I think this nerfed version of Distortion is a decent idea, but i would make the perk stronger by allowing the survivor to read the killers aura as well. For example. If my Huntress wanted to break chase for a second to reload at a locker & attempt to use "Darkness Revealed" at the same time. Distortion would proc since the survivor was in chase prior to Darkness Revealed. The survivor with Distortion would have the aura reading instead of Huntress.
@@SweetLeavesXbox1 then object of obsession would become irrelevant simce it's point is when your aura gets revealed, u get to see the killer's aura as well
People complaining about distortion... while killers run almost every aura reading perk to help them camp and tunnel. They should solve the real problems first instead of catering to whiny killers.
I'm a survivor main and I hate distortion so much. I keep having team-mates using and they have 0 hook states while the rest of the team is death hook and instead of doing gens they just decide to hide and be useless all game. yes there are a lot of op aura reading perks such as nowhere to hide which in my opinion should get nerfed or reworked but I like how distortion will now promote getting chased to activate instead of hiding like a little bitch!
I’ve run distortion and gotten some good usage out of it, but I’ve always unhooked and done gens in those games to be productive. The current state is good in my opinion but they should still fix some perks on both sides to be fair
And solve the real problems of whiny survivor players that gen rush and complain when killers have to tunnel to bring it to a 3v1 because of gen rushing...
I use Distortion constantly because I am a bad looper. Try as I might, my looping is just not really improving. My hope is that my team mate with the chase build is gonna crush it while we rush the gens as much as possible. It's also nice to know what perks the killer may be using. That being said: BHVR said that the issue they are trying to address is people being unread for the entire game. I think this can be easily addressed by reducing the number of tokens you can hold and/or increasing the amount of time you have to be in the killer's terror radius to charge it back up. I can't tell you how many times my distortion tokens have been used up within the first generator and I'm darn lucky if I can can miss every second aura read because they're being used so often. Making the max tokens 2 and adding 5 seconds (or more?? IDK) to the charge time I think would make a huge difference without completely changing the perk.
@@kayjllanderson7877 yeah but why remove skill from the game? I prefer perks that actually take skill to be used instead of being straight up strong without having to do anything
@@Andrekenz well that's fine, don't use that one then lol. There's lots of choices so for different play styles and as I mentioned before, even as it is now, killers can easily counter it by activating aura reading perks often and keeping chases short. My main issue is my team uses distortion as an information perk. One of us has it and then we know what aura perks we are against. Lethal is huge with the extra time on readings and not knowing it’s there will be hurtful. This change is dumb because we have stupid survivors.
Overall im glad to see that perk distortion is getting nerf because as a killer i hate to go against this perk because im newbie and as survivor as you said i hate when people just do nothing and there cant be a perk that can counter so much perk from killer because killer perks has to be stronger than survivor perks.
@@Andrekenz Yeah, honestly same, but since fun niche builds get countered to the ground by single perks and gen rush anyway, there is just no choice on some characters.😭
well hopefully with distortion being a non factor anymore we'd likely just get killers running 3 slowdown perks as a single aura perk doesn't get absolutely demolished by it anymore. but yeah killer perk variety is so boring atm, because they nerfed a lot of the chase and utlity orientated perks like STBFL pretty harshly. and the gen kick entity blockers kinda had the weird side effect of making softer gen regression that aren't high impact like pain res and pop less useful, cause you can easily burn through the entity blocker limit.
I am a survivor main and hate this change. Why? it's an extremly drastic change... Don't believe me? i bet the meta will shift from hex totems to aura reading on killers when it gets released and i would say that is extremly drastic! But if that was all i wouldn't call this change "drastic". The reason i think this is drastic is because it wasn't even needed... Lets look at the facts if you are interested "otzdarva" made a video with his personal killer winrates on a specific set of rules, like no perks and items. What we saw there: every single category he had an high killrate... It literally didn't matter if he was playing against good or bad survivors with no perks or the most crazy perks he got an average of around 3 kills per match! Of course he is not your average killer, but this is an extreme example how overpowered good killers are, you have no chance against them. And you make it easier for an already broken role? if there was a good reason i would say fine. But camping noobs? that's the reason they change this perk? that's an extremly stupid reason in my opinion, because first of all you will not change bad player into good player with such a change it probably has the oposite effect: you change bad players into even worse players or you make them regret playing the game --> they will quite, both effects are something i believe bhvr doesn't want! people might be annoyed by bad teammates, but they need a different kind of fix for that problem. For example a different queue: beginner queue and ranked or ranked vs normals... Why don't they simply do that? there are probably lots of solutions!
hex: meta? are u living in 2022? the hex meta has been over for at least 2 years now... what are u talking about? Otz btw is like pro at killer so he is not the best example and new distortion will promote players to take chase instead of hiding, u don't learn the game by hiding in the corner doing nothing. let dbd actually require some skill thx
