4 whole days in jail for 4 violations. Oh the horror.

I spent 2 days in jail charged with a crime I did not commit. I stopped my car when I heard a woman screeching horribly. I do carry a gone and go thru training more than police do... I have a lot of extra time on my hands cuz I got lucky and was able to retire at 48yrs old.
Anyway I say a guy kicking girl in head, blood all over and I stepped in and allowed the girl to run off. As I walked away, I was hit in the back of head with a solid board and went down on one knee and he then charged at me.. no time to draw weapon.. So I put him in a triangle hold till he passed out. Police arrived, he was out, blood everywhere. Told them I was defending girl (nowhere to be found).. So I gave ID and went to jail/called lawyer.
They tracked girl down in ICU and video footage released and I got out and signed papers to file charges against him.. (got 7 years) The girl passed away.
My time in jail was not that big of a deal...actually had some people who found out what I did to save a girl and was treated by others really well by prisoners and guards.
      It was relaxing...

Amanda should go to jail not sorry...3rd techinical violation?! she isn't getting it and she isn't surrounding herself with the right people. Um, obviously you DON'T take responsibility. I get why you don't want to go to jail, but if you take responsibility, you would take the punishment too, EVEN if it includes jail. I really hate listening to these people whine and cry

As an addict myself, 5 years sober, one of the universal truths about addiction and recovery is accountability- while cutting out certain friend groups plays a big role in the process, the addict themselves is the only one who can do the work, learn the coping skills, put in the necessary effort to retrain their brain, learn to control their addictive voice, it’s a TON of hard work and it’s ongoing. It’s a slippery slope to start placing responsibility on other factors because there is a risk of forfeiting your own personal responsibility. It’s very hard but it’s worth it.

I think the hope is that when they get detoxed for a few days, they will think more clearly and like the feeling of being in control. Not that it works very often, but at least she won't be high next time she goes to court.

The fentanyl woman will not make it in recovery, is unfortunate, but if she finds it too hard now what will happen when she has a life crisis, she will turn to drugs. The depression can be dealt with during recovery time and should continue after leaving the recovery program.

If I were to judge I would be a bad one😂😂*" because I'm leading with my emotions rather than the "law".. being that I have 6 years or so clean.. I know she's nowhere near ready for recovery.. because she isn't telling the truth and she's making excuses. On top of** manipulation...Once you're halfway to the recovery... You start making reservations.. reservations with telling the truth and finally taking accountability for your fuckups and being okay with that uncomfortable feeling!

It's weird hearing the name Bechtol from the bench, it is my maiden name. I don't know how or if she is related to me, but she isn't the first Bechtol I've found online that I never knew existed. I found my double cousin (our grandfathers were brothers married to sisters) on FB, and we met 2 years ago for the first time! It's not a common name in the US, so every time I hear it, my ears perk up a little. lol

Its brutAL BEING in that environment while your withdrawing. When shes ordered back to court in four days, unless she somehow gets a fix, i would be surprised if she could even make ir shes going to be so sick. Uncontrollable puking and shitting sometimes simultaneously. Its terrible and i wouldn't wish it on anyone

Four days is hard if you haven't detoxed. What a waste! Addiction destroyed my entire family. So instead of dealing a problem or problems, you now have problems compounded with addictions.
