanics face a deck that only needs 1. Event is just bad design anyways, even without Tenpai, we have Centurion, Resonator, Synchron and others that make insane boards that other decks with such limitations cannot break. Synchro mechanic is broken when isolated, other modern decks usually use little bit of everything, few synchros, few xyz, 10 links...
Remember pendulum was the problem so we game every new deck a 1 card starter so they can just get their whole deck on board and 50 negates on board
I thought I would be cheeky and make "Fusion" deck with the budget Labrynth deck I've been building up. In a shocking twist, one of the primo anti-Tenpai decks wasn't isn't just limited, but completely banned. Imagine releasing some kind of virulent disease into a population while you cut off all production of vaccines. I just don't understand why they'd abuse the player base like this. They also gutted Yubel despite it losing the entire Unchained support and Accesscode as a finisher. It doesn't feel like this is an interesting environment to work around restrictions, it's just a playpen for the latest pet to curbstomp all challengers (who have been handicapped, just to be safe).
This may be the time I pull out Live Twin with a Knightmare Gryphon lock. Do I lose to forbidden droplet? Maybe. Do I still brick my opponent 8/10 times? Also yes
clearly tearlaments were the only problem with the meta and the banlist for the event fixed everything 😂

@sammydray5919 the part in which it makes it not fun for the majority of people, which in turn makes a lot more people less likely to spend gems for the new product since it soured their view on it which leads to both a loss in playerbase and potential gem buyers

let alone fucking goblin bikers being left out of the xyz cup and now being left out of the triangle event, they get shafted despite being new product

The biggest problem i see with these types of events is that in today's game almost every good deck plays a certain ammount of link monsters, meaning your choice of viable synchro and xyz decks goes down dramatically.
I ended up just playing endymion. Biggest problem was when servant resolved I'd guess the handtrap wrong half of the time. Summoned endymion expecting imperm, only to get double veilered after going promethean. Got a lot of ice barrier and swordsoul too.
They hit branded like crazy for no reason for this event while all the other meta decks are practically unhit. Every duel I've had so far has been against tenpai or centurion. Only good this is im playing branded burn turbo so going first becomes a nightmare for them if they dont open a board wipe
All of my control decks have been neutered by this event, not even ONE BAD WEEK kind of decks but like decks that force players to slow it down like Aromage, SubTerror/Krawler, etc. All these decks I play have been gutted, not even including stuff like Endymion and Dinomists which I cant play because they either use a mix of types or banned cards for the event. I am pretty much screwed in getting any gems.
For me, I have been playing Ghoti, and I have been agains a good variety of stuff, Traptrix/Ragnaraika, Salad, Fluffals, among other things. Still not too deep into the event, but so far so good.
It's always synchro man, i realized vanquish soul is legal, so i'm playing that, but all i face is synchro never faced a fusion or link deck.
I've been hit by 3 handtraps(ash gamma ogre) manage to make a board and he dropleted me + 1 card combo and otk, very fun deck to play against
I haven't played against anything but synchro as a link deck. But i will say i have been clapping up tenpai with unchained in this event. I did find it dumb though when every match was either Centurions, Ice Barrier, Swordsoul, or Tenpai. Centurion was by far the most common match up I have had.
I've just been playing Swordsoul honestly. Not being matched up against Tenpai is just an added bonus lmao

It's hilarious how much of that Synchro column is just either Tenpai or people afraid of facing off against Tenpai who are probably on some "go first" Synchro nonsense(yeah Centur-Ion is fine, but it STILL heavily favors going first). At least Terahertz Turbo doesn't care about that nonsense.
I won 22 out of 31 games playing with the mandimum loaner deck.
Meanwhile I'm just playing yosenju go second, went in synchro group to dodge tenpai (mostly because I need to go second) and I'm peacefully winning

If you are in synchro and want to avoid tenpai and other syncro decks, only queue in for 15 second then restart. It can take a couple of tries to find an opponent that way but it won't be against the yame group

@vergillives9890 having 3 options for Fang is way better than 2 and destruction dragon is spot removal. Makes a lot of difference. Fang of Critias paired with Lair of Darkness is also just really good. Without it I'm basically just heart og the carding everything without a viable way to have an engine.

im literaly in the Synchro group atm on Centur-ion and ive ONLY played against Tenpai so far. only played like 4 duels so far though since the bonus quests arent out, so as usual for me theres no point in trying to complete the event when i literaly cant complete it yet.
Synchro Summons are just all over the place. I've seen the Loaners, but also Tenpai Dragon, Yusei, and above all, Centur-Ion variants. One with Horus, the others with Bystial. It's basically a Negate competition.
Idk why but MD wants me to play Tenpai. I’m opening the new pack so I can get ritual beasts and all of my URs besides one were Tenpai cards.
Ended up getting all the gems after 1st day of playing the event 😅 Lots of ppl scooping as soon as they saw me playing Runick Chimera! If anything I hate playing against Centurion even more now

I mean the best loaner deck in the event is the Centurion deck so a lot of people are playing with it, myself included when I change groups, and of course Tenpei just came out as well. For a FTP like me to play a half decent deck of my own I had to turn my Dino deck into a "Blind Second" Link deck which has mostly filler cards in the extra deck.
I went Link with Ragnaraika Bugs, and had to add 3 Roars and 3 Mirror Forces just because i was getting a Tenpai every couple of games, it killed my consistency, but at least i can play the game
I am thrilled that Dinomorphia was a good choice against Tenpai and Centurion. I noticed that's all I was playing to the point where I started maining THUNDER OF RULER for a pseudo turn skip. Its brutal 😂
ive been doing my link points with cyberse firewall pile. ive personally only seen 2 tenpai in about 15 games. ive seen runicks, chimera, branded, swordsoul, and one brave ghoti duelist
Code talker firewall deck completely destroys Tenpai, both going 1st or 2nd.
These mono-type events are always a bit rough for me since one of the defining traits of many of my favorite decks is using multiple, if not all, summon types... holdover from when D/D/D got me back into the game.
Did a few duels running Amazoness in the fusion side and Ancient Warriors in the Link side... figured it'd make my duels like normal YGO where the die role determined the victor, except this time everyone will want to go second.
I’ve made some success, luckily haven’t met up against a Tenpai deck, but I’m fixing to just play my Centeurion Virtual World. It is the best deck, yes. But I would like to mix things up then go purely into a deck. Even tested it and it is pretty fun. Can easily go from 6-12 filling out the 7 and 8 levels slots just in case.
I initially tried ducking Tenpai by playing Superheavy Samurai Swordsoul, but I kept getting my teeth kicked in. In a fit of desperation to try and get some enjoyment from the event I pivoted to Link Team with Vanquish Soul. Shockingly I started doing better than anything before. Turns out Snow Devil is a very centralizing card against Tenpai by giving my dudes immunity to the most common board wipes.
Im having more success playing my centurion than tenpai. The way they limited it gives you dead hands pretty often if your opponent has 2 interrupts.
I'm currently playing Spyral (lol) and Scareklaw decks. Played almost 20 duels total and all I've played against so far are Synchro decks, with 90% of them being Tenpai. The non-engine in Tenpai is... yeah. I don't think I'm going to continue playing this event 😂
Should've made it Fusion, XYZ, and Link. Having Synchro when Tenpai literally just released was a bad idea.
what makes this event worse is replacing the xyz group with link group with those restrictions on link decks. snake-eyes is basically dead but the cards are banned regardless, no surprise about the mathmech restrictions too. and you'd think that making both the sangen spells to 1 would change anything but its pointless since all the dragons are unlimited and they happen to be good searchers themselves. if the xyz cards were allowed instead of link then maybe this could have been more interactive, as the xyz related cards can thrive more in such environment. the only upside here is that you can make a deck that is specifically designed for tenpai and get the win, surprisingly there are a good number of battle related cards allowed/ tech cards and lord of the heavenly prison is unlimited sooo you can still play the event...
Xyz would have also made more sense because Goblin Bikers is in the new pack. Also xyz can work decently well being mono locked
They should have made a Tenpai event with tenpai loaner. May the best tenpai deck win.
Been playing Tear Shaddoll in the event and doing pretty well against Tenpai. Great when I'm up aganist their Board Breakers, and with handtraps its a 50/50.
This event made me like Links. Terahertz going brrrrrr is something i'm getting addicted to, and it's surprisingly relatively cheap.
20 matches in the event so far. 15 were against tenpai, 3 against centurion and 2 against ice barriers. I'm in the fusion team and I haven't faced any link deck, and I doubt I will anytime soon (won't even see another fusion that's for sure). The only actually interactive matches from these 20 duels were the ice barriers ones. Non Synchro just can't compete with the tools synchros have in this event. I'll just start using my dinomorphia deck for floodgating them and hoping they won't have the outs.
One of the worst - if not the worst - event experience of the game and I played since day 1.
The worse part is that if they don't do anything to tenpai fast it won't be just this event that is insufferable, but the next duelist cup as well.
Had a 15 win streak using Resonators with Centurion and Bystials. My streak was broken by Tri-Brigade
I finished the fusion missions using dinomorphia.
I had to add dark bribes, iron thunders, heavenly prisons and soul of the supreme kings for all the tenpai removal.
I ran extra Alerts too and they came in handy several times.
I'm working on the link side now using reversal quiz otk.
Almost everyone is using centurion and the few that aren't are on tenpai.

Haven’t tried playing the event yet. Might just main 3x trap trick and 3x dimensional barrier for good measure.

Is say best Anti Tenpai teck is Quaking mirror force flip them bitches face-down and let them chill in timeout. My one match he had a full board all 6 monsters got flipped then end of the battle phase Evenly Matched banishing 7 cards facedown. He immediately rage quit lol😂 I was aww your +4 disruption board didn't help you? What happened 😉.
I did complete almost all the gem rewards yesterday, only missing the number of games played. Didn't see much tenpai as expected
It probably shouldn’t get annoy me this much but it infuriates me how hard branded is hit this event while tenpai is allowed to run almost full power. They literally banned retribution to make pure branded almost impossible to run. And I don’t even think it being playable in other decks is a problem because fusion decks can’t run verte. And if the locks are a problem then just ban sanctifire for this event. Literally makes no sense.
I noticed this too. I played i makeshift yubel since it got nerfed to oblivion. But i settled on yubel chimera danger with just the chimera fusion for guardian chimera and danger to help draw into yubel cards. Its ridiculous to play second and face sword soul, centurion ssh, or go first into tenpai. i got wins into all the synchro loaner decks and into my one link valmonica match
I love this event , already finished all missions. I run centurion had a lot of fun. And Scareclaw deck. I LOVE tenpai decks , there is no 100000 negates or playing 1 turn for 10 minutes or what ever , you just stop them or you dont . I love tenpai so much . Finally after how many years Good second going deck .
I have 2500 points for the Link team as salamangreat and i have played once against a branded fusion deck. Everything else was either Tenpai or Cent-urion.
Btw, the deck has a very decent match up against Tenpai since there is no Max C. It can play through handtraps, doesn't care about droplet and is resilient to board wipes. Also a 5600 Pyro Phoenix is difficult to out.
So far after 20 games 10 with Centur-ion, 5 with swordsoul and 5 with sky strikers during the sky striker duels I got matched against 2 synchro and 3 fusion, haven’t faced a single link deck yet in 15 matches using synchro deck.

Well, every time I went against Tenpai (3 times, back to back), I beat them. I played Vanquished Soul.
