4 whole days in jail for 4 violations. Oh the horror.
I spent 2 days in jail charged with a crime I did not commit. I stopped my car when I heard a woman screeching horribly. I do carry a gone and go thru training more than police do... I have a lot of extra time on my hands cuz I got lucky and was able to retire at 48yrs old.
Anyway I say a guy kicking girl in head, blood all over and I stepped in and allowed the girl to run off. As I walked away, I was hit in the back of head with a solid board and went down on one knee and he then charged at me.. no time to draw weapon.. So I put him in a triangle hold till he passed out. Police arrived, he was out, blood everywhere. Told them I was defending girl (nowhere to be found).. So I gave ID and went to jail/called lawyer.
They tracked girl down in ICU and video footage released and I got out and signed papers to file charges against him.. (got 7 years) The girl passed away.
My time in jail was not that big of a deal...actually had some people who found out what I did to save a girl and was treated by others really well by prisoners and guards.
It was relaxing...
But your honor I only took one little sip....... at a time....... until the bottle of whisky and keg of beer was done....
lol!
I wonder why a woman who won't do sobriety court thinks jail wouldn't be the alternative. I'm surprised she is doing only 4 days.
This Judge doesn’t play around, but has a heart too
Judge Shackleford REALLY has a detailed understanding of addiction recovery!! BRAVO, Judge!!!💝💝🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Four Days of DeTox.
Yep. She'll be different on the other side.
Wow, she's good. That's justice, all of these cases. Stength, mercy and true understanding of defendants needs. She's a gem. Amanda, use her wisdom to stay clean, forever 🎉
Amanda should go to jail not sorry...3rd techinical violation?! she isn't getting it and she isn't surrounding herself with the right people. Um, obviously you DON'T take responsibility. I get why you don't want to go to jail, but if you take responsibility, you would take the punishment too, EVEN if it includes jail. I really hate listening to these people whine and cry
As an addict myself, 5 years sober, one of the universal truths about addiction and recovery is accountability- while cutting out certain friend groups plays a big role in the process, the addict themselves is the only one who can do the work, learn the coping skills, put in the necessary effort to retrain their brain, learn to control their addictive voice, it’s a TON of hard work and it’s ongoing. It’s a slippery slope to start placing responsibility on other factors because there is a risk of forfeiting your own personal responsibility. It’s very hard but it’s worth it.
Four years sober. I went through everything you said. By the grace of the Lord. Therefore goes I. Thank you for sharing. Blessings Be.
Send her to jail for a wake up call, she wasn't sober for 7 months liar, she just got caught
Voice that Cuts Glass!😅
But she seems to have a heart/soul/mojo
Judge Boyd would NEVER lol
I wonder what the judge said to Amanda when she muted the sound.
This judge is always a hit or miss. Sometimes she hits the nail on the head and sometimes she completely misses it.
I agree. 4 days are ridiculous
She is just a sexist judge. Lets females get away with shit...
And you, the person with no experience or knowledge, thinks you know better? Lol
I appreciate the irony of the judges name being "Shackleford" Love seeing her. very reasonable and down to earth.
This judge is doing a great thing for these people trying to be successful in their recovery
Forcing recovery of drink/drugs rarely works, the person has gotta be that sick and tired of addiction theyre willing to go through the hard work it takes, until then theres nothing anyone can do!
True. But they still get good advice and learn good routines. And means they are familiar with the system for when they do eventually decide to get better
I think the hope is that when they get detoxed for a few days, they will think more clearly and like the feeling of being in control. Not that it works very often, but at least she won't be high next time she goes to court.
@@julianokleby1448 in my experience anyone in custody not set on recovery are just waiting to get out so they can use, and a lot of those just use in jail as they're full of drugs, but yeah they'll most likely be sober next appearance but it's no guarantee!
I ❤Judge Shackelford. Michigan has some pretty cool judges.
Prayers for a successful recovery for Amanda 🙏🏻
Lenient judge. Criminal will not change.
Judge be hatin'. She see me droppin' dirty.
"Don't screw up". Yeah, right.
This is reason why America has so, many repeat offenders. We don't punish people who break the law. 4 days in jail is a joke.
Absolutely. We need tougher sentences and more prisons.
Yeah, she needed at least 30 days, a chance to clear the spiders out of her head & hopefully accept that she needs treatment, & lots of it. 4 days? She'll be high again before she ever reaches her house.
I completely agree. The judges and prosecutors need to look at themselves as to part of the issue
@@millipedic don't we already have the highest prison population per capita in the world? or close to? or are you saying our citizens are so bad that we need to have even higher prison rates than that?
@@onbored9627 I don't know about other countries but the situation is getting dire. We need to incarcerate two or three times as many criminals as we do now.
So you better not drop dirty. Lol
All those things, and she gets only 4 days. Ridiculous
Not really. Flat drug use is not usually big time. It is the dealers and having massive amounts in possession. 4 days in jail isn't a joke. Its legit. And daughter again probably be 40. Popping for a UA isn't ever a massive amount of time.
@@danielrn133 depends on the state, in texas they give you 10 years for that
Love Judge Shacklford and Judge Slaven in Taylor.
The judge did it to probably see how ardicted she is....
The fentanyl woman will not make it in recovery, is unfortunate, but if she finds it too hard now what will happen when she has a life crisis, she will turn to drugs. The depression can be dealt with during recovery time and should continue after leaving the recovery program.
Well your Honor they were Drinking & Smoking Pot all around me, I am innocent.
I love that these are in Michigan and Wayne County! I live in Wayne County, just outside of Detroit. And I've been through the 36th district court many times before I got clean, and got my shit together. It is No Fun! Lol But I'm glad to know its not me up there anymore, sorry 🤷🏼
She went too easy on her. Thank you for not talking when the judge was talking. Yes i am talking about you guys.
Love this judge. The right combination of compassion and toughness
A little sip of a tasty beverage.
A just Judge!
It’s only four days. You can do that stand on your head. It’s literally four days. It’s not like she gave you four months.
💜💜💜
I could do 4 days in jail standing on my head
If I were to judge I would be a bad one😂😂*" because I'm leading with my emotions rather than the "law".. being that I have 6 years or so clean.. I know she's nowhere near ready for recovery.. because she isn't telling the truth and she's making excuses. On top of** manipulation...Once you're halfway to the recovery... You start making reservations.. reservations with telling the truth and finally taking accountability for your fuckups and being okay with that uncomfortable feeling!
It's weird hearing the name Bechtol from the bench, it is my maiden name. I don't know how or if she is related to me, but she isn't the first Bechtol I've found online that I never knew existed. I found my double cousin (our grandfathers were brothers married to sisters) on FB, and we met 2 years ago for the first time! It's not a common name in the US, so every time I hear it, my ears perk up a little. lol
4 mouths
Waste of oxygen.
when the judges lecture takes more time than the actual punishment... Maybe some judges that didn't like to hear themselves talk so much might be a help
Four fair days for Fentynal use. Seems right to me.
No kidding they should have given her long enough for her to get over the withdrawal. Four days in she’d still be dying lol ready to run back to get relief the SECOND the cell opens
So when a man shows up it's his fault no excuses he did it.. when it's a woman it's a man dragging her down with him and not surrounding yourself with good people ... Biased maybe
Lol plagiarized her essay... i think the dirty test takes precedence
I love that these are in Michigan and Wayne County! I live in Wayne County, just outside of Detroit. And I've been through the 36th district court many times before I got clean, and got my shit together. It is No Fun! Lol
Yeah, yeah yeah..blah blah blah,,,,, let's get to the verdict already.
This feminist judge again lol, always screams her head off against men and goes easy on women
Think it might be your own incel-framing that leaves you with that impression 😂
Wow!! I have never seen this judge before but, she is soooo GENUINELY CARING! I am very impressed with this woman, Judge Shackelford, she is really out to help people and she realyl, really cares.
It’s only four days. You can do that stand on your head. It’s literally four days. It’s not like she gave you four months.
Shes about to have the worst four days of her life. Jails are kept ice cold and you had nowhere to sit except the cold concrete or metal benches. Its brutAL BEING in that environment while your withdrawing. When shes ordered back to court in four days, unless she somehow gets a fix, i would be surprised if she could even make ir shes going to be so sick. Uncontrollable puking and shitting sometimes simultaneously. Its terrible and i wouldn't wish it on anyone
Four days is hard if you haven't detoxed. What a waste! Addiction destroyed my entire family. So instead of dealing a problem or problems, you now have problems compounded with addictions.
