- Hello friends, it's been over 100 degrees F for several days. I left an iron skillet on the driveway all day and had room temp eggs. I did not think it would work and it did not work. If I had maybe a large magnifying glass, I think I could get it to work. I might try that in the future!
No issues frying eggs in Phoenix. We had 118° F in the shade today, much hotter in the direct sunlight.
Really? Can you confirm this with a video or something? I bet the low humidity would also help. Have you tried it? Just curious J.
@@michaelwilsonbarber did you get the link I sent you. For whatever reason RUclips isn't allowing me to post it to the thread.
@@rjpotts69 Hi J, thank you! No, I don't see a link. Maybe just share with me the title and author and I can do a search and find it. I bet it's interesting, thank you!
@@michaelwilsonbarber the channel is "Dave Hales", the title is "FRY AN EGG ON THE SIDEWALK? Just how hot is Arizona?". The date it was published is Jul 31, 2020.
@@rjpotts69 Looking for it right now.....
Need biggest iron skillet you can find (more surface area), season it and put a clear sheet of glass over to trap the heat, not let it radiate out into sounding air. A car gets a lot hotter with the windows rolled up.
Good ideas, thank you! I may try glass over the top next and/or try it under the windshield inside a car. We'll see! This was fun to try though.
make friends with the solar death ray guy.
Maybe just order one from ACME?
